One Year: What 53 Podcast Episodes Taught Me About Showing Up When Life Gets Hard

Unapologetically Visible is officially one year old! When I launched this podcast, I was navigating burnout, major changes in my business, and a personal season that would eventually include surgery, recovery, financial uncertainty, and a complete recalibration of how I wanted to show up publicly. There were plenty of moments when it would have been easier to disappear. But I kept recording. And after one full year of podcasting, I’ve realized that some of the biggest lessons had very little to do with microphones, downloads, or podcast marketing. In this anniversary episode, I’m sharing the three biggest lessons podcasting has taught me about consistency, thought leadership, visibility, and building genuine trust with the people on the other side of your content. In this episode, you’ll hear: What 53 episodes taught me about sustainable consistencyHow I kept the podcast going through burnout, surgery and major life changesWhy lived experience has become an important part of my thought leadershipThe difference between polished expertise and letting people understand how you actually thinkWhy I see podcasting as a trust and conversion asset instead of simply another content channelHow long-form content can help potential clients understand what it would actually feel like to work with youWhy I’m thinking differently about downloads, reach and podcast growth as I enter Year Two If you’ve been thinking about starting a podcast, struggling to stay consistent with the one you already have or questioning whether the content you’re creating is making a difference, this episode is for you. And if Unapologetically Visible has supported you over the past year, I have two anniversary requests. Leave a rating or review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Every review helps more Latina and Women of Color founders discover the show. Then come find me on Instagram @TheSocialButterflyGal and tell me what you want us to talk about in Year Two. And if you’re ready for deeper support recalibrating your leadership, personal brand and visibility for the season you’re stepping into, explore my private coaching and coaching offers through the links in the show notes or DM me COACHING on Instagram. What Podcasting Taught Me About Visibility That Social Media Never Could

Podcasting changed my relationship with social media, storytelling and the way I build trust with the people listening. It gave me room to move beyond polished authority content and create the deeper conversations I had been craving, conversations about business, identity, money, fertility, leadership and what it actually takes to remain visible while navigating real life. In this episode of Unapologetically Visible, I’m sharing what surprised me most during my first year of podcasting, including: Why long-form content helped me become a more honest and confident storytellerHow I use AI without allowing it to erase my voice, lived experience or personalityWhy some of my strongest podcast moments happen when I move away from the scriptHow podcasting helped me balance vulnerability with my growing desire for privacyWhat reaching listeners outside of San Antonio taught me about the power of one person’s voiceWhy the fear that “no one will listen” should not stop you from sharing your story This conversation is for the founder, creator or thought leader who has been questioning whether her voice matters, whether there is still room for her perspective or whether starting a podcast is worth the effort.  Takeaways The podcast has transformed my understanding of visibility.Podcasting allows for deeper storytelling than social media.AI can enhance creativity but shouldn't dominate content.Authenticity is key in connecting with the audience. The podcast has expanded my reach beyond local boundaries.Sharing personal struggles fosters connection and relatability.Visibility as a Latina entrepreneur is crucial.Going off-script often leads to the best content. The podcast serves as a platform for raw and honest conversations.Every voice matters, and your story is impactful. I Almost Let the Tech Stop Me: My Exact Podcast Workflow, Tools and Strategy

Have you been thinking about starting a podcast but feel overwhelmed by the technology, equipment, content planning, or pressure to keep up with another platform? As Unapologetically Visible approaches its one-year anniversary in August of 2026, I’m taking you behind the scenes of what it has actually taken to produce a weekly podcast for an entire year. I spent years telling myself that I wanted to start a podcast, but I kept overthinking the technology and waiting for the perfect time. Once I stopped treating the podcast like one massive project and created a simple, repeatable process, everything changed. In this episode, I’m breaking down the exact goals, podcast tools, systems, and weekly workflow I use to create, record, edit, publish, and promote Unapologetically Visible. We’re talking about:• The three goals that shaped the direction of my podcast • Why I chose solo podcast episodes instead of guest interviews • How podcasting can build credibility, deepen trust, and support client conversion • The technology and software I use, including Riverside FM and Acast • How I plan and write podcast scripts without losing my personality • My Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday podcast production schedule • How I turn each episode into newsletters, LinkedIn articles, and social media content • What finally helped me stop overthinking and publish the first episode You do not need an elaborate studio, a large production team, or a perfect strategy to begin. You need a clear reason for creating the podcast and a process you can realistically sustain. This is the first episode in a three-part series celebrating one year of Unapologetically Visible. Over the next few episodes, I’ll share the mistakes I made, the lessons I learned, and what surprised me most about building a podcast from the ground up.  Takeaways The podcast aims to connect with high-achieving Latina and women of color founders.Having fun is the primary goal of the podcast.Overcoming technology fears is crucial for starting a podcast.Riverside FM is the preferred recording software.Creating a structured process helps streamline podcast production.Mondays are dedicated to content creation and script writing.Wednesdays are reserved for editing episodes.Thursdays are the release days for new episodes.Engaging with the audience is essential for podcast success.Starting a podcast is about learning and evolving over time. Why Your Expert Content Isn’t Working Anymore: My Content Creator Identity Crisis

What happens when the content strategy that built your authority, grew your audience, and helped establish your business suddenly stops working? In this milestone 50th episode of Unapologetically Visible, I’m taking you behind the scenes of my own content creator identity crisis and the humbling experience of being a visibility coach who is having to rediscover her own visibility. For more than a decade, I knew how to create educational content, communicate authority, position my ideas, and make it clear why someone should hire me. That approach helped me build a respected personal brand, sell my work, and evolve through multiple eras of entrepreneurship. But lately, especially on Instagram, the numbers have been telling me a different truth. My Engagement is down. Conversations are quieter. The polished, expert-led content that once built trust has become easier to scroll past. As A.I. changes how content is created and audiences become more skeptical of perfectly packaged expertise, people are craving something different: genuine connection, personality, honesty, curiosity, and access to the human being behind the business. In this episode, I share what this shift has forced me to confront not only about content creation and personal branding, but about identity, survival mode, creativity, money, health, motherhood, and the version of myself I am becoming. You’ll hear: Why authority-building content may no longer be enough to hold people’s attentionThe difference between being respected as an expert and being interesting enough to keep followingHow survival mode quietly affected my creativity and relationship with visibilityWhy feeling lost may actually mean you have outgrown an old version of yourselfWhat I am changing about my Instagram content and personal brandThe three commitments guiding my next chapter: curiosity, creativity, and becoming a student againWhy I believe this next era of my visibility will be built from alignment rather than pressure After listening, send me a DM on Instagram at @thesocialbutterflygal and tell me: What kind of content are you craving right now? What makes you curious enough to stop scrolling and stay? 5 Visibility Beliefs I Had to Unlearn to Grow My Business as an Established Latina Founder

When you have already built credibility with your visibility, the deeper challenge is allowing your visibility to evolve alongside your leadership, business model, capacity, and the woman you are becoming. In Episode 49 of Unapologetically Visible, I share five (5) visibility beliefs I have had to unlearn while navigating three major business model shifts over 11 years of entrepreneurship. I explore why a larger audience does not always lead to more clients, why consistency alone does not create authority, and why established founders can become trapped by the very identity that originally made them successful. In this episode, you will learn: Why reaching more people is not always the answer to growing your businessThe difference between visibility, familiarity, credibility, and authorityHow to evolve beyond the offer, identity, or business model that first made you successfulWhy being polished is not the same as being trustedHow to stop interpreting every quiet season as proof that your visibility is failingWhy your energy, capacity, and personal priorities must be considered when building your visibility strategyHow to use buyer behavior, client results, relationships, and sales data to make clearer marketing decisions Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Visibility and Growth 02:43 Unlearning Visibility Beliefs 09:48 The Myth of Audience Size 13:33 The Role of Consistency in Authority 14:02 Evolving Beyond Initial Success 19:43 The Illusion of Perfection 22:32 Understanding Visibility and Response Timing  Takeaways Visibility beliefs can hinder growth and understanding.Growth is not solely dependent on audience size.Consistency must be coupled with substance for authority.Evolving business models require letting go of past identities.Trust is built through congruence, not perfection.Visibility is a continuous recalibration process.Your thoughts shape your visibility outcomes.Success in one season does not obligate repetition in the next.Understanding your audience is key to effective visibility.Embrace your evolution and communicate it clearly. 💼 Work With ChristinaIf this episode hit home and you’re ready to step into the next level of your visibility and authority, explore 1:1 Coaching Options 👉 https://www.thesocialbutterflygal.net/coaching 💌 Connect with Christina Follow on Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/TheSocialButterflyGal Follow on LinkedIn | https://www.linkedin.com/in/christina-jovanna-olivarez-14081226/ Follow on Threads | https://www.threads.com/TheSocialButterflyGal Subscribe to the Weekly Newsletter | https://exceptional-architect-8453.kit.com/378645e1ce?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAdGRleAOeg6BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAadxKUKygrtOk5mTgcTp_pI8hfcsESFjl7pnTlnhamq2ukyfYEPTSpqKlvweWw_aem_WGjpp-73guxgdW6-Xx4v1Q Hosted on Acast. What I Look For in a Private 1:1 Coaching Client- How I Qualify Applicants

In this episode of Unapologetically Visible, I take you behind the scenes of what I actually looks for when reviewing private coaching applications, and the biggest factor has nothing to do with whether someone can afford to pay. As an award-winning Visibility and Leadership Coach who has coached hundreds of Latina and Women of Color founders, I break down the deeper indicators of readiness for long-term private coaching: ownership, decision-readiness, emotional maturity, coachability, resiliency, and the ability to be in recalibration without needing to be hand-held through every step. I share how I evaluate whether someone is best suited for long-term Private 1:1 Coaching, a 90-minute Intensive, or a VIP Day and why discernment matters when choosing the right level of support. In this episode, I talk about: Why I do not accept private coaching clients just because they can pay The biggest factor I evaluate in private coaching applications The difference between support, accountability, and unhealthy hand-holding Why ownership is one of the strongest indicators of coaching readiness What emotional maturity looks like inside high-level leadership and visibility work Why the best clients are not always the fastest movers, but the ones who stay in relationship with the work How to know if you are better suited for Private Coaching, a 90-minute Intensive, or a VIP Day The red flags that may signal someone is not ready for private work yet Why financial panic is not the same as a stretched, grounded investment The difference between wanting proximity and being ready for the responsibility that comes with it What it really means to be coached through your next era of leadership, visibility, and business growth Chapters 00:00 Introduction to Coaching Philosophy 02:36 Qualifying Coaching Applicants 11:49 Key Qualities of Ideal Clients 17:42 Different Coaching Options Explained 23:31 Red Flags in Coaching Applications 25:26 Next Steps for Interested Clients 💼 Work With Christina If this episode hit home and you’re ready to step into the next level of your visibility and authority: Explore 1:1 Coaching Options 👉 https://www.thesocialbutterflygal.net/coaching 💌 Connect with Christina Follow on Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/TheSocialButterflyGal Follow on LinkedIn | https://www.linkedin.com/in/christina-jovanna-olivarez-14081226/ Follow on Threads | https://www.threads.com/TheSocialButterflyGal Subscribe to the Weekly Newsletter | https://exceptional-architect-8453.kit.com/378645e1ce?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAdGRleAOeg6BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAadxKUKygrtOk5mTgcTp_pI8hfcsESFjl7pnTlnhamq2ukyfYEPTSpqKlvweWw_aem_WGjpp-73guxgdW6-Xx4v1Q Hosted on Acast. The Tension of Vulnerability: How to Share Your Story Without Overexposing Yourself

When you are the face of your brand, your story becomes part of your leadership. People trust you because they can feel the lived experience behind your work, your decisions, your pivots, your growth, and the way you lead through hard seasons. But there is a real tension that comes with that kind of visibility. How much do you share? What belongs in your public content? What belongs in your client work? What belongs in your inner circle? And what belongs only to you, your family, and the people who have earned the right to hold your tenderness? In this episode of Unapologetically Visible, I'm having an honest conversation about protected visibility, storytelling discernment, and what it means to share your truth without turning your pain into public property. Because the algorithm loves pain. And for founders, leaders, coaches, consultants, therapists, creatives, and thought leaders whose work is rooted in personal brand visibility, it can become easy to confuse vulnerability with overexposure, engagement with trust, and public attention with real connection. I share what I'm personally recalibrating in this season as I navigate business pivots, personal hardship, family responsibility, fertility, financial pressure, and the emotional weight of being a visible founder while still protecting the parts of my life that are not meant for public consumption. In this episode, you’ll hear:How to know the difference between being vulnerable and overexposing yourself onlineWhy the algorithm rewards pain, but that does not mean your tenderness should become contentHow to share the lesson without revealing every private detail of the painWhy public visibility does not require public access to every part of your lifeThe difference between vulnerability that performs and vulnerability that actually builds trustHow personal-brand leaders can use storytelling with more discernment, integrity, and emotional safetyWhy your next level of visibility may require more protection, not more exposureHow to ask better questions before sharing something tender onlineWhy aligned clients are not attracted to you because you perform your pain, but because you lead from truth without abandoning yourself Chapters 00:00 The Tension of Personal Branding 03:19 Navigating Vulnerability and Transparency 10:22 The Complexity of Sharing Personal Struggles 17:28 Discernment in Storytelling 24:29 Maturing Visibility and Leadership 💼 Work With ChristinaIf this episode hit home and you’re ready to step into the next level of your visibility and authority, join the monthly Power Hour Monthly Trainings or explore 1:1 coaching offers: Explore 1:1 Coaching Options 👉 https://www.thesocialbutterflygal.net/coaching 💌 Connect with ChristinaFollow on Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/TheSocialButterflyGal Follow on LinkedIn | https://www.linkedin.com/in/christina-jovanna-olivarez-14081226/ Follow on Threads | https://www.threads.com/TheSocialButterflyGal Subscribe to the Weekly Newsletter | https://exceptional-architect-8453.kit.com/378645e1ce?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAdGRleAOeg6BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAadxKUKygrtOk5mTgcTp_pI8hfcsESFjl7pnTlnhamq2ukyfYEPTSpqKlvweWw_aem_WGjpp-73guxgdW6-Xx4v1Q Hosted on Acast.
