The Bench Session

Frost

The Bench Session Unloading the weight, one session at a time. This is a place to slow down and talk honestly. Some of these conversations are the ones we only have in our own head. Some are the ones we save for the people we trust most. There’s no script. No performance. No pretending to have it all figured out. Sometimes it’s just me, a mic, a bench, and whatever needs to be said. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s grounding. Sometimes it’s exactly what you didn’t know you needed to hear. Life gets heavy. This is where we sit down and unload it — one session at a time.

The Man I’m Trying to Become

S2 E18 — The Man I’m Trying to Become I've spent a lot of time thinking about the man I want to become. But lately I've been asking myself a different question: Can I become that man without spending the entire journey believing the man I am today isn't good enough? In the Season 2 finale of The Bench Session, I talk about where that question started for me — my fitness journey — and how it turned into something much bigger. We talk about the loneliness of trying to change yourself, constantly moving the finish line, the difference between self-improvement and self-rejection, and what ambition actually costs when you're always chasing the next version of yourself. I also talk about the darker moments we don't always say out loud — when anxiety, trauma, grief, fear, or whatever we're carrying becomes so heavy that we can't imagine tomorrow, let alone ten years from now. Because this season has been about life. The good parts, the f****d-up parts, getting older, failing, changing, losing people, finding peace, and trying to understand who we are while we're still becoming whoever we're going to be. Ten years from now, I hope I'm proud of the man I became. But I also hope I can look back at the man sitting on this bench today and realize... he wasn't so f*****g bad either. This is the end of Season 2. I'll see you next season.
