Is All the Noise Keeping You From Hearing God? | Sunday Service

When was the last time you were truly quiet? No phone. No television. No music. No notifications. No rushing to the next thing. Just you and God.In Week 3 of The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, we move from talking about the problem of hurry to practicing the way of Jesus through two disciplines: Silence & Solitude and Sabbath.Throughout the Gospels, Jesus intentionally withdrew to quiet places. Before facing temptation in the wilderness, He spent 40 days alone with God. In the middle of a growing ministry, He got up early and went to a solitary place to pray. And when His disciples became so busy they didn't even have time to eat, Jesus told them to come away with Him and rest. The quiet place wasn't a sign of weakness for Jesus. It was where He found strength. But silence isn't simply the absence of external noise. Our homes can be quiet while our minds are screaming. Sometimes we even use constant entertainment, work, scrolling, and busyness to drown out what's happening inside us.Then there's Sabbath. The Hebrew word Shabbat carries the idea of stopping—and also of delighting. Sabbath teaches us to stop chasing more long enough to enjoy God and the life He has already given us.We don't have to experience everything. We don't have to accomplish everything. We don't have to finish everything today. We can stop because God is still God when we aren't working.Maybe unhurrying your life doesn't begin with finding more time.Maybe it begins by intentionally becoming quiet, getting alone with God, and remembering how to stop.Silence. Solitude. Sabbath. It's time to practice the pace of Jesus.ROLC exists to see a real God flowing through real people.💻 www.rolc.church📲 Follow us on Instagram and Facebook: @rolc_churchLove People 🩶Reach The Lost 🛟Teach Believers 📖Serve The Community 🤝WELCOME HOME

Saying No To The Right Things | Sunday Service

You can’t do it all. That may not sound encouraging—but accepting our limitations might actually be one of the first steps toward the life Jesus is inviting us into. In Week 2 of The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry, we move from identifying the problem of hurry to beginning to address the solution. We all have the same 24 hours, yet we continually try to fit more into them. Work, family, relationships, responsibilities, entertainment, social media, and endless distractions can leave us with little margin for the things that matter most. The reality is that we are limited creations. We have limits physically, emotionally, relationally, financially, and even in the season of life we're currently in. Instead of constantly fighting those limits, what if we learned to embrace them? Jesus offers another way. In Matthew 11:28–30, He invites the tired and worn out to come to Him and learn His “unforced rhythms of grace.” Following Jesus isn't simply believing in Him—it means becoming His apprentice and learning to organize our lives around His way of living. And Jesus was rarely in a hurry. This message challenges us to intentionally create margin—space in our schedules and lives to hear God, be present with people, rest, and become more like Jesus. You don't need to figure out how to fit everything in. You may need to decide what doesn't belong. Unbusy your schedule. Unhurry your soul. Learn the rhythms of Jesus. Still Standing - 20 Year Anniversary Celebration | Sunday Service

Twenty years. Countless lives changed. And God is still writing the story. In this special 20th Anniversary Service, we celebrate what God has done through River of Life Church and honor the faithfulness of Pastors Mike and Kristy through every season of ministry. These messages remind us that longevity doesn’t happen by accident. There are seasons of opportunity, seasons of opposition, moments of breakthrough, and moments when quitting would make sense. But faithfulness means continuing to hear God, obey His voice, and trust Him with what comes next. In Acts 26, Paul could look back on everything he had endured and say, “To this day I have had the help that comes from God.” His perseverance wasn’t a testimony to his own strength—it was a testimony to the God who sustained him. That same truth is at the heart of 20 years of ROLC. There have been good days. There have been hard days. There have been seasons when quitting would have been easier. But they remained—and because they remained, countless people have been impacted. We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 4 that we may be afflicted, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down—but we are not destroyed. The power that keeps us standing has never belonged to us. It belongs to God. So today we celebrate the past, but we also look toward the future. Thank God for 20 years.Thank God for His faithfulness.Thank God, we’re still standing. And the story isn’t finished yet.
