TheAnger You Keep Burying: Healing the Childhood Wound of the Enneagram Type 9

Why is it so hard for Enneagram Type 9s to speak up, set boundaries, and admit when they're angry? And what happens when being the “easygoing one” slowly turns into losing yourself? In this episode of STILL YOU, we're diving deep into the childhood wounds of Enneagram Type 9, the Peacemaker, and exploring how the need to maintain harmony can lead to people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, suppressed anger, procrastination, and putting everyone else's needs before your own. We'll unpack why so many Nines learn to minimize their own desires, why saying “I don't care” doesn't always mean you genuinely don't care, and how years of swallowing your feelings can turn into resentment, emotional withdrawal, and feeling stuck in your own life. But here's the truth: keeping the peace isn't the same as experiencing real peace. We're exploring how these childhood patterns can follow you into adulthood, affect your relationships, and disconnect you from your own voice. More importantly, we'll talk about how Nines can reconnect with their anger, recognize their needs, establish healthier boundaries, and stop abandoning themselves just to keep everyone else comfortable.Because your needs matter. Your opinions matter. Your anger can teach you something. And you don't have to disappear to be loved. In this episode, we'll cover:- The childhood wound of Enneagram Type 9- Why Nines become the “easy” or low-maintenance child- How people-pleasing and conflict avoidance develop- The hidden anger and resentment beneath the easygoing exterior- Why Nines struggle to identify their own wants and needs- How suppressed anger affects relationships and self-worth- Practical steps for healing, setting boundaries, and taking action- How to stop confusing comfort with peace and start showing up for your own lifeIf you're an Enneagram Nine, love a Nine, or recognize yourself in the habit of keeping everyone else happy while quietly ignoring your own needs, this episode is for you. It's time to stop putting yourself on the back burner. You belong in your own life, too.You don't have to disappear in order to belong.Welcome to STILL YOU — where we use the wisdom of the Enneagram to reconnect with who we really are. I'll Never Let You Hurt Me Again: Healing The Type 8 Childhood Wound

What happens when a child learns that being vulnerable isn't safe? In this episode of STILL YOU, we're diving deep into the childhood wound of Enneagram Type 8, the Challenger—the child who learned far too early that they needed to be strong, independent, and ready to protect themselves. We'll explore where the Eight's intense need for control, autonomy, and strength can come from, including experiences of betrayal, rejection, instability, unfairness, and having to grow up too quickly. We'll talk about why some Eights become the “problem child,” why they may develop a tough exterior, and how the belief that “no one is going to control me” can become a lifelong defense mechanism. But underneath all that strength is a part of the Eight that still wants something incredibly human: to feel safe enough to trust, soften, receive love, and let someone else in. We'll explore how the Type 8 childhood wound can show up in adulthood through relationships, anger, control, independence, conflict, boundaries, and difficulty asking for help. And most importantly, we'll talk about what healing can actually look like for an Eight. Because the goal isn't for Eights to become softer versions of themselves. It's learning that strength and vulnerability can exist at the same time. You don't have to lose your power to let someone love you. And you don't have to keep your armor on forever. This is the journey back to yourself.
