    Meditations in Job - Why So Much Injustice

    I’ve noticed that it’s almost impossible to talk about current world events without hearing some anger in the conversation. And I don’t think the anger is unfounded. I believe it is an expression of our longing for justice. And when so much in the world is unjust, the longing is real. This is a complex conversation. But here are just a few of my thoughts on it.     Have you ever felt far from God? Like there was this wall between you and God? Or maybe a wall isn’t the right word. Maybe it felt more like a dark chasm or thick fog. Today, we keep company with Job, a man who lived thousands of years ago but who felt far from God just like us. Hidden deep within his cries of agony, we might just find a silver thread of hope.     If I can manifest good things for my life, does that mean that the bad things are my fault? This is not just a theoretical question. It’s practical and important. We need to know if we can control the outcome. Because if we can that’s a heavy weight for each of us to carry.     Empty Spaces #7 - The Wait

    What are you still waiting for? What’s that really important thing that you still find yourself longing for? Right now, I’m waiting on a lot of healing as well as some dreams that still aren’t fulfilled. In this world, we wait… a lot! We wait for a future spouse. We wait for our careers to finally take off. We wait to conceive a child. Waiting, waiting, waiting. And sometimes, waiting can be really painful. We begin to wonder if we are really loved. Or if we’re doing something wrong.
