Standing and Strengthening in Times of Loneliness

What do we do when the people we count on walk away? In this powerful exploration of 2 Timothy 4:9-18, we sit with one of the most vulnerable moments in all of Scripture - the apostle Paul, near the end of his life, writing from a cold Roman prison, feeling the sting of abandonment. He names the people who left, the one who betrayed him, and the silence of those who should have stood by him. And yet, right in the middle of all that pain, there is a single word that changes everything: but. That conjunction carries the full weight of God's faithfulness. Paul's experience becomes a mirror for our own - because loneliness is not a sign of weak faith. It is a deeply human experience that even the greatest servants of God have faced. The message here is not that faith removes our need for companionship, comfort, and growth. It is that faith connects us to the God who meets us in those needs and never leaves us to face them alone.

Sheepish About Our Faith: The Protective Love of God

What does it really mean to belong to God, and can anything ever take that away from us? This message challenges us to examine whether we have been applying a human definition of love to a God whose love exists outside of time and beyond our failures. If we have confessed with our mouths and believed in our hearts, our salvation is not a fragile thing hanging by a thread. It is held securely in the hands of the One who is greater than all. The question this message leaves us with is not whether God is holding on to us, but whether we truly believe that He is.

God's Proven Love: Why Your Brokenness Doesn't Limit His Love

What if God’s love doesn’t wait for you to get your life together? Exploring Romans 5:1–8, this sermon confronts our fear of falling short with a radical truth: our brokenness doesn’t limit God’s love-His love redefines our brokenness. Discover how Christ’s love in perfection changes everything about how we view ourselves and God.

What to Do When a Door is Closed

What happens when the path we were certain God had laid out for us suddenly gets blocked? Acts 16:6-10 gives us a front-row seat to one of the most pivotal moments in the early church, when Paul and his companions were repeatedly prevented by the Holy Spirit from entering Asia, only to receive a vision redirecting them to Macedonia entirely. This passage challenges us to reconsider how we interpret the closed doors in our own lives. Rather than reading them as punishment or failure, we are invited to see them as divine redirection. The spiritual insight here is profound: God never closes a door without a plan to open another one. The question is whether we are paying close enough attention to recognize His hand in the detours. This message is deeply relevant to anyone navigating job loss, rejection, or plans that simply fell apart despite our best efforts and sincerest intentions. It reminds us that our frustration in the hallway between closed and open doors is real, but so is God's presence in that very space.

God Has Loved You a Long Time

What if the love we have been searching for our entire lives was already secured for us before we ever took our first breath? That is the staggering reality Paul lays out in Ephesians 1:3-4, where he describes a God who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places and chose us before the foundation of the world. This message invites us to stop measuring God's love by the standard of human relationships, which are marked by rejection, disappointment, and conditions, and instead anchor ourselves in a love that is proactive, eternal, and unshakeable. The spiritual blessings Paul describes are not material gains to be chased or earned. They are heavenly, eternal, and already given. We do not need to beg for what God has already reserved for us. We simply need to walk in it. If we have ever felt like outsiders, like we have done too much or been away too long to be accepted by God, this passage speaks directly to that fear. God did not choose us because of a perfect record. He chose us knowing every mistake we would ever make, and He made a way through Jesus Christ anyway. That is not a love we can lose, because it is not a love we ever had to win.

    Look to Jesus

What do we do when life feels unfair and suffering seems relentless? This message meets us right in the middle of that question, anchoring us in 1 Peter 2:21-25, where the apostle Peter, once a man who fiercely resisted the idea of suffering speaks with hard-won wisdom about how we are called to respond when life gets hard. The central insight is both challenging and freeing: suffering is not outside of God's plan. It is woven into our calling. But we are never left without a guide. Jesus himself walked the path ahead of us, enduring insult without retaliation, absorbing injustice without threatening, and entrusting himself entirely to a God who judges righteously. That is our example. That is the footprint we are invited to step into. The message draws a vivid picture of following Jesus not from a distance, but closely, step by step, the way you would place your feet in tracks already made through deep snow. Someone has already gone ahead. The way has already been made. The question is whether we will trust it enough to follow.

    Trust in the Lord

Drawing from Proverbs 3:1-6, this sermon explores what it means to genuinely trust God when facing the countless decisions of daily life. Pastor Bernard distinguishes between merely believing in God and actually trusting him, arguing that true trust means placing the full weight of one's heart, intellect, and will in God's hands. Rather than seeking signs or leaning on human understanding, believers are called to acknowledge God in every decision, both small and large, so that He can make their paths straight. The sermon emphasizes that God's will is found in God's Word, that wisdom comes from knowing God intimately, and that stepping out in faith, even imperfectly, allows God to guide and straighten the course of one's life.

    Walking in God's Good Works

This sermon opens a new series called "God Just Tell Me" by addressing one of the most universal human questions: What is my purpose? Pastor Bernard establishes that while God's word will not provide specific, individualized directives for every life decision, it does contain the principles and truth needed to understand His will. Drawing from Ephesians 2:8-10 as an anchor text, the sermon argues that purpose is not something a believer creates or discovers independently, but rather a path God has already prepared. Through an examination of three Greek words for scripture — graphe, logos, and rhema — Pastor Bernard explains how God communicates with believers and how his Word functions as a living guide. The sermon unfolds in three movements: God works in us, God works through us, and God has already prepared good works for us. Salvation is presented not as a destination but as the starting point of a purposeful walk, and believers are called to exchange their grave clothes for grace clothes, stepping into the masterpiece God has already designed them to be.
