    The Garnet Ghost Town

💄👻 Lipgloss & Lobotomies: The Chase Vault & Garnet Ghost Town What do a sealed vault in Barbados and an abandoned mining town in Montana have in common? Besides giving us major “absolutely not, I’m not going in there” energy… they’re both surrounded by mysteries that have refused to stay buried. 👀 First, we’re heading to Barbados to investigate the Chase Vault Mystery—the infamous tomb where coffins were reportedly found mysteriously moved despite the vault being sealed and undisturbed. Was it supernatural? A very elaborate hoax? Or is there a perfectly creepy explanation hiding beneath the legend? Then we’re packing our bags and heading west to Garnet Ghost Town, one of Montana’s best-preserved abandoned mining towns. Once bustling with miners, businesses, saloons, and families, Garnet eventually fell quiet—leaving behind empty buildings, forgotten belongings, and plenty of stories about the people who never quite left. 🏚️⛏️ So grab your lip gloss, turn down the lights, and come get appropriately uncomfortable with us as we explore moved coffins, abandoned towns, ghost stories, and two mysteries where the past refuses to stay in the past. Because sometimes the dead leave things behind… and sometimes they move them. 💋🕯️ LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE   Instagram: lipgloss_and_lobotomies   Facebook: Lipgloss & Lobotomies Podcast   TikTok: lipgloss.lobotomi   Email: lipglossandlobotomiespodcast@gmail.com

    Alleged Serial Killer: Bertha Gifford

Lipgloss & Lobotomies — Episode Description What do hydraulic pressure and a suspected serial killer have in common? Probably absolutely nothing… except that we somehow managed to put them in the same episode. 😂🕷️🔪 First, we’re getting weirdly scientific and diving into the fascinating world of wolf spiders and hydraulics—how these eight-legged little nightmares use internal fluid pressure to help move their bodies and even their fangs. Recent research has found evidence that hydraulic pressure plays an important role in the movement of wolf spider chelicerae.  Then we’re leaving the spider lab and heading to Missouri, where we meet Bertha Gifford, a woman whose reputation as a caretaker became intertwined with a disturbing series of mysterious deaths. Gifford was convicted of three murders in 1928, while investigators and later accounts connected her to numerous additional suspicious deaths—leading to her being remembered as one of Missouri’s earliest alleged female serial killers.  So grab your lip gloss, prepare yourself for some creepy crawlies, strange science, arsenic, and old-school true crime, and join us for another wonderfully unhinged episode of Lipgloss & Lobotomies. 💄🕷️🧠 Because apparently we can’t just talk about one disturbing thing at a time. 💀 LIKE, COMMENT & SUBSCRIBE   Instagram: lipgloss_and_lobotomies   Facebook: Lipgloss & Lobotomies Podcast   TikTok: lipgloss.lobotomi   Email: lipglossandlobotomiespodcast@gmail.com

The Murder of Kathryn Crigler & Betty Jones

💄🧠 Lipgloss & Lobotomies Podcast Episode Description This week on Lipgloss & Lobotomies, we’re unraveling two chilling stories separated by more than a century—but forever connected by the search for the truth. First, we brave the frozen Arctic to explore Sir John Franklin’s infamous 1845 expedition aboard the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. What was meant to be a historic voyage through the Northwest Passage became one of the greatest maritime disasters in history. We’ll dive into the disappearance of 129 men, the haunting discoveries made decades later, and the science that’s finally helping piece together what happened in the Arctic ice. Then, we head to Starkville, Mississippi, to examine the tragic murders of Kathryn Crigler and Betty Jones. On Labor Day in 1990, a violent home invasion claimed the lives of two beloved women and devastated their community. For years, investigators refused to give up, and decades later, advances in forensic DNA technology finally led to the identification and conviction of the man responsible. We’ll discuss the crime, the long road to justice, and how perseverance and modern science helped bring answers after more than 30 years. From a doomed expedition lost to the Arctic to a cold case that was finally solved, this episode explores the enduring pursuit of truth—even when it takes generations to find it.
