Coventry City Daily Digest: Friday 2 October 2026

Coventry's away allocation for Tottenham Hotspur sold out on Thursday, the day it went on sale. The club confirm a limited number of wheelchair bays and ambulant disabled tickets remain for registered disabled season ticket holders with the required loyalty points, available by phone to the ticket office or in person at the Coventry Building Society Arena. If any are still available on Friday 2 October they are sold in four windows: 1300+ points from 10:00, 1200+ from 12:00, 1100+ from 14:00 and 1000+ from 16:00. Successful ballot members who have not yet bought have until 10:00 on Friday 2 October. Coventry are at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday 19 October. Andy Turner of CoventryLive reports that Taiwo Awoniyi is serving a three match suspension, has already sat out the last two matches and will serve the third against Newcastle United at home on Monday 12 October, 8pm. From the same CoventryLive round-up of the eleven Sky Blues away with their countries: Yann Gboho came off the bench in the 83rd minute for the Ivory Coast against Somalia on Tuesday and scored in the 89th in a 2-0 win; Norman Bassette scored the winner for Belgium Under-21s against a Wales Under-21 side captained by Coventry team-mate Kai Andrews, in Westerlo, where Bassette is on loan; Taiwo Awoniyi and Frank Onyeka both started and were both withdrawn at half-time as Nigeria lost 3-0 away to Guinea-Bissau on Tuesday; and Caleb Yirenkyi and Brandon Thomas-Asante lost 2-0 to the Ivory Coast and then 4-2 to Gambia from two goals up, prompting calls for the Ghana manager to go. Coventry City have unveiled a limited-edition all-pink shirt in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness, on sale online and in The Cov Store from Friday 9 October in adult and junior sizes, stock limited, with one-off auction pieces raising further funds later in the month. The campaign runs across October at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the charity CoppaFeel! hosted at the Newcastle United fixture on Monday 12 October and a stadium-wide fan display before kick-off. Play Up, Sky Blues!

Coventry City Daily Digest: Thursday 1 October 2026

Coventry City have confirmed ticket details for the away game at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday 19 October, 8pm kick-off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with a full allocation of 3,038 tickets and one ticket per Supporter Number. The sale runs in four loyalty-point windows on Thursday 1 October: 1700+ points from 10am, 1600+ from 12pm, 1500+ from 2pm and 1400+ from 4pm, each window open for one hour 45 minutes, with unpaid baskets cleared before the next window opens. Prices are £30 adult, £25 senior and young adult (18 to 25), £18 under 18, plus a £1 booking fee per ticket, and supporters buying a ticket receive 20 loyalty points. The club says further on-sales will be communicated if tickets remain. The Premier League's Key Match Incidents panel has ruled both big decisions in Coventry's 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest correct, as reported by Andy Turner for CoventryLive. The panel supported the VAR intervention to disallow Igor Jesus' late goal 4-1, saying the attacker carelessly stepped on the heel of Caleb Yirenkyi and that it was impactful in the lead up to the goal, and ruled 5-0 that the referee's call of no penalty for a challenge by Frank Onyeka in the 85th minute was correct, the contact being below the threshold for a penalty. Across match round five the panel judged 88% of on-field referee decisions correct, and 89% across the season to date. Frank Lampard has spoken about man management at Coventry, in comments reported by Andy Turner for CoventryLive, who calls it Lampard's biggest challenge since arriving at the club. Lampard said he does not walk in every day and sing a song to the players, that they are grown ups who understand it, and that he is very big on positivity but that positivity and confidence come with work. He pointed to two of the first five fixtures being away at two of what he called the best teams in Europe and said he would not speak forever about it, that City gave everything at Arsenal, and that against Manchester City they competed and probably should have got a result. He said he is not beating the players up over nerves when many are making their Premier League debuts in their mid-20s, and that being exposed to the level is the best way for them to settle. Play Up, Sky Blues!

Coventry City Daily Digest: Wednesday 30 September 2026

Ellis Simms has applied for a Polish passport and Poland are interested and watching, Andy Turner reports for CoventryLive on the back of reporting out of Poland. Poland's national team director Adrian Mierzejewski says Simms' documents are with the consulate and they are waiting on the passport; Polish reports say coach Kibu Vicuna, recently added to Jan Urban's staff, has been tasked with flying to England to watch him; head coach Urban told TVP Sport that Simms would be treated like anyone else once the paperwork clears, and that he is not Haaland but not some random player either. Simms, called up by England at Under-20 level and also eligible for Jamaica, qualifies for Poland through his Poland-born grandmother. He was not in the squad for Poland's three games this international break, against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Sweden, which CoventryLive puts down to the documents still being processed. Liam Kitching made his Republic of Ireland debut on Sunday in a 3-0 Nations League win over Israel, playing the full 90 minutes on the left of a back three after sitting on the bench for the defeat to Kosovo on the Thursday. He qualifies through a Kildare-born grandmother. Ireland head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson said Kitching would have been in the squad in the summer had the papers been processed sooner, and called him a brilliant person, a good character and a good leader, and a left-footed centre-back Ireland do not have many of. Kitching, a Coventry player, is at Sheffield United on a season-long loan and has played every minute of their four games so far. Carl Rushworth says the shackles are off after Coventry's first win of the season at Nottingham Forest, where he supplied the ball for Jay Dasilva's winner and, by his own account, had barely a save to make. There were no new club announcements out of Coventry City for a fourth day running. The ticket window for supporters with previous purchase history opens at 10am on Wednesday 30 September for Newcastle United at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Monday 12 October, 8pm. Play Up, Sky Blues!
