About Our Guest: I am a survivor of childhood trauma that began when I was seven and continued into my teens inside a high control religious group. I did not remember any of it for decades. In my early fifties, the memories returned in sharp flashes that changed how I understood my past and the choices I made as an adult. That history shaped my early relationships. My first marriage was abusive, and intimacy later became tied to validation and control. Therapy helped me see how much of my drive to achieve was rooted in survival and how long the body can hold what the mind cannot. My relationship with my mother was distant, yet I spent twelve years caring for her through dementia until she died last year. Supporting an aging parent while carrying unresolved trauma created a kind of grief I am still working through. Today, I am an executive coach with a sub niche in supporting adult children of aging parents. My work is not trauma focused, but my lived experience gives me a grounded understanding of pressure, responsibility, and resilience. I care about the moments when someone gains clarity or sees a possibility they could not see before. That is the part of the work that feels like purpose.
