    RHOP'S TIA GLOVER CATCHES HUSBAND ROB ON DATING APPS

    On this episode of The Salty Chip Podcast, Mackenzie and Isaac break down the bombshell Tia Glover is bringing into Real Housewives of Potomac Season 11. It's day two of filming, and Tia says she found out her husband Rob has been on dating apps. For about a year. She says that when she confronted Rob, his explanation was that "he was just bored, looking for some attention," and that he admitted it had been going on for about a year. In her words: "I was in shock. I was highly humiliated, and I was in a lot of pain." Rob hasn't made any public statement that we could find, so everything about his side comes through Tia.     HOW KIM RICHARDS' FIANCÉ WAS KILLED IN A "PAID HIT" 35 YEARS AGO

    Thirty-five years ago, Kim Richards' fiancé was shot in front of a lunch crowd, and prosecutors called it a paid hit. On this episode of The Salty Chip Podcast, Mackenzie and Isaac go deep on the 1991 murder of John Collett. In October 1991, Kim was 27 and engaged to Collett, a 29-year-old securities broker from Agoura Hills. He was a former stereo salesman who had been sober for eight years, he drove a Porsche, and according to his mom, he told Kim he'd been in love with her since he was 10 years old. His sister said it was "like a fairy tale."   We break down the Parker Bryant investment scandal that was swirling around him at the time. The California Department of Corporations filed a civil suit naming six defendants, Collett among them, alleging that up to 8,000 investors lost about $140 million in partnerships sold by the LA firm. An attorney for about 1,200 investors called Collett the scheme's "star salesman." These were allegations only. Collett's own lawyer called him "simply a salesman," he was never criminally charged, and he died before the civil case was resolved.   Then the murder itself. Around 1:30 PM on October 28, 1991, outside Brent's Deli in Northridge, a gunman talked with Collett for several minutes, put him in a headlock, and shot him in the back of the head. He didn't take Collett's cash or phone. A witness wrote down the getaway car's plate, and police traced it to Marva DeCarlo Johnson, a Pasadena computer technician with no criminal record. A business associate testified that hours after the shooting, Johnson said he'd been paid $30,000 "for a job." Johnson pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in 1993 and was sentenced to 30 years to life. The prosecutor wrote in court papers, "The killing was a paid hit," but refused to speculate on who hired Johnson because no evidence about a mastermind was ever presented.   We also cover Johnson's changing stories at his parole hearings, including his self-defense claims, which the parole board rejected when it denied him parole in 2015. We get into what's still unknown: who paid for the hit, who drove the getaway car, and whether the murder had anything to do with the fraud case. Police found no link in 1991, and prosecutors reportedly denied a connection. We walk through the theories that have circulated, and we're clear that they are only theories. Nobody has ever been publicly named or charged with ordering the killing. We close with Kim's side, including her emotional words on Dr. Phil in 2015: "There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him."     ERIKA HAMMOND WAS A MIDDLE SCHOOL BULLY!?! RHONY RECAP & MORE

    RHONY's billionaire newbie has been on our screens for about a month, and someone from her past is already claiming she was the mean girl. On this episode of The Salty Chip Podcast, Mackenzie and Isaac break down the bullying allegation against Erika Hammond. A TikTok creator named Hannah Stella claims she and Erika attended St. Louis school in Waco, Texas, for one semester of seventh grade, and that she had to transfer schools because Erika allegedly bullied her so badly. Hannah hasn't said what the alleged bullying involved, and she says she doesn't plan to. She says it happened about 20 years ago, that she has no beef, and that Erika is probably really nice now. As of October 10, Erika had not responded publicly. This is one person's account and it hasn't been verified, so we're treating it as an allegation.   The twist is the casting angle. Hannah says that when the RHONY reboot was first being cast, someone at Shed Media DMed her, and she filmed a casting tape but wasn't picked, while Erika eventually was. In her words, she could have had "a confrontation with my middle school bully on Bravo television and then had Andy Cohen ask us about it." We ask whether a seventh-grade story matters 20 years later, and whether it changes how we watch Erika this season.   Then we bridge into what RHONY fans are saying about Erika right now. In Episode 5, "Trouble in Paradise," Erika took the cast to Moskito Island in the British Virgin Islands, and Daisy and Erin Lichy were caught bad-mouthing the accommodations.     HALLE BERRY ACCUSED OF CHOKING HER SON: "WHO'S DOMINANT NOW?"

    Halle Berry is back in the headlines, and not because of a Kendrick Lamar lyric. On this episode of The Salty Chip Podcast, we break down Olivier Martinez’s October 1, 2026 court filing accusing the Oscar winner of physically abusing their 12-year-old son, Maceo, during a September 26 incident at her home. Martinez alleges Berry pushed Maceo during a VR game, called him “so stupid” and “such an idiot,” then jumped on him, put her hands around his neck, and choked him while shouting, “Who’s dominant now? Who’s dominant?” He says their son called him in a panic and asked to be picked up, and that Berry’s fiancé, musician Van Hunt, helped Maceo get his bags to the car. Martinez also claims this was not the first time, alleging Berry, who has MMA training, has repeatedly put Maceo in a chokehold until he tapped out and has slapped him at least twice. He is asking for sole legal and physical custody, a stay-away order, and sobriety testing. A judge issued a temporary order limiting Berry to daytime visits with no overnights ahead of an October 16 hearing. Berry has not given a personal interview. Her attorney, Marina Beck, told the Los Angeles Times and People the filing is entirely meritless and deliberately misleading, and accused Martinez of a documented history of erratic, possessive, and violent behavior.     IS CRIME JUNKIE UNRAVELING? VC MONEY, FAKE SPREADSHEETS & A $20M SUIT

    Crime Junkie built one of the biggest true crime podcast empires in America. Now Ashley Flowers and AudioChuck are facing canceled hits, CEO turnover, cratering employee morale, and a $20 million lawsuit that accuses the company of shorting its own hosts. This recap breaks down how a family-run show that started with $13,000 in savings became a cautionary tale about key man risk, venture capital, and what happens when the host IS the business. In June, Crime Junkie canceled The Deck, AudioChuck’s No. 2 show, even though it was pulling more than 300,000 downloads a week. Ashley said it was not about the numbers. Her daughter told her she worked too much, replacement hosts did not pass, and she told staff nobody was taking the company from her cold dead hands. That is classic key man risk: the audience wants Ashley in the chair, not a network of interchangeable shows. Kill it clean instead of watching the numbers drop 90 percent. Hard call. Probably the right one. The history is wild. Crime Junkie launched in 2017 with Ashley Flowers and best friend Brit Prawat. Early episodes were two friends talking cases they researched online. Two years later they were a top-five U.S. podcast. AudioChuck was a family shop: husband as CFO, siblings on staff, Brit’s husband writing the jingles. Then scale hit. A performance-based SiriusXM deal reportedly worth up to $50 million a year. An ex-VC consultant turned CEO. A 2023 partnership to chase male audiences with limited series, including a request for a Hawaii helicopter shoot on an audio-only show. Ashley ended that partnership. Kevin Mills was out in 2024. Chernin put in $40 million for a minority stake in 2025 as Hollywood chased a TV and video version of the brand. Reports put a Fox/Tubi package around $150 million. Matt Starker came in as CEO and was out by June 2026, replaced by former SoulCycle CEO Evelyn Webster. Meanwhile the product machine got squeezed. Staff dropped from about 100 to around 70. Employee satisfaction cratered. When The Deck died, the people on that show were gone with it. That is the private-equity pattern the hosts keep coming back to: maximize the take, loot the lettuce, and leave a corpse if you have to. The live grenade is the Anatomy of a Murder lawsuit. The show launched under AudioChuck in October 2020, ran 250-plus episodes, and approached 200 million downloads. Hosts Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi and Scott Weinberger, through Forseti Media and Weinberger Media, sued AudioChuck for breach of contract and breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing. Core claim: they did not get their contracted share of the SiriusXM ad deal. The suit says AudioChuck took the upside while the hosts ate lower payments and extra restrictions. They want at least $20 million. The numbers in the complaint are ugly. Their share was about $73,579 in December 2021, the last month before SiriusXM. It fell to $24,963 in January 2022 and $37,516 in February 2022 even though downloads stayed steady and AudioChuck had a minimum guarantee. AudioChuck has argued the SiriusXM deal was restructured and the company’s own take dropped. Then came the Zoom moment: a spreadsheet allegedly flashed on a call showing AudioChuck deducting its own talent-agency fees from money that should have been split with the hosts. The company first denied it, then conceded when shown the paperwork and repaid that piece. As of late September 2026 the case is in discovery. The hosts are not talking publicly. Discovery and depositions are going to be messy. Salty News roundup: Rebecca Loos is back on the David Beckham affair and says there were more women, another crack in the Brand Beckham perfect-family image. Milania Giudice bolted from Teresa, Gia, and a counselor at Tampa International Airport after leaving a Florida hospital; police were called and found her in minutes. And RHONY’s Jessel Taank is still doing the mean-girl bit, shading popcorn ceilings and missing the entire point of the franchise’s greatest-hits energy.     SPECIAL FORCES SEASON 5 CAST IS COMPLETELY UNHINGED

    Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season 5 just dropped celebrities into the Malaysian jungle, and the premiere was instantly messy. Brandi Glanville lasted one challenge. The first test was a backward helicopter dive into the water, she over-rotated, slammed in, and was medically withdrawn before base camp. Three months after a new breast implant following years of silicone complications, she showed up for extreme military selection. Classic Brandi. Reckless, chaotic, and somehow still iconic. The Bravo pipeline is fully on this show now. Mauricio Umansky signed up to test himself and brought daughter Alexia Umansky with him, saying they both have a screw loose. Kyle Richards' estranged husband and Buying Beverly Hills realtor barely got screen time in episode one, which means production is saving that father-daughter story. Alexia said she joined to prove grit beyond the family reality brand. Selling Sunset's Bre Tiesi, Full House's Candace Cameron Bure, Collin Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8, Oliver Hudson, Ruby Rose, David Charvet, Matt Barnes, LeSean McCoy, boxer Alycia Baumgardner, Olympian Maxim Naumov, and influencer Hannah Stocking round out a stacked, slightly deranged roster. Then there is George Santos. The expelled, convicted, later pardoned former congressman walked in calling himself a nuclear football, and the directing staff treated him like one. He actually passed the helicopter jump, then could not get onto the dock, rolled back into the water, and became the recruit they decided to break. The episode also dragged his 2022 campaign-finance circus: Hermes, Ferragamo, Botox, OnlyFans, fake personal loans, and money running through a super PAC. He tried to dress it up as "misappropriating funds." The instructors were not buying it. Whether he taps because they will not speak to him with respect or somehow lasts is the season question. Salty news dump: RHONY's Hailey Glassman is 39 and dated Jon Gosselin at 22. Shamia from RHOA spent $1.5 million renovating before she even became a Housewife. KJ Bierman's trial is public, but those phone videos are still locked down. Kenny and Whitney are officially engaged. Tom Sandoval wants The Valley, Nia and Dani look done, and Scheana and Brock are the rumored fill-in. Below Deck Med has Chef Joy and Cooper dating rumors after Kat unfollowed, then Joy posted a lonely joke to shut it down. This is the new celebrity pipeline.
