Thanks for connecting to nature with me on another episode of The Forest Connection! When the Forest Sets the Clock We live by the clock. We wake up at a certain time, eat lunch at a certain time, rush to appointments, watch the minutes tick away, and often measure our days by how much we managed to accomplish. But nature doesn't work that way. A forest doesn't know that it's 2:15. A tree doesn't worry about being behind schedule. The seasons arrive when they're ready, daylight changes gradually, and wildlife follows rhythms that have little to do with the numbers on our watches. In this episode of The Forest Connection, we'll explore the difference between clock time and forest time—and what might happen if we allowed ourselves to step outside of our usual relationship with time. Spending time in nature can change our perception of time. A walk that was supposed to take twenty minutes can stretch into an hour because we stopped to watch a bird, noticed a patch of moss, listened to the wind, or simply sat beneath a tree. And maybe that's not wasted time. Maybe it's a different way of experiencing time altogether. We'll talk about the pressure of constantly measuring our days, the natural rhythms that surround us, and how spending unhurried time in nature can help us reconnect with a slower, more attentive way of being. The forest isn't asking us to hurry. It isn't keeping score. It simply keeps unfolding, moment by moment. Maybe we can learn to do the same.
