Ep. 55: Our Smart Home Is Getting a Little TOO Smart

This week, Shane found a smart door opener that can literally open and close your doors for you—which sounds amazing… until Caroline starts thinking about hackers, AI, getting locked inside the house, and all the ways it could be used to terrorize the kids (which could be fun...). We get into the smart home upgrades we actually want, why fingerprints still matter on smart locks, Caroline’s campaign for smart curtains, whether Apple is EVER going to release its rumored smart home display, and why AI could finally make smart homes interesting again. Then somehow robot lawn mowers lead to an argument about who actually does yard work, the internet roasting our fence, whether the giant trampoline needs to go, and Caroline making a very passionate case for leopard-print cushions on the back porch. Plus: gray sweatpants and backwards hat season, Shane’s inability to buy Caroline clothes, and a surprisingly sweet MySpace love story from one of you. Just a normal week around here. --- 🎙️ New episodes every week📺 Watch/listen on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get podcasts *💬 SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS:*Got a topic or question for us? Ep 54: We Made Dating Profiles… We’re Screwed

What would our dating profiles look like if we suddenly had to start over in 2026? Apparently… not great. This week starts on a much more serious note after a scary situation at our daughter’s school left us a bit shaken right before filming the episode. Thankfully, everything turned out okay, but it was one of those parenting moments that drains every bit of energy out of you. Then we desperately needed to lighten things up. So we decided to answer dating-app prompts and build the profiles we’d have if we were single today. Bucket lists, greatest strengths, love languages, biggest risks, dating dealbreakers… and somehow Shane’s entire profile basically becomes Apple, dessert, and food. We also get into whether we’d actually use dating apps, blind-date photo shoots, why Caroline would absolutely run a background check, old movie quotes, and much more. Turns out we should probably just stay married. Thanks for hanging out with us! Ep. 53: My Wife Loved When I Left… 😂 | IFA Berlin Trip, Apple’s Foldable iPhone & CES Chaos

We’re back after a little hiatus, and apparently Caroline had a GREAT time while Shane was gone. 😂 Shane finally made it home from events in Boston and Berlin, Germany after basically forgetting what sleep feels like. So this week is a genuine catch-up. Caroline tells him why the house was suspiciously peaceful without him, what solo parenting while sick actually looked like, and why she maybe could’ve handled him staying gone a little longer. Then we get into the important stuff: sex robots, a robot with an unnecessarily large butt, tech concepts that probably shouldn’t exist, robot vacuums and mowers we’d actually buy, and what Shane really thought about IFA this year. We also get into Apple’s new foldable iPhone, that $2,000 price tag, all the Apple rumors that never came true, Vision Pro, and whether Shane should finally branch out and make iPhone videos. Plus, we’re already talking CES — except this year we’re bringing our child. Caroline has given her exactly one rule: do. not. complain. Basically… marriage, parenting, travel disasters, weird tech, Apple, and the usual nonsense. Thanks for hanging out with us. ❤️ --- 🎙️ New episodes every week📺 Watch on YouTube or listen wherever you get podcasts *💬 SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS:*Got a topic or question for us? Ep 52: What’s Off Limits Once You’re Married?

Caroline had a girls’ night last night…and showed up to record this episode with one of the worst hangovers of her life. So naturally, that leads us into a completely reasonable conversation about marriage boundaries. 😂 How late is too late to stay out without your spouse? Is it okay to accept a drink from another guy? What about opposite-sex friends, texting an ex, having a “work husband” or “work wife,” strip clubs, giving someone your Instagram, or following thirst trap accounts? We go through a whole list of situations and decide what we’re personally okay with, what feels disrespectful, and what is an immediate absolutely-not. Plus, Caroline embarrasses Shane, we confess one of our worst parenting moments ever, and somehow a smart lamp becomes part of the hangover recovery process. As always, these are just our opinions and what works in our marriage. Let us know where YOUR lines are because we already know some of y’all are going to disagree with us. --- 🎙️ New episodes every week📺 Watch on YouTube or listen wherever you get podcasts *💬 SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS:*Got a topic or question for us? Ep 51: Men vs. Women: The Double Standards That Start Fights

This week we’re talking double standards between men and women—and apparently trying to start a fight in our own marriage while we’re at it. Who should make the first move? Should the man always pay for the date? Is it weird to have a best friend of the opposite sex when you’re married? Why can women turn down sex without anyone thinking twice, but when a husband does it once his wife immediately wonders what’s wrong? Then we get into who’s supposed to provide, stay-at-home dads vs. stay-at-home moms, girls trips and guys trips, spending $2,000 on golf clubs vs. a purse, dads getting praised for basic parenting, and the never-ending argument over cooking, laundry, yard work, and the dreaded honey-do list. That part gets a little personal. 😂 We definitely don’t agree on all of these, and we’re not trying to tell anybody how their relationship should work. We’re just saying what works—or occasionally does not work—for us. Also, somehow we made it to Episode 51 and officially passed one year of the Wife Approved Podcast. We’re still here. Somehow. Let us know which double standards you think are actually real, which ones are BS, and which ones we completely missed. --- 🎙️ New episodes every week📺 Watch on YouTube or listen wherever you get podcasts *💬 SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS:*Got a topic or question for us? Ep 50: Your Mood Is Affecting Your Marriage More Than You Think

Apparently, being in a bad mood is a team sport when you’re married. This week we’re talking about how much your spouse’s mood can rub off on you, Caroline’s luteal phase making another appearance, and Shane realizing that creativity can affect his mood as well.  That turns into a bigger conversation about the way we affect the people closest to us — including how the things we say to our kids can eventually become the voice inside their own heads. Caroline also looks back at becoming a mom so young, being 16 and pregnant, parenting in survival mode, and why she still wouldn’t change the way things worked out. Then we answer a listener question about what our actual workday looks like now that we both work on the business full-time. Who does what, why we mostly work in separate rooms, the ridiculous contracts brands send creators, and how we try to keep working from home from taking over our entire lives. Basically: hormones, marriage, parenting, work, and Shane’s unnecessarily loud coffee grinder. Ep. 48: Is Vacation With Kids REALLY a Vacation?

We’re back from vacation—and apparently one week off is enough to forget how to podcast. We recap the trip, the queen-size bed that tested our marriage, and whether traveling with kids actually counts as a vacation. Then Marriage Court returns with mixed signals and a tough question: When is it time to stop chasing someone and start rebuilding your own life?It gets honest, a little heavy, and—as usual—slightly inappropriate. --- 🎙️ New episodes every week📺 Watch on YouTube or listen wherever you get podcasts *💬 SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS:*Got a topic or question for us?
