Your Body Was Protecting You All Along - Trauma, Your Body and Healing Deeply

If you've ever wondered where the chronic tightness in your shoulders comes from, the mirror you'd rather avoid or the pleasure you can't fully open up to receive - it could be because your body is holding onto something to protect you (like it needed to in the past.)  The reality is, so much of how you've thought about and experienced your body - is rooted in trauma and adaptive patterns.  But a conscious, loving relationship with your body in the here and now isn't guided by protective habits alone, it's also resourced in soul alignment, you standing in your power and a nervous system that can hold goodness too.  In this episode, we'll unpack how trauma impacts your body and what it looks like to heal deeply - in a holistic yoga therapy based method.  - - - Ready to put this into practice? I Cried Recording This — On Giving MySelf Permission and Why Yoga Needs to Go Deep Again

I almost didn't make this episode. It's the most personal thing I've shared in a while — and at one point I just stopped and cried, right there into the mic. This is me working through a paradigm shift I've been sitting in for months: owning that after seventeen years, I'm not a beginner yoga therapist figuring it out anymore. I'm a senior one. And that comes with a responsibility I've been hesitant to fully claim — to speak honestly about what's happened to yoga over the last twenty years, as it moved from weird and deep to widely available, and in that spread, became diluted. Surface level. Fitness oriented. A stress reliever you do for 15 minutes and forget. In this episode I talk about why yoga has always been about healing and integration, not just exercise — and why, in a world accelerating into AI and disconnection, we need practices that turn us inward more than ever. I talk about devotion. About what it means to actually identify as a woman who practices — not occasionally, but as a real part of who you are, with a system and a village around you that helps you fill the gaps when life gets hard. This one is raw, it's honest, and I think it might be exactly what some of you have been needing to hear. Beyond Calm - What Yoga Actually Does to Your Nervous System Over Time

You know yoga makes you feel better. But do you know why? And more importantly — do you know what becomes possible when your nervous system actually heals over time? In this episode of The Nourished Woman Podcast somatic yoga therapist Keri Marino gets personal and conversational about what nervous system healing actually looks and feels like from the inside — for real women living real lives. Keri opens with her own past experiences of deep nervous system dysregulation — what it felt like in her body, her relationships and her daily life — and walks you through how somatic yoga therapy changed everything. Not in a clinical way. In a woman to woman way that will make you feel deeply seen. This episode covers what your nervous system is actually doing and why it matters for your healing, what expanding your nervous system capacity actually feels like — and why it's about so much more than just calming down, how healing your nervous system opens you up to pleasure, to feeling good in your body, to intimacy, to abundance and to life itself, why inner work and somatic yoga therapy work together as a complete method and how to actually start doing this work in your real life. Because the goal was never just calm. The goal is a bigger more alive more free experience of being human.💜 Come Home to Your Body - free somatic yoga practice for women ->https://kerimarino.eo.page/comehome Daily Devotion - 21 day therapeutic home yoga practice  -> https://www.kerimarino.com/daily-devotion-21-day-program.html The Nourished Woman Sanctuary - on-demand and live somatic yoga for women ready to feel wildly whole & free -> https://www.kerimarino.com/the-nourished-woman-sanctuary.html If this episode resonated, share it with a woman who needs it and leave a review on Apple Podcasts.  Connect with Keri at https://www.kerimarino.com/ and @the_nourished_woman

The Truth About Trauma, Yoga and What Actually Heals with Liz Albanis

What does trauma-informed yoga actually mean — and does all yoga heal, or can some of it hurt? In this episode somatic yoga therapist Keri Marino sits down with Liz Albanis, Australian yoga therapist and host of the Yoga for Trauma: The Inner Fire of Yoga Podcast, for one of the most honest conversations this show has had about trauma, the body and what healing with yoga actually looks like. They cover what trauma really is beyond the dramatic version, why not all yoga is created equal for trauma recovery, the red flags to watch for in yoga spaces, what a genuinely supportive practice actually feels like from the inside — and where these two experienced practitioners see things differently. If you're looking for an honest, expert take on how to heal through a yogic based approach. This one is for you.  - - -  Ready to put this into practice? Break Free From Shame — How It Lives in Your Body and How Yoga Helps You Heal with Christy Bonner

Shame doesn't just live in your thoughts. It lives in your body. And healing it requires more than just understanding it. In this episode of The Nourished Woman Podcast, Keri Marino sits down with Christy Bonner — licensed marriage and family therapist, certified Enneagram teacher, 500-hour yoga teacher and author of Freedom from Shame — for one of the most honest and illuminating conversations about shame, healing and liberation you'll hear. Christy brings a rare combination of clinical depth, spiritual wisdom and personal vulnerability to this conversation — and together they go places most wellness podcasts never go. In this episode you'll discover the critical difference between shame and guilt — and why getting this wrong keeps women stuck, how shame lives in the body and why healing it requires a bottom-up approach not just insight and understanding, the three ways women respond to shame — moving toward, moving away and moving against — and what each reveals about your nervous system, how religious trauma and rigid faith systems create some of the deepest shame wounds and what freedom from that actually looks like, what the Enneagram shame triad reveals about types 2, 3 and 4 — and how all nine types carry shame differently, what it actually feels like when shame stops running your life — in your body, your relationships and your capacity to take up space in the world and how yoga uniquely heals shame by working on the body, mind, spirit and life simultaneously. Shame loves secrecy. This conversation is the sunlight. 🕯️ Come Home to Your Body - free somatic yoga practice for women ->https://kerimarino.eo.page/comehome Daily Devotion - 21 day therapeutic home yoga practice  -> https://www.kerimarino.com/daily-devotion-21-day-program.html The Nourished Woman Sanctuary - on-demand and live somatic yoga for women ready to feel wildly whole & free -> https://www.kerimarino.com/the-nourished-woman-sanctuary.html If this episode resonated, share it with a woman who needs it and leave a review on Apple Podcasts.  Connect with Keri at https://www.kerimarino.com/ and @the_nourished_woman Connect with Christy at www.mindbodyandspirit.com, @enneagram.yoga or her podcast Enneagram + Yoga.
