Stage 33 Live

Stage 33 Live is a nonprofit DIY listening room with a throwback vibe in an industrial-rustic former factory with 40 seats on an island in the rural Vermont village of Bellows Falls on the Connecticut River bordering New Hampshire, run entirely by volunteers. We’re the middle path between the high quality of a classy performance center but without the swank, and the relaxed comfort of a welcoming little dive pub but without the bar. The room has mostly defined itself as an acoustic singer-songwriter place, but we also run jazz, pop, spoken word, rock, and more. Only original material that the performer has copyright to is allowed, or material from the public domain. All the ticket money goes to the performers. Primarily featuring regional, local, and national emerging talent, we’re for people who thrive on discovery and revel in the immersion of connecting deeply with performances in an intimate setting. The podcast assembles live-performance clips — one-and-done and warts and all — from the Stage 33 Live video archive, each episode gathered casually around a loose theme. New episodes come out on the third Thursday of every month in both audio and video formats on your favorite platform. For more information about everything, see our uncomfortably dense website at www.stage33live.com ** All performers have copyright in the material they performed, and they have directly granted us performance, mechanical, and synchronization rights by signature. Performance Rights Organization and Mechanical / Synchronization Licensing Agent affiliate contracts are non-exclusive, and rights-holders can directly grant these rights.

Stage 33 Live Podcast: B'bye (for now)

Hi folks, Well, the Stage 33 Live podcast has come to an end, for now at least. Past episodes will continue to be available at stage33live.com/podcast but they'll probably disappear from most of the services that are currently carrying it. The pretty much daily performance video singles on our YouTube channel, which continues to enjoy organic growth, will keep coming. That's at youtube.com/stage33live ... If you want to be alerted when we post new clips, subscribe to that YouTube channel and click the bell icon when you do because if you don't you won't get the alerts. Thanks for your diligence. We knew that the podcast field was saturated before we dipped our toes in, so it's not really a surprise that at the end of its first year, uptake hasn't been anywhere near strong enough for us to warrant the time and effort needed to keep doing it. It was a fulfilling exercise, but everything we do is on a volunteer basis with a skeleton crew, and those limited resources can be put to better use. In the last hundred eighty days, the episodes have been accessed in Germany more than twice as much as in the USA. Yay, Germany! Japan came up in third place. We will welcome our German and Japanese friends to the room whenever you're in the area. We'll welcome pretty much anybody though. Thanks for taking this ride with us, you mighty army of dozens. We appreciate you.
