I have been enjoying these podcasts so much, the 5 episodes so much. I have learned new things, and remembered passages from my school years.
This last episode about Livia Drusila was my favorite. I never heard of her before, but she was definitely a fascinating woman and apparently a significant influence. Great pieces of information, and i specially appreciated the information given by Jackie. She gave specific details that only a person with certain expertise can provide.
The episode was insightful, fun, interesting, and informative. Cannot wait for the next one. 😊
Episode on 11/15 about Sulla was very interesting. He was definitely quite a character and to me, in a very short way to describe him, he could have been able to say “he did it his way!
Episode on 12/6 about Boudica gave me mixed emotions, feelings, ideas.
While the result of her actions and rebellions were atrocious, I, as you discussed in the podcast, understand that she was probably upset and responding to what the Romans did to her daughters. In addition, she was already unhappy because of the Romans invasion of their land, and collecting taxes. It was actually too much to deal with. So, while, again, I think she was really a “dangerous person”, I totally understand her anger and frustration.
I think that also it is hard to believe that she was able to cause such get destruction. You would probably expect that from a man, but I think she was definitely dangerous, strong, and had clear convictions. So, i definitely see why she was a well known figure and why we are still studying about her at the present time. The podcast was interesting and well presented. I enjoyed it a lot. Great job.
