In this episode of All About Nothing with J, I'm sharing the emotional roller coaster of finding out that my oldest son, Gerger, is thinking about moving to Michigan with his friend. MICHIGAN, MI GENTE! 😂 First Japan, now Michigan? Apparently, my son has made it his personal mission to test his Puerto Rican mother's emotional stability, one destination at a time! Caffeine & Chaos: I Am Officially Retiring as the Family Manager

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! After 53 years of dedicated service, countless reminders, unanswered questions, and locating things that were literally right in front of everyone's faces… I QUIT! 😂☕ In this hilarious and relatable episode of All About Nothing with J, I'm officially announcing my retirement as the family's unpaid CEO, personal assistant, calendar coordinator, GPS, and emergency problem-solving department. And what pushed me over the edge? A ZOOM LINK! Yes, mi gente. One simple Zoom link turned into a full-blown realization about motherhood, marriage, mental load, and the exhausting responsibility of being the person everyone depends on. As a Gen X Puerto Rican mom of three, wife, and full-time working woman navigating midlife, I've spent decades anticipating everyone's needs, solving problems, and keeping the family running. But somewhere along the way, I forgot that my peace matters, too. We're talking about the invisible mental load women carry, setting boundaries with adult children and spouses, learning to let go of control, and rediscovering ourselves in midlife. Of course, we're doing it with plenty of sarcasm, laughter, and caffeine-fueled chaos! Because here's my new philosophy: My love is unconditional. My administrative services are NOT! 😂 If you've ever repeated yourself seven times, searched for something somebody else couldn't find, or wondered why you're the only person in the house who knows what's going on, this episode is for YOU! Grab your cafecito, mi gente. The family manager has officially left the building! 💬 Let's talk! What's ONE family responsibility you're ready to retire from? 💙 CONNECT WITH J 🌐 Website: https://allaboutnothingwithj.com 📸 Instagram: @all_about_nothing_with_j ▶️ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@allaboutnothingwithj 🎧 Listen to the podcast wherever you get your podcasts! ☕ Support the Podcast: https://buymeacoffee.com/AllAboutNothingWithJ 🛍️ SHOP MY FAVORITE DEALS — CODEADX Check out my favorite brands, exclusive discounts, and promo codes! https://mydeals.page/17lw Some links may be affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. When Grief and Family Break Your Heart, But Love Holds You Together!

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! What happens when you're grieving the loss of loved ones while also dealing with disappointment and betrayal from the very people you thought would stand beside you? Hey, hey, mi gente! ❤️ This episode is different. It's raw, emotional, vulnerable, and straight from my heart. I'm taking you back to 1991, when I met my husband on our very first day of college. We were friends for three years before our love story began, and more than three decades later, we're still navigating life's unexpected twists, heartbreaks, and beautiful moments together. But lately, life has been testing us in ways we never imagined. Between losing loved ones, navigating complicated family relationships, dealing with broken trust, and watching someone I love struggle through grief, I've learned that sometimes the people who disappoint us the most are the ones we least expect. In this deeply personal episode, we're talking about: Grief and loss: Finding your footing when life keeps delivering heartbreak.Family betrayal and disappointment: When trust is broken during an already painful time.Marriage and unconditional support: Standing beside your partner when you can't fix what's hurting them.Anger, forgiveness, and boundaries: Learning that protecting your peace doesn't mean you don't care.Healing and moving forward: Choosing love, laughter, and the life you've built instead of allowing bitterness to take over. There are no perfect answers here, mi gente. Just a Gen X Puerto Rican woman trying to make sense of life's chaos while holding on to the people and things that matter most. Because sometimes being strong doesn't mean holding everything together. Sometimes it means admitting you're hurting, too. ❤️ LET'S TALK, MI GENTE! Have you ever experienced betrayal or disappointment from someone you loved while you were already going through a difficult time? How did you find the strength to move forward? I'd love to hear your story. You never know who might need to hear they're not alone. 🎧 CONNECT WITH J 🌐 Website: https://allaboutnothingwithj.com 📸 Instagram: @allaboutnothingwithj ☕ SUPPORT THE SHOW — BUY ME A COFFEE Love the conversations, laughter, and occasional chaos? One Year Later: Let Me Reintroduce Myself

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! My apologies one day later! Had tech difficulties! What happens when you hit your 50s, life changes almost overnight, and you're left trying to figure out who you are now? Welcome to midlife. All About Nothing with J officially turned ONE—and somehow, I completely missed my own podcast anniversary. But considering this past year included grief, losing both of my in-laws nine days apart, my husband being laid off, moving across the country, raising three boys, navigating perimenopause, starting over at 53, and trying to rediscover myself in midlife… I think I deserve a pass. So this week, we're going back to the beginning. For all my new listeners, I'm reintroducing myself and sharing the very first episode of All About Nothing with J—exactly as it was when I recorded it. The woman who started this podcast was 51 and about to turn 52. Today, I'm 53. A lot can happen in a year. This episode is about midlife reinvention, grief, motherhood, marriage, starting over after 50, Gen X life, perimenopause, family, change, and finding yourself again when life doesn't go according to plan. And of course, we're laughing too—because if you're a Gen X woman trying to survive adulthood, motherhood, hormones, marriage, aging parents, teenagers, work, and whatever fresh nonsense life has scheduled for Tuesday… you've found your people. Whether you've been listening since Episode 1 or you're brand new to the podcast, grab your coffee and come hang out with me. I’m 52… and I’m Still Figuring Out Who I Am

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! You would think that by 52, I’d have this whole “who am I?” thing figured out. Yeah… apparently not. 😂 In my 20s, I swear I knew EXACTLY who I was. I was confident, I knew what I liked, I knew what I didn’t like, and nobody could tell me anything. Then life happened. I became a wife. A mother. I built a career. I raised kids. I took care of my family. I became the person everybody needed me to be. And somewhere along the way, I stopped asking a pretty important question: Who is J outside of all those titles? In this episode of All About Nothing with J., I’m talking about what it feels like to reach midlife and realize that while I can give you a VERY detailed list of everything I don’t want anymore 😂… I’m still figuring out what I do want. Who am I when I’m not being Mom, wife, employee, caretaker, problem-solver, scheduler, or the person making sure everybody has toilet paper upstairs? I don’t have the answer yet. And maybe that’s okay. Maybe not knowing who you are right now doesn’t mean you’re lost. Maybe it just means you’re changing. So if you’ve ever looked at the life you built and thought, “I love these people. I’m proud of this life. But… where am I in all of this?” — come sit with me. Because apparently we’re all still figuring out adulthood together. 😂❤️ 🎧 Listen, follow, and share All About Nothing with J. with somebody who might need this conversation too. ⭐ If you enjoy the show, please take a minute to follow, rate, and leave a review. I’m 52 and I’m Done Doing Things I Don’t Want to Do

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! At 52, I’ve officially reached the point where I’m done doing things I don’t want to do. And no, I’m not talking about paying bills, going to work, or all the other crap adulthood still requires from us. Unfortunately, I checked—we still have to do those things. I’m talking about saying yes when you really mean NO. Going places because you feel obligated. Over-explaining your decisions. Holding onto relationships just because there’s history. And worrying that choosing yourself somehow makes you selfish. In this episode of All About Nothing with J, we’re talking about what happens when you finally realize your time, energy, and peace matter too. Maybe getting older isn’t just about what we lose. Maybe it’s also about what we finally give ourselves permission to put down. So grab your coffee, get comfortable, and let’s talk about why “I don’t want to” might actually be reason enough. And then tell me: What’s ONE thing you’re officially done doing just because other people expect you to? 🌐 COME HANG OUT WITH ME Website: AllAboutNothingWithJ.com Instagram: @All_About_Nothing_WithJ If this episode made you laugh, think, or say “Girl, SAME,” share it with somebody who needs to hear it. The Hardest Decision We've Ever Made: Grief, Layoffs, and Starting Over

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! The Hardest Decision We’ve Ever Made: Grief, Layoffs, and Starting Over Sometimes life doesn’t give you time to recover from one thing before the next thing hits. In this episode of All About Nothing with J, I’m sharing one of the most personal chapters of our lives. Within nine days, my husband lost both of his parents. Then, just two weeks after their funerals, he lost his job. Grief. Loss. Uncertainty. And suddenly, decisions we thought we had years to make were sitting right in front of us. We had to make one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made: Do we stay where we are and hold on to what feels safe… or do we take a chance, pack up our lives, and start over? This episode is about what happens when life changes without asking your permission. It’s about grieving the people you love, dealing with the fear that comes with losing financial security, making huge decisions when you’re already emotionally exhausted, and realizing that sometimes starting over isn’t part of the plan — it becomes the plan. If you’ve ever experienced a season where everything seemed to fall apart at once, this episode is for you. We’re talking about grief, marriage, family, fear, faith, uncertainty, and finding the courage to move forward when you have absolutely no idea what the next chapter is going to look like. Because sometimes the hardest decision you’ll ever make is also the decision that changes everything. 🎙️ All About Nothing with J If this episode resonates with you, please follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who might need to hear it. ☕ SUPPORT THE SHOW — BUY ME A COFFEE If you enjoy the show and want to support All About Nothing with J, you can Buy Me a Coffee.
