He consistently urged His followers to reorient their priorities away from the fleeting security of this world, famously commanding in the Sermon on the Mount: "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal." (Matthew 6:19-20)These heavenly treasures represent the enduring value of a life lived in alignment with God's will, suggesting that our actions in time ripple into eternity with profound significance. Ultimately, the promise of heaven stands as the anchor for the soul amidst the trials of earthly existence. Jesus comforted His disciples on the eve of His crucifixion by framing eternity as a welcoming home prepared specifically for them, promising: "In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
