S5, E1 - Uncommon Biblical Truths - Marriage and Relationships

S5, E1 – Uncommon Biblical Truths – Marriage and Relationships Welcome to Uncommon Biblical Truths on Marriage and Relationships. Let's begin with some statistics when it comes to the end of important relationships, especially marriages. Well, of course you’re going to find great information at various law firms. So from Terry and Roberts law dot com, and what this law firm did was to look at the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control. They present that the current divorce rate nationwide is about 42%.  Now, if you quickly look at that, it sounds like well then the majority of people in their marriages are going to make it, but that means that number is 58% of marriages not ending in divorce. But the question is, Is 58% really a success? Compare this score to a report card. Is this score or grade worth bragging about? well I think not.  We don't stop to think that our children are learning how to do the same thing.  So I have a disclaimer for you in this first episode and through all episodes of this Series Five, when it comes to any type of category of relationship that is outside of the scope of the Bible, I will have no judgment. I will only refer to the relationship and marriage between two people that is consistent with the Holy Bible. That is the relationship between male and female, between a husband and a wife, and the relationship between he and she. And I use the King James Version.  Couples in this dynamic have to play the game of give and take. Social media and internet platforms are replete with quality videos and playing the game. But our human nature most always chooses to take more than to give. And some people take 100%, somebody has to give nearly 100%. So I’m here to tell you in this December 2025, and something most of you have learned to the hard way. And that is love is not enough, because there's life. You can love, someone fall in love. They can be the love of your life, but love is not enough because there is life. Life will get in the way, life will get in the way of love, and most fall in and out of love for very selfish reasons. You think love conquers all. But if that was true for us, then the statistics for successful marriages would be much higher than 58%. And it is said that love conquers all. But the only person that that belief is true is in Christ Jesus alone.  After all, for what we know in John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe it in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   References: https://terryandrobertslaw.com/blog/divorce-rate-facts/ https://www.wf-lawyers.com/divorce-statistics-and-facts/ https://www.yellinlaw.com/blog-articles/lack-of-communication-leading-cause-of-divorce/#:~:text=Lack%20of%20Communication%20Leading%Cause,Yellin%2C%20LLC Please follow, like, and share with someone you love and care for.
