Is Being Rich HARAM? The Truth About Wealth That Muslims Get Wrong!

Is Wealth HARAM in Islam? Welcome back to The Muslim Recharge, and السلام عليكم. Let me ask you something. Is it wrong for a Muslim to want to be rich? Is it wrong to dream about owning a beautiful house, driving a Lexus, or building a successful business? And if Allah blesses you with wealth, are you supposed to hide it? These questions might sound simple, but growing up, many of us hear completely different answers. One person tells you to work hard and become financially successful. Someone else warns you that chasing money will destroy your relationship with Allah. So which one is right? And where exactly does Islam draw the line? The Balance of Wealth Imagine growing up hearing your father say, "Find any halal job that allows you to provide for your family." That sounds reasonable. Then, another day, he tells you that starting your own business is even better. You could set your own schedule, make your own decisions, and have more freedom to observe your religious obligations. Then he adds something else. There's nothing wrong with making a lot of money, as long as you stay grounded. Here's what we need to understand. Islam does not measure success the same way the world does. In the world around us, success is often measured by what people can see. Your salary, your house, your car, your clothes, and how many people recognize your name. But in Islam, ultimate success is الفلاح. It's about attaining Allah's pleasure and succeeding in the Hereafter. Responsibilities of Wealth That doesn't mean your worldly life is unimportant. It means your worldly achievements must serve something greater. Allah سبحانه وتعالى tells us to seek the Hereafter through what He has given us, without forgetting our lawful share of this world. He commands goodness and warns against spreading corruption. Wealth can become a means of tremendous good, but it can also become a source of serious accountability. Islam isn't teaching you to hate money. It's teaching you not to become controlled by it. So whether you're hoping to become a doctor, engineer, teacher, business owner, or something completely different, pursue your goals with good intentions. Learn to manage your money responsibly. Avoid prohibited sources of income. Fulfill your responsibilities, and remember the rights of others. May Allah grant us lawful and blessed provision, protect us from arrogance and envy, and place contentment in our hearts. Until next time, this is The Muslim Recharge. May Allah bless you, guide you, and keep your heart connected to Him. السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته. Support the show

You Committed a Major Sin in Your Dream… Will Allah Punish You?

Exploring Dreams and Accountability in Islam Welcome back to The Muslim Recharge... and السلام عليكم. Imagine waking up from a dream, feeling absolutely terrified. Not because something frightening happened to you, but because you were the one doing something wrong. Today, we're talking about dreams and accountability in Islam, the tricks of الشيطان, and something beautiful about Allah's mercy. What happens inside your dreams is not the same as what you consciously choose to do while you're awake. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ explained that the pen of accountability is lifted from three: a sleeping person until they wake up, a child until reaching maturity, and someone deprived of sound reason until reason returns. Even if you feel aware during a dream, that experience doesn't make you sinful for what happens inside it. Allah knows the difference between what you consciously choose and what happens beyond your control. Dealing with Disturbing Dreams Imagine if every nightmare became something you had to answer for. But Allah does not require of a soul more than it can bear. If you experience a troubling dream, you can seek refuge in Allah and follow the Sunnah. Spit lightly to your left three times. Seek refuge in Allah from الشيطان. Turn onto your other side. Remember, not every strange dream comes from الشيطان. The Sunnah teaches us not to become consumed by disturbing dreams. Before Sleep: Embracing the Sunnah Before going to sleep, perform وضوء and recite protective verses. The Prophet ﷺ taught us to lie on our right side and recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, and An-Nas. Ending your day with trust in Allah is a beautiful practice. May Allah protect our hearts, grant us peaceful sleep, and keep us firm upon what is right. Until next time, remember Allah and keep your hearts connected to Him. Support the show
