    S2 E3: Xaden's Anatomy! DWTS Drama, Cold Pop-Tarts, and Birds in His Pants

    Gardner's Book Report returns, and Fourth Wing has a new name: Xaden's Anatomy. He knows more about Xaden than about any dragon, and Michelle swears the next book has more dragons in it. Before that, the house is decorated for Halloween and Gardner is building a smoke machine. Then we talk about The Traitors' slow start and the apple toss, why you need to watch Mike Flanagan's Carrie this October, and why Rings of Power makes us excited for a Fourth Wing series. On Dancing With the Stars, Guillermo is finally out, Carrie Ann calls out Jenna's lift, and Val's "Fresh Prince" Instagram post gets him benched. Then the Pop-Tart debate gets heated: cherry versus strawberry, and toasted versus cold. In Toddler Timeout, we take our toddler to Boo at the Zoo, where she yells "trick or treat" until we get to a tent and then whispers it. She also cheers "Touchdown!" for the Browns while the Ravens are losing.     S2 E2: Divergent With Dragons! Fourth Wing, Ravens in Rio, and a Haunted House

    Gardner's Book Report is officially a segment. Michelle is on the third Fourth Wing book and finally got Gardner to put down his 1935 novel about fascism in America long enough to start book one. His review so far: Divergent with dragons, plus one main character who needs to stop staring at a guy's lips and focus on staying alive. Before that, Big Brother has a new king. Rick Devens won season 28, and we have notes for everyone online claiming he only won because of advantages. On Dancing With the Stars, we want to know how Guillermo got 4s in week four and is still dancing. Then we go through The New York Times' list of the 100 best TV shows of the 21st century, and somebody needs to explain 30 Rock beating The Office. In Toddler Timeout, our almost-three-year-old asks for everything three times minimum, the Halloween costumes are set (two witches and one kitty cat), and her cardboard haunted house has become a battle between Dad's careful orange pumpkin and her black marker. The NFL Timeout covers the Ravens' walk-off win over the Cowboys in Rio, the Titans game we went to in the rain, ending up on the jumbotron (and the text Gardner got from a client who saw it), Lamar's ankle, the refs, the Steelers, Jayden Daniels' elbow, and Marlon Humphrey's week in the news.     We're Back: Big Brother, Harbaugh's Giants, and a White Tiger Halloween | The Family Timeout S2E01

    We're back! Season 2 of The Family Timeout Podcast starts where every good marriage does: arguing about TV. Michelle has been living and breathing Big Brother, we're deep in Married at First Sight and Love Is Blind UK, and Michelle has one request for anyone praising the Silo show. Read the books first. Gardner responds by bringing up Common's acting range, which goes about as well as you'd expect. In Toddler Timeout, our daughter picks everyone's Halloween costume. She's a kitty cat, Mom is a ghost (again), and Dad is a white tiger, the leader of the kitty cats. We have no idea where she learned about white tigers. Then it's the NFL. The Ravens looked like a Super Bowl team for a half, then played down to the Saints. We get into the Bateman interception, why nobody has ever been afraid of the Cowboys, whether we miss John Harbaugh now that he's running the Giants, Jayden Daniels' elbow, Aaron Rodgers' version of accountability, and Jameis Winston laughing about the crab legs.
