    “Mad but real.” That's how Tony Gilroy described his goal for ANDOR in his original manifesto for the series. It's one of the many, many, many, insights included in the newly released book "The Art of Star Wars: Andor" by Phil Szostak. We originally had different plans for this Detour, but once we cracked this big boy open, we knew we had to detour from the detour and talk to you about our first impressions. Also, his escape plan involves a toilet. But no, we’re not talking about Cassian Andor on Narkina 5! Of course we're talking about William Holden’s J.J. Sefton in Billy Wilder’s 1953 prison-of-war camp classic, Stalag 17. For this week’s Andorks Detour, Rusteen and Alex get lost somewhere on the Danube river to discuss the Academy Award winning movie, the long history of prison break films, and debate if, or how, the film influenced Tony Gilroy in creating ANDOR.
