    You Win the Battle When You Praise | Pastor Mark Knight | August 23rd, 2026

    What if the very act of praise was not a response to victory, but the pathway to it? Drawing from Psalm 145, the final psalm David ever wrote, we explore one of the most counterintuitive truths in the life of faith: that praise is not something we offer after God shows up, but something we offer so that we are positioned to recognize him when he does. David, a man who had seen the highest highs and lowest lows a human life can hold, did not write at the end of his life about his accomplishments or his failures. He wrote about God. Every single day, not just in moments of breakthrough, not just on Sunday mornings, but every day. We are challenged to ask ourselves an honest question: is our praise truly upward focused, or is it inward focused, a transaction we complete once our needs are met? The deeper invitation here is to move from a consumer posture in our faith to a contributor posture, where our worship flows not from what God has done for us in a given moment, but from who God is eternally. That kind of praise changes us from the inside out.

When we understand the honor-shame culture surrounding these parables, we realize just how radical and subversive Jesus was being. He was declaring that heaven throws a bigger party over one repentant sinner than over ninety-nine who never strayed. That is not just good news for the broken and the outcast. It is a rebuke to anyone who has ever believed their rule-following earned them a higher place in God's heart. This message invites us to examine whether we are truly in the party, or standing outside in the cold, convinced we deserve to be there more than someone else.

    Against All Odds | Pastor Jonny Williams | August 9th, 2026

    What do you do when the odds are completely stacked against you? When the numbers do not add up, the resources are not there, and every circumstance seems to be working against you? In 2 Chronicles 14, we find King Asa facing exactly that kind of moment. His army was outnumbered nearly two to one, and the enemy had hundreds of war chariots while Judah had none worth mentioning. By every human measure, the battle was already lost before it began. Yet the outcome was total victory. The key was not military strategy or superior strength. It was a simple, desperate, honest prayer: Lord, there is no one besides you to help. This sermon invites us to examine what we are actually trusting in when life gets hard. Are we leaning on our intelligence, our finances, our position, our experience? Scripture calls that pride, and pride walks hand in hand with destruction. True victory, we discover, is not born from independence but from dependence. When we stop trusting in who we are and start trusting in whose we are, everything changes. We are beloved, chosen, and held by a God who calls into existence the very things that do not yet exist. That is the foundation on which we can face any impossible situation.

    What does it mean to say 'it is well' when everything around us is falling apart? This message takes us on a journey through one of the most remarkable stories of faith under fire ever recorded. We explore the life of Horatio Spafford, a Chicago businessman who lost his real estate empire in the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and then, just years later, lost all four of his daughters when their ship sank crossing the Atlantic. Standing over the very waters where his children perished, he put pen to paper and produced words that have been sung in churches for nearly 170 years. The central truth here is not that faith protects us from loss, but that faith carries us through it. Drawing from Ephesians 5, we are reminded that being filled with the Spirit expresses itself in song, in praise, and in making music to the Lord in our hearts even when our hearts are breaking. The message challenges us to examine what we are feeding our souls. Are we turning first to social media to process our pain, or are we turning to God? The Spaffords did not become bitter. They did not turn away. They served God for the rest of their lives, and that choice made all the difference. Their story is an invitation for us to ask ourselves whether our trust in God is conditional on comfortable circumstances or whether it runs deep enough to hold us when the waves roll in.

    This powerful message takes us into Acts chapter 3, where we encounter the miraculous healing of a man born lame at the Beautiful Gate. But here's the transformative insight: this isn't just about being in the right place at the right time. It's about choosing the right response. We often wait for God to orchestrate everything perfectly before we act, but what if our response to challenges and opportunities matters more than the circumstances themselves? The lame man had been carried to the same spot every single day, watching others enter the temple for prayer while he remained on the sidelines. Yet when Peter and John arrived, everything changed—not because the location was perfect, but because everyone involved chose faith-filled responses. Peter didn't have money, but he offered what he did have: the name of Jesus and the willingness to involve himself in the process. The lame man risked devastating disappointment by planting his feet and trusting God. And because of these right responses, a miracle unfolded that changed not only one man's life but led thousands to faith in Christ. The question for us becomes: Are we willing to trust God enough to leave the places we've been stuck? Are we offering what we have, even when it doesn't seem like enough? Our response can turn trials into testimonies and moments into miracles.

    Summer of Rock (Committed to Christ / The Turnaround) | Brianna Little & Christopher Brown | July 5th, 2026

    In this two-part Summer of Rock message, we follow Peter from his first call to follow Jesus to the turnaround that restored him after failure. In Luke 5, Peter shows us what commitment to Christ looks like: making room for Jesus, obeying Him when it does not make sense, and giving Him a full yes. But Peter’s journey reminds us that even committed disciples can still be tested, sifted, and humbled. In Luke 22, Jesus warns Peter that failure is coming, but He also tells him, “I have prayed for you.” Before Peter ever denies Him, Jesus has already spoken restoration over him. Peter’s failure was real, but it was not final. Jesus turned him around, restored his purpose, and called him to strengthen others. This message invites us to give Jesus our full yes, trust Him in our “nevertheless moments,” and believe that even our failures can become part of the testimony He uses to send us back into purpose.
