Gone Fishing (Stop Asking How) | Pastor Mark Knight | September 27th 2026

What does it truly mean to understand the assignment God has placed on our lives? In this powerful exploration of Jonah chapter 3, we dive into one of the most striking moments of second chances in all of Scripture. After running from God, being swallowed by a great fish, and spending three days in darkness, Jonah finally arrives at a crossroads that mirrors struggles we all face: will we obey God even when we do not have all the answers? The central lesson here is both challenging and liberating. God does not always give us the full picture before calling us to move. He told Jonah to go to Nineveh and promised the message would come once Jonah arrived. This is a direct confrontation with our tendency to demand a complete roadmap before we take a single step of faith. We are reminded that direction in our lives most often comes not from external circumstances but from internal revelation, born in quiet moments of honest surrender. The story also reframes how we think about adversity. The belly of the fish was not a punishment without purpose. It was transportation. God used that dark, difficult season to redirect Jonah's heart and prepare him for the assignment ahead. The same is true for us. The difficult seasons we find ourselves in are not the final word on our destiny. Our destiny is our heart being at one with God, and that inner alignment has the power to transform even the most broken destinations we inhabit.

Gone Fishing (You Can Drift Through It Or You Can Get Through It) | Pastor Mark Knight | September 20th, 2026

What does it mean to drift through life versus intentionally pushing through it? In this message drawn from Jonah chapters 1 and 2, we are invited to examine the difference between our destination and our destiny. Jonah's story is more than a dramatic tale of a man swallowed by a great fish. It is a mirror held up to our own tendencies to run from what God has called us to, to let fear of a difficult assignment pull us away from our purpose. The belly of the fish is not just a place of punishment. It is a place of crushing, and as we explore, powerful things come on the other side of crushing. Just as grapes must be pressed to produce wine and olives must be crushed to produce oil, the tight, dark, overwhelming places in our lives can be the very environments where God is preparing us for what he has called us to. The message challenges us to stop allowing our current destination, whether a broken relationship, a financial struggle, a health crisis, or a season of confusion, to define our destiny. God's process is intentional, and what looks like trouble may actually be transportation.

Gone Fishing (What Are You Doing With Your Faith) | Pastor Mark Knight | September 13th, 2026

What does it really mean to have faith? Not just the kind that feels good inside a church service, but the kind that walks out the door with us and changes the way we live? The book of Jonah gives us a brutally honest look at what happens when we receive a word from God but refuse to act on it. Jonah was a prophet, someone whose entire purpose was to hear from God and communicate that message. And yet when the word came with instructions attached, he ran in the opposite direction. The story challenges us to ask ourselves a hard question: are we the same way? We want the blessing, the breakthrough, the word from God, but do we want the obedience that comes with it? Faith is not just a feeling we experience in a moment of worship. It is a walk, a daily decision to move toward the destination God has set before us even when the journey is uncomfortable. The storm Jonah faced was not punishment for its own sake. It was a signpost pointing him back to his purpose. And the same is true for the storms in our lives. They are not the end of the story. They are the space between where we are and where God is taking us.

Trust Comes When Pressure Is Embraced | Pastor Mark Knight | August 30th, 2026

What if the very pressure we have been trying to avoid is actually the thing God is using to shape us into who we are meant to be? This message takes us into one of the most gripping and underappreciated stories in the Old Testament, found in 1 Samuel 14, where a young warrior named Jonathan makes a decision that changes the course of an entire nation. While his father Saul sits comfortably under a pomegranate tree with six hundred men, Jonathan slips away with just his armor-bearer and one sword, climbs a cliff surrounded by thorns, and charges an enemy outpost that vastly outnumbers him. His declaration is stunning in its simplicity and its boldness: nothing can hinder the Lord from saving, whether by many or by few. This message challenges us to examine which camp we are living in, the camp of pampering or the camp of pressure. Are we waiting for God to make everything easy, or are we trusting him enough to act even when the odds are stacked against us? The central insight here is that trust in God is not built in moments of comfort. It is forged in the furnace of pressure, just like a diamond. When we embrace the pressure rather than run from it, we discover a deeper, more resilient faith that actually produces fruit.

You Win the Battle When You Praise | Pastor Mark Knight | August 23rd, 2026

What if the very act of praise was not a response to victory, but the pathway to it? Drawing from Psalm 145, the final psalm David ever wrote, we explore one of the most counterintuitive truths in the life of faith: that praise is not something we offer after God shows up, but something we offer so that we are positioned to recognize him when he does. David, a man who had seen the highest highs and lowest lows a human life can hold, did not write at the end of his life about his accomplishments or his failures. He wrote about God. Every single day, not just in moments of breakthrough, not just on Sunday mornings, but every day. We are challenged to ask ourselves an honest question: is our praise truly upward focused, or is it inward focused, a transaction we complete once our needs are met? The deeper invitation here is to move from a consumer posture in our faith to a contributor posture, where our worship flows not from what God has done for us in a given moment, but from who God is eternally. That kind of praise changes us from the inside out.

    Found | Pastor Ian O'Brien | August 16th, 2026

What does it truly mean to be found? In Luke 15, Jesus answers that question with three stories that cut straight to the heart of how God sees people the world has written off. We explore the famous parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son, and discover that each one follows the same pattern: something is lost, someone searches, it is found, and then there is rejoicing. But these are not just feel-good stories about recovery. They are a direct challenge to the way we assign worth and value to people around us. The original audience included both self-righteous religious leaders and people society had labeled as scum, and Jesus was speaking directly to both groups at once. When we understand the honor-shame culture surrounding these parables, we realize just how radical and subversive Jesus was being. He was declaring that heaven throws a bigger party over one repentant sinner than over ninety-nine who never strayed. That is not just good news for the broken and the outcast. It is a rebuke to anyone who has ever believed their rule-following earned them a higher place in God's heart. This message invites us to examine whether we are truly in the party, or standing outside in the cold, convinced we deserve to be there more than someone else.

Against All Odds | Pastor Jonny Williams | August 9th, 2026

What do you do when the odds are completely stacked against you? When the numbers do not add up, the resources are not there, and every circumstance seems to be working against you? In 2 Chronicles 14, we find King Asa facing exactly that kind of moment. His army was outnumbered nearly two to one, and the enemy had hundreds of war chariots while Judah had none worth mentioning. By every human measure, the battle was already lost before it began. Yet the outcome was total victory. The key was not military strategy or superior strength. It was a simple, desperate, honest prayer: Lord, there is no one besides you to help. This sermon invites us to examine what we are actually trusting in when life gets hard. Are we leaning on our intelligence, our finances, our position, our experience? Scripture calls that pride, and pride walks hand in hand with destruction. True victory, we discover, is not born from independence but from dependence. When we stop trusting in who we are and start trusting in whose we are, everything changes. We are beloved, chosen, and held by a God who calls into existence the very things that do not yet exist. That is the foundation on which we can face any impossible situation.

Summer of (Rock Don't Miss the Point) | Pastor Mark Knight | July 26th, 2026

What does it look like when we keep missing the point, even when the truth is right in front of us? Through the life of Peter, we are invited to examine the moments in our own lives when we have stood at the edge of something transformative and still walked away confused, resistant, or proud. This discussion explores three powerful biblical encounters that reveal a pattern in Peter's journey: a tendency to show up with the right intentions but the wrong heart. From the parable of the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18, where Peter thought he was being generous with forgiveness but was still thinking in terms of scorekeeping, to the foot-washing scene in John 13, where his refusal to let Jesus serve him masked a deeper vulnerability he was unwilling to show, we begin to see how pride disguised as humility can quietly become one of the greatest obstacles to our spiritual growth. The central question that emerges is not whether we know the right answers, but whether we are willing to let those answers actually change us from the inside out. Forgiveness, humility, and surrender are not just theological concepts. They are daily choices that either open us up to God's work in our lives or quietly close the door to it.
