    9. Hot Pavement, Puppy Cuts & Frozen Broth Cubes: Our Summer Heat Routine for Sami

In this episode we talk about the summer heat mistakes we made with our Westie, Sami, so you don't have to. We cover the summer puppy cut vs. the traditional Westie cut and why we hand-strip Sami short each year. We also talk about tongue signs that tell you how overheated a dog really is, and the hard lesson we learned when Sami's paws got burned on hot pavement. We also get into the dog shoes that actually stay on his feet, our trick for getting him to drink more water with frozen broth cubes, and what we do to keep him safe and comfortable when we're traveling and staying in hotels. We're Miruna and Bobby, Sami's dog parents, and this is Westie Vibes: real talk from two Westie owners living in Portugal, sharing what we've learned (sometimes the hard way) about raising a happy, healthy Westie. Note: we're not vets, so always check with your own vet if your dog shows signs of heat stress. 8. Westitude Explained: The Attitude Every Westie Dog Owner KNOWS

Do you love West Highland White Terriers too? Welcome to the Westie Vibes podcast! We're Miruna and Bobby, and our co-host Sami, our cute and stubborn Westie, who mostly just naps and demands treats. In this episode, we tackle the concept every Westie owner eventually learns the hard way: Westitude. We talk about that that attitude every terrier has (especially a Westie!) and some of our best stories - from Sami's dramatic standoff outside a closed pet store, to the day he ran away from home to go after the neighbor's dog, to the day he became the first terrier in Portugal to pass a well known dog obedience and socialization test. We also read through comments from fellow Westie owners, because it turns out every single one of us is being quietly outsmarted by a 15-pound dog. Whether you're deep into the "teenage" chaos years or just researching before bringing one home, this episode is your honest intro to life with a Westie. The negotiating, the food obsession, the fierce loyalty, and why none of us would trade it for anything in the world. New episodes drop regularly. Follow along, watch the video version on our YouTube and find us on Instagram @WestieVibes.
