The Power of Choosing You feat. Morgan

The one where we talk about what happens when the thing that shaped your identity no longer exists. In this conversation, Liz sits down with Morgan, former competitive dancer, friend and coaching client, to explore what it means to rebuild yourself when the version of you that once felt certain begins to shift. For years, Morgan’s world was built around performance, discipline, achievement and external validation. Dance gave her purpose, structure and identity. Stepping away from it left her facing a question many people meet at some point in life: Who am I when I am no longer doing the thing that defined me? Together, Liz and Morgan unpack the invisible weight of identity loss, the pressure of perfectionism, and how easy it is to confuse achievement with worth. Morgan shares what it looked like to reach a point where something needed to change, the courage it took to ask for support, and how coaching became a space to reconnect with herself in a new way. This conversation moves through self-worth, vulnerability, letting go of old narratives, and learning to choose yourself from a deeper place of self-awareness. If you have ever felt unsteady in a season of change, questioned your worth outside of what you produce, or found yourself outgrowing a version of who you once were, this one will meet you there. Inside this episode:• The hidden impact of tying worth to achievement• What identity loss can feel like after leaving high-performance spaces• How vulnerability creates room for real change• Redefining success in a way that feels true to you• Why choosing yourself changes everything Connect with Liz:Instagram: @the.you.movementWebsite: www.youmovement.com.auThe YOU Space: https://forms.gle/H4cVnQvoDfDk5bPv9 Listen to more episodes of MindKind: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/mindkind-the-podcast/id1840040906 https://open.spotify.com/show/0sxahQZXa4jQcqHWgMDo0A?si=d61d026ecc6f4df3

    When Labels Become Identity

How much of who you think you are is actually true? And how much of it has been shaped by the words, expectations, and projections of other people? In this episode of MindKind: The Podcast, I explore the labels we collect throughout life and the powerful ways they shape identity, influence the nervous system, and quietly guide the stories we continue to live by. This conversation was sparked by a recent YOU Lab workshop with a group of Year 10 students, where I asked one simple question: What labels have you collected about yourself? The answers were honest, vulnerable, and deeply familiar. Too sensitive. Too much. Slow to learn. Not smart. It brought me back to the labels I’ve carried too. Through the lens of neuroscience, education, and my own lived experience with ADHD, we unpack how labels become embedded, why the brain holds onto them, and how they can shape the way we see ourselves for years. Inside this episode, we explore: • How childhood labels can become identity• Why the brain searches for evidence to reinforce what we already believe• The power of reframing traits like sensitivity, slowness, and “too much”• The role of ego in holding onto familiar identities• What it means to outgrow a version of yourself• How to reconnect with who you are underneath the roles, titles, and projections This is a conversation about identity, self-awareness, discernment, and the courage it takes to question the stories you’ve been living inside. Self-leadership begins when we stop accepting inherited stories as truth and start choosing what feels aligned, honest, and true for who we are becoming. The Art of Allowing

This week on MindKind, Liz explores The Art of Allowing. After waking up feeling flat, low in energy and disconnected, Liz found herself doing what many of us do, trying to analyse, solve and make sense of it. Was it hormones? Overwhelm? Tiredness? The mental load? Or something deeper? Instead of forcing herself out of it, she chose something different. She allowed it. In this episode, Liz unpacks what it means to sit with ourselves rather than immediately trying to fix what we feel. She explores the discomfort of slowing down, our relationship with time, why we often tell ourselves we “don’t have time” to feel, and what that might reveal about what we truly value. This is a conversation about self-awareness, discernment, nervous system wisdom, self-trust and learning to listen to the signals your body is constantly sending. Liz also shares how creating space led to unexpected clarity around the fear she’s holding as she steps into a new chapter of life, and why sometimes the answers don’t come straight away and that’s okay too. In this episode:• Why allowing is a skill and a practice• The difference between analysing and listening• How our relationship with time shapes our relationship with ourselves• Why creating space matters for clarity, creativity and connection• How self-trust is built in small everyday moments Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop trying to figure it all out and simply allow ourselves to be where we are. Self-Leadership: The Most Important Skill of Our Time

The one about self-leadership, discernment and learning to trust yourself. In a world full of opinions, information, algorithms and AI, how do we know what is actually right for us? In this solo episode, Liz explores why self-leadership may be one of the most important skills of our time and why it starts with understanding yourself. She unpacks the relationship between self-awareness, discernment, self-trust and self-leadership, sharing reflections from her own journey, insights from her work with clients and students, and lessons from the book The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. Liz explores: -What discernment is and why it matters more than ever- How to distinguish between fear, conditioning and your deeper knowing- Why self-trust is built through evidence, not certainty-The Upper Limit Problem and how we unconsciously hold ourselves back- The role of intuition, reflection and self-connection in decision-making- Why self-awareness and self-leadership are essential skills for the next generation This episode is an invitation to spend less time searching for answers outside yourself and more time learning to hear your own voice. In a world where information is everywhere, perhaps the greatest skill we can develop is the ability to hear many voices and still recognise our own. Welcome To The YOU Movement

The one where I share the story behind The YOU Movement, and the truth about what it really takes to trust yourself and follow what you feel called toward. In this episode, I take you through the journey from my 15 years in education into building my own business, and the internal shifts that came with stepping out of a system and into self leadership. I share how it began with a quiet inner pull, trialling workshops with my senior students, and noticing the impact it was having, before navigating the discomfort of backing myself, rebuilding my sense of worth, and learning how to trust my own voice. This episode also explores the evolution from The Mindset Collective into something deeper. Moving beyond mindset alone and into understanding the full self through mind, body and heart. The work of not just thinking differently, but actually knowing yourself, feeling safe within yourself, and learning how to follow the wisdom of your heart. I speak honestly about outgrowing what once felt right, the fear that comes with making big changes, and the cost of staying where something no longer fits. Including a personal reflection on being in a long term relationship where I stayed longer than I should have, and what that taught me about self worth. We also move into the in-between space. The phase where you’re not who you were, but you’re not quite sure who you’re becoming yet. And why this space, as uncomfortable as it can be, is actually where self trust is built. This is not about having it all figured out. It’s about being willing to listen to yourself and take the next step. The YOU Movement is a space for self discovery, self leadership, and understanding that your unique essence is enough. If something in your life is shifting, if you feel that quiet pull toward something more, this episode is your invitation to start listening.
