    How Much Do We Allow?

    Compromise never starts with surrender. It starts with allowing just a little. In Revelation 2:12–17, Jesus speaks to the church in Pergamum—a church that stood firm in persecution, yet tolerated what should have been confronted. They held onto truth with one hand while allowing false teaching with the other. The question isn’t just what you believe. It’s what you’re willing to tolerate. A little compromise. A little sin. A little false teaching. A little worldliness. “Just a little” has always been the enemy’s strategy. Jesus calls His church to repentance, not coexistence with sin. He doesn’t ask us to blend in with the culture—He calls us to stand apart from it. So ask yourself: How much do I allow that Christ has called me to remove? Because what we tolerate today… will eventually shape who we become tomorrow.

    Good News, Bad News, Better News, Best News

    Here’s the bad news: Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee an easy life. The church in Smyrna faced persecution, suffering, and even death. Faithfulness came with a cost. Jesus never promised comfort—He promised His presence. But here’s the better news: Your circumstances don’t determine your standing with God. He knows your suffering. He sees your faithfulness. He has not forgotten you. And here’s the best news: For those who overcome through Christ, death doesn’t get the final word. Eternal life does. The second death has no power over those who belong to Him. So whether life is easy or hard, whether you’re walking through victory or persecution, remember this: The bad news is temporary.
The better news is that Christ is with you.
The best news is that Christ has already won.

    First Love

    You can have sound doctrine… Serve faithfully… Work tirelessly… And still miss what matters most. In Revelation 2:1–7, Jesus commends the church at Ephesus for their endurance, discernment, and perseverance—but then He says the words no believer wants to hear: “I have this against you: You have abandoned the love you had at first.” It’s possible to do all the right things… and lose the right heart. Christianity was never meant to become routine. It was meant to be a relationship. So stop and ask yourself: Do I still love Jesus the way I did when I first met Him? Or have I gotten so busy doing things for Him that I’ve forgotten to simply be with Him? Return to your first love. Because Jesus doesn’t just want your service— He wants your heart.

    Final Warning

    Not every voice speaks the truth. Not every teacher follows Christ. Not every path leads to life. Romans 16:17–20 ends Paul’s letter with a warning that still echoes today: watch out. Be alert. Know the truth. Don’t be deceived by smooth words, empty promises, or false teaching. Discernment isn’t optional. Obedience isn’t outdated. The enemy wants confusion. God calls us to wisdom. Stand firm in the truth. Hold fast to the gospel. And remember the promise: “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” The battle is real. The victory is already promised.

    Priorities³

    Everyone has priorities. The question is: Are they the right ones? In Romans 15:22–33, Paul opens a window into his heart. His plans, his mission, his ministry—all were shaped by a greater purpose. He prioritized the gospel, serving others, and the will of God above his own comfort and convenience. His life wasn’t driven by what was easiest. It was driven by what mattered most. The gospel. The mission. The people. And through it all, Paul understood something we often forget: our plans are best when they’re surrendered to God’s plans. So take a moment and ask yourself: What comes first in my life? What gets my time? What gets my energy? What gets my heart? Because your priorities reveal your purpose. When God is first, everything else finds its proper place.

    Four "B"s

    The gospel was never meant to stop with us. It was meant to move through us. In Romans 15:14–21, Paul reveals a life driven by purpose—a mission bigger than comfort, reputation, or personal ambition. His focus was clear: take the message of Christ to those who had never heard it. The Christian life isn’t about sitting on the sidelines. It’s about being part of what God is doing. Believe.
Be Bold.
Be a Blessing.
Be Sent. God has equipped you, called you, and placed you where you are for a reason. The question isn’t whether the world needs the gospel. The question is whether we’re willing to carry it. Because someone can’t call on the Savior they’ve never heard about. So what’s your next step? Believe it.
Be it.
Bring it.
Build His Kingdom. The Four “B”s aren’t just a lesson. They’re a lifestyle.

    Why?

    Why carry someone else’s burden? Why put others before yourself? Why choose service over self? Because Christ did. Romans 15:1–8 reminds us that the Christian life isn’t about pleasing ourselves—it’s about strengthening others, building them up, and following the example of Jesus. He didn’t come demanding to be served. He came serving. The world asks, “What do I get out of this?” The gospel asks, “How can I help someone else?” Patience. Encouragement. Unity. Grace. These aren’t weaknesses. They’re marks of a life that looks like Christ. So when serving gets hard, when loving people gets messy, when carrying burdens feels heavy, remember the answer to the question: Why? Because Jesus thought you were worth it.
