Episode 43 - Schall We Talk about Putting Your Foot In Your Mouth

Have you ever said something and IMMEDIATELY wished you could suck the words back into your mouth? That's basically this entire episode. We had absolutely no idea what we were going to talk about this week, so five minutes before recording we opened the phone lines and asked you guys to tell us your most embarrassing "I can't believe I just said that" moments. And somehow... it worked. In this episode: • We realize that while Security and I couldn't think of many times WE put our feet in our mouths, we could think of an alarming number of times our dad did • I relive the first date where I spent the entire night calling a man "Bobby"... only to discover he had actually asked me to call him "Papi" • We read your most painfully awkward stories, including accidentally texting your boss, sending VERY personal messages to the wrong person, and a home improvement company accidentally advertising that they "sell widows" • Mama Schall gives possibly her best motherly advice yet! This episode had no plan, no preparation, and at one point a microphone literally broke... so basically, it's exactly what Schall We Talk was meant to be. Episode 42 - Schall We Talk about Munchkin & The Bachelor Party

This week was a BIG one. We welcomed the newest member of our family, Munchkin, and then immediately jump into Dr. Piano Man's bachelor party... which somehow ended with missing memories, a lost phone, way too much whiskey, and one of the sweetest speeches we've ever heard. It's emotional. It's chaotic. It's us. In this episode: • We tell the full story of how a late-night cookie run somehow led to us adopting Munchkin, the sweetest little French Bulldog who completely stole our hearts • We talk about Munchkin's rescue, his first week home, his health scare, and why I already can't imagine life without my tiny shadow • Dr. Piano Man's bachelor party was one of the most thoughtful celebrations imaginable, complete with Spanish music, an incredible piano performance, and a speech from my dad that had everyone emotional • We read some of the funniest bachelor party disaster stories from Reddit and somehow realize ours was actually pretty tame This episode has rescue dogs, family, friendship, whiskey, churros, and enough bachelor party chaos to make us grateful everyone made it home. Episode 41 - Schall We Talk about MORE Conspiracy Theories

Conspiracy theories are back... and somehow this episode gets even weirder than the first one. Mama Schall returned wearing a homemade tinfoil hat, confidently explained why she might actually be an alien, and somehow convinced us that time travelers may have helped build the pyramids. Things only escalated from there. Whether you believe any of it is up to you... we're just asking questions. 👀 In this episode: • Mama Schall explains why she's convinced she's not just half alien... but possibly FULL alien, complete with Rh-negative blood, metal detector incidents, and a family history that raises... questions • We debate whether aliens built the pyramids, if time travelers secretly helped the Egyptians, and why Papa Schall somehow ended up in a "historic" photo from Ancient Egypt • We react to some of your favorite conspiracy theories, including robot pigeons, jellyfish being aliens, Bigfoot, the Matrix, flat Earth, and whether fast food chains are secretly feeding us humans This episode is ridiculous, completely unserious, somehow gets surprisingly deep, and may leave you wondering whether you should start carrying around a tinfoil hat... just in case. Episode 40 - Schall We Talk about Humiliating Stories

We've all had those moments we wish we could erase... unfortunately, this episode is about reliving them. This week, Security and I read your most humiliating stories, and somehow the listeners managed to make us feel better about our own lives. From public wardrobe malfunctions and workplace disasters to drunken decisions and bathroom emergencies, things spiral almost immediately.  In this episode: • Security accidentally text a Hinge match something that made it look like he was secretly meeting another woman... or talking to me on Hinge. • The most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me on a karaoke stage. • Your unbelievable humiliation stories, including CEO elevator disasters, family parties gone horribly wrong, and one story that made us want to burn down the entire planet. • Mama Schall's advice on how to survive embarrassing moments without letting them define you.  We laughed until we cried recording this one, and by the end we somehow came to the conclusion that embarrassment is just comedy with bad timing. Producer shout-outs: Susan Santoro, Veronica & Deanna, Tamar Fix, and Dr. Piano Man. Episode 39 - Schall We Talk with Jamie Lee

This episode is with a two-time Emmy winner... but somehow we still spent part of it talking about my trash-picked jukeboxes and  wedding.  This week I'm joined by my longtime friend Jamie Lee. She's a comedian, writer, actress, and executive producer on Ted Lasso. We first met over a decade ago, and it was so much fun finally sitting down to talk about comedy, writing, career highs, career flops, and everything in between. In this episode: Winning two Emmys for Ted Lasso Writing and acting on Crashing with Judd Apatow How Girl Code changed her career Why saying "yes" changed everything The story behind her incredible one-woman show My Friend Katie Crossing "Interview an Emmy Winner" off the Goals List This one is funny, inspiring, and honest. Episode 38 - Schall We Talk with Casting Director Erica A. Hart

Special episode this week of Schall We Talk as we have Casting Director, Producer, writer and friend of Robyn’s….Erica A. Hart.  Years ago, Erica took a chance on me and cast me in my very first scripted TV role. She had no idea where my career was headed, and honestly... neither did I. Today, Erica is one of the entertainment industry's most respected casting directors, with credits including Survival of the Thickest, The Equalizer, That Damn Michael Che, Broadway productions like Death of a Salesman, Pass Over, and Chicken & Biscuits, plus commercials for L'ORÉAL, GEICO, Quaker Oats, and so much more.  She's a producer, writer, educator, and one of the kindest people I've met in this business. This conversation isn't just for actors. Whether you're chasing a dream, changing careers, or just trying to figure out your next step, Erica shares advice that honestly applies to all of us. I walked away inspired, and I think you will too. We also talk about how she cast me in my first TV role, what casting directors really notice in auditions, the biggest mistakes actors make, why getting an audition is already a huge accomplishment, and somehow... we end up talking about my unforgettable role as a dead buffalo. 😂 I can't thank Erica enough for coming on Schall We Talk. This is one of my favorite conversations we've had. Episode 37 - Schall We Talk About Conspiracy Theories

Have you ever gone down a conspiracy theory rabbit hole and suddenly found yourself thinking… "Wait… what if?" That's exactly what happened in this episode. We put on tinfoil hats, debated some of the internet's wildest conspiracy theories, accidentally got way too philosophical, and somehow ended up questioning everything from the moon landing to whether my own mother might actually be an alien. So... proceed with caution. In this episode: • My parents somehow started texting Dr. Piano Man's family in Spanish using Google Translate at 5:45 in the morning... which is somehow more terrifying than any conspiracy theory we covered • We put on homemade tinfoil hats and rate conspiracy theories from "Debunked" to "Plausible" • We accidentally fall into a surprisingly deep conversation about the Big Bang, the universe, and why it's kind of incredible that any of us exist at all • Mama Schall revealing her favorite conspiracy theory... and confirming that she believes my grandfather was from another planet This episode is ridiculous, completely unserious, surprisingly philosophical, and may permanently change the way you look at me. Episode 36 - Schall We Talk about Stressing Out and Calming Down

Well once again, I woke up in the middle of the night anxious, couldn’t sleep, and decided the healthiest thing to do was obviously record a podcast in my pajamas. So yes, this is another middle-of-the-night episode. In this episode: • Security and I make wedding predictions  • Dr. Piano Man joins me in the studio and somehow turns my anxious spiral into a surprisingly deep conversation about life, love, and what it means to live well • We read ridiculous Reddit stories about Thanksgiving PowerPoints, gender reveal magicians, and family chaos • Dr. Piano Man and I start brainstorming the least romantic prenup clauses of all time • A discussion about 75 Hard that lasted about 75 seconds • Mama Schall’s motherly advice for anyone who wakes up anxious in the middle of the night This one is sleepy, funny, weirdly comforting, a little emotional, and exactly what happens when anxiety meets a podcast studio.
