The one that puts humanity on trial. Hello to our listeners, both old and new! Welcome to Space Crime Continuum, the nonsensical Star Trek podcast that dares to ask the question: “Is this over yet?” That’s right, we’re back, and we’re shaking things up! Haley and I love many things in the Star Trek universe, but one thing we love more than most is Star Trek: The Next Generation. So, we’re doing something we haven’t done in decades: a full-series rewatch, from the very beginning to the very end. Every episode. Every questionable decision. Every awkward early-season uniform. We’re going all in. But why stop at just enjoying ourselves? That would be far too easy. Far too pleasant. No, we’ve decided to make things considerably more complicated by adding another thing we love: CRIME! We’re talking courts, punishment, prisons, the justice system, and all the questionable decisions that make for a good discussion. In this episode, we kick things off with a little chat about jury duty. Have either of us had the honour of serving? What do we think about it? And how long does it take before we wander wildly off-topic? (Spoiler alert: not long.) Justice
