Ab Rogers is a London-based designer with a wide-ranging practice. A former cabinet maker and sailor, his work for the past 30 years has explored how spaces can encourage play. Robert Raths: Discovering wonder in improvisation

German-born Robert Raths is the founder of Erased Tapes Records, an East London-based record label and artist collective established in 2007. A musician himself, though his background is in architecture and art, he’s grown the label from a Myspace page into a true disruptor of the industry with its uniquely avant-garde approach. James Greer: Deep listening in nature

Nick Luscombe: Unity in sound

London and Tokyo-based broadcaster, radio producer and soundscape artist NICK LUSCOMBE is one half of MSCTY_Studio, exploring the relationship between sound, music and the physical world. In its heyday, it was, I think, one of the most adventurous, genre-defying, and quietly influential shows on British radio. Airing late at night, it felt like a secret world for curious, open-minded music lovers - a place where boundaries between styles simply dissolved. One moment you might hear medieval choral music, the next Aphex Twin, followed by desert blues from Mali, field recordings, modern classical, experimental jazz, or folk drifting into avant-garde electronica. Nick was one of the show’s three main hosts, and it’s been a huge honour to get to know him and make an episode about his work. When I listened to Late Junction, I was always struck by Nick’s warmth, deep knowledge, and genuine curiosity - and it’s been a joy to experience that same spirit on our show - thanks Nick! Travelling extensively around the world, Vincent documents sounds and stories in vivid, beautiful live cinema experiences, sharing the stories of communities, from shamanic rituals to stadium rock music. Yumiko Morioka: Nature's wonderful music

Welcome to the first episode of our new show, The Pineapple Eyes Podcast, brought to you by your friends here at Wonderfruit. We are excited to share this episode and hope you'll follow the show and enjoy the weekly episodes - releasing every Tuesday! Japanese pianist and composer Yumiko keeps a picture on her phone of the view from her living room of the mountains. If you ask, she’ll describe how she often watches the fog sweep down over the mountains over the water. Away from the chaos of Tokyo, Yumiko has found inspiration in the world around her—in the birdsong, the rivers, the time that opens itself up away from pressing schedules. It’s where she’s found the foundations of her material. To Yumiko, the most wonderful music is the sounds made by nature. Many of her compositions and music are inspired by the natural world, based in the kankyō ongaku style of environmental ambient music. Through her compositions and performances, Yumiko attempts to enter a meditative state, becoming a medium where something else plays the music through her. It is a continuous creative process for Yumiko to step away from the ego and make space for the natural sounds that she loves. Through the window of their lived experiences, we’re exploring a space to be curious, pay more attention and listen to the subtle magic hiding in plain sight. “Pineapple eyes” is a well-known Thai proverb that refers to seeing from many viewpoints, just as a pineapple has eyes all over it. Inspired by this idiom, we want to find out if looking through the lenses of each person's perspective makes us more compassionate—and all the more capable of wonder. Sometimes irreverent, sometimes contemplative, each episode speaks from the head and the heart, sharing the stories of the people we work with and how they connect to facets of Mind, Nature and Sound. These intimate interviews have helped us see the world a little differently and with greater equanimity, so we’d like to share them with you.
