    Busyness

    We are all busy. But are we busy with God or just busy? Rest is not a reward for finishing everything. It was built into the design from the very beginning. If God rested, what makes us think we do not need to? Working hard without God at the center is just spinning your wheels. The hustle means nothing if he is not in it. Busyness becomes a master fast. The gut check is not how much you are doing. It is who is actually running your life. Jesus does not ask you to do less. He asks you to do it with him. The rest he offers is not a nap. It is a soul thing. Martha letting Jesus in is what allowed her to see a new perspective. If we are not letting God into our hearts, nothing is going to change. Because most of the time it is our eyes that need to see differently. Gratitude keeps you centered. Thank him for the green lights. Thank him for the red ones too. You can either sit in a pity party or a praise party. Choose the praise party. Stillness is not just physical quiet. It is quieting the noise long enough to remember who is actually in charge. Exodus 23:12 -- Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. Psalm 127:1-2 -- Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil. Matthew 6:24 -- No one can serve two masters. You cannot serve God and wealth. Matthew 11:28-30 -- Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Luke 10:38-42 -- The story of Martha and Mary. Martha was distracted with much serving. Mary sat at the Lord's feet. Jesus said Mary chose the better part. Psalm 46:10 -- Be still and know that I am God.

We talk honestly about chasing likes, wanting to know if we’re making a difference, motherhood, feeling behind, and learning to trust that if God is asking us to do something, He will use it in His timing. This episode is a reminder that distraction is often misplaced focus. Sometimes the next faithful step isn’t doing more — it’s asking God for wisdom and letting Him show us what actually matters right now.
