The Bro Coach® Podcast With Dennis Procopio

Dennis Procopio

You've probably already read the books. Atomic Habits. Eat That Frog. Maybe a few others. And if you're honest with yourself, you're still circling the same questions: who am I, and why do I get out of bed in the morning? Not how do I make more money, but what is my actual purpose, and what is my legacy going to be? Dennis Procopio is the founder of Man-UP! Life Coaching and the creator of the Bro Coach® Approach. He spent more than a decade watching men who look like they have everything discover they're still working on their intrinsic value, still walking on eggshells at home, still keeping the wife in princess mode because "happy wife, happy life," still trying not to repeat the mistakes their fathers made. He thought the house, the wife, the kid, the dog, and the white fence would quiet his own internal turmoil too. It didn't. So now he helps other men figure out what actually does. Each episode is a real conversation between Dennis and co-host Andrew Bontz about the things most people aren't talking about at your office or your Christmas party. The stuff happening at 3 a.m. when it's just you and the mirror. The gap between who society sees and what you actually feel. Because the truth Dennis keeps coming back to is that success is peace, and a lot of high-achieving men have checked every box on paper and still can't find it. And if you're expecting someone to tell you to "man up and grind harder," you're in the wrong place. The bro in Bro Coach stands for brother, and the whole point is that you shouldn't have to figure this out alone. Take a breath, man. Let's get into it.

Lonely at the Top: Why Successful Men Have Difficulty Maintaining Friendships

You've got the career, the income, and the respect. And somehow you're the loneliest guy in the room. Nobody warns you about this part. The bigger your life gets, the smaller your real circle gets. What used to be loneliness at the bottom doesn't disappear when you hit the top. It just changes what it looks like. Dennis Procopio (The Bro Coach®) and Charles Ledbetter dig into why high-achieving men quietly lose real friendships as they gain success, and what it actually takes to build the kind of male connection that can hold the weight of the life you're building. Charles came into Man-UP! Life Coaching isolated and burned out. He rebuilt everything: businesses, a marriage, a family. Then he realized the loneliness had a way of cycling back in. Success doesn't solve it. It just repackages it. This episode covers the male loneliness epidemic at the top, why men are wired to be human doings instead of human beings, why validation from your wife or your mom can't touch what real brotherhood does for you, and Dennis's linear drive vs. lateral being framework for men who keep building upward without building outward. Also: Robin Williams, capuchin monkeys, and why skipping relationships is just like skipping leg day. Whiskey, Cigars, and Bro Stuff, with Guest Sean Corcoran of Brown Water Basement

Some of the best guys you'll ever meet come into your life through the most random doors, a Jeep forum, a Facebook group, a DM that starts with a question about gear storage and ends with whiskey. That's how real brotherhood actually works.  Dennis met Sean Corcoran of Brown Water Basement in a Jeep TJ off-road group on Facebook. One post about gear storage, a shared humidor joke, and next thing you know Dennis is buying cigars and Celia's got a birthday bourbon arriving on her actual birthday. That's how this episode happened. Sean started Brown Water Basement because he couldn't afford the good stuff, so he figured out how to get it for everybody. He selects single barrel whiskeys from the top brands, hand-picked and released monthly, so you never have to camp outside a store or pay 20 times the price on the secondary market. Think the sneaker world: limited drops, insane resale, grown men taking vacation days just to score one bottle. Sean's answer? The chase is over. Trust the guy with the palate. This episode covers the craft of hand-selected bourbon, cigar and whiskey pairings, blue collar pride, and what three guys from completely different backgrounds discover they have in common. God, Source, or The Force: Coaching Spirituality Regardless of Religion

Most men have a complicated relationship with God, whether religion was rammed down their throat as a kid, they walked away and never looked back, or they're still out there searching for something they can't quite name.  None of that matters here. Dennis Procopio (The Bro Coach®) and fellow coach Charles Ledbetter open up about their own wild spiritual backgrounds: Catholic altars, Black churches, ashrams, and 12-step rooms. All of it points to the same truth: you were never actually separated from source to begin with. This episode gets into how Dennis coaches men of every belief system (Christian, Jewish, Muslim, agnostic, and everything in between) without stepping on anyone's toes. The goal isn't to validate your religion or tear it down.  It's to keep you from having an existential crisis when something in you says, "I think there's more than this." Because there is. And it's already inside you. Also: Schrödinger's cat, the Tower of Babel, pizza slices, and why "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" might be the most profound piece of spiritual wisdom ever written. The Critical Importance of Male Empathy & Emotional Intelligence (EI) | with Guest: Argustic Dunbar

Most men who've achieved real success (the income, the title, the lifestyle) have also quietly mastered the art of feeling nothing.  They call it discipline and stoicism, but when the marriage starts drifting and the respect at home doesn't match the respect at work, all that emotional armor stops looking like strength and starts looking like the problem. Dennis Procopio (The Bro Coach®), co-host Charles Ledbetter, and guest Argus Dunbar, a software engineer who coaches married CEOs and executives on relationship mastery, dig into the real difference between empathy and emotional intelligence, and why the men told to suppress both are struggling most at home.  Argus makes it plain: if you had a business you were crushing at 5 hours a week that now demands 50 and pays a fraction, you wouldn't call that thriving. Most married men are living that equation.  Charles brings a live example from his own marriage, and Dennis unpacks when shame is a moral compass, when it becomes a weapon, and why validation is almost always the right first move. Also: the sword-in-the-sheath metaphor, why real stoicism has nothing to do with feeling nothing, and how Dennis turned a room of troublemakers around by refusing to lead with shame. Male Confidence: How the "Alpha Male" Stereotype is Affecting Healthy Masculinity

You look confident from the outside. People respect you, you carry yourself well, and by most external measures you're winning. But somewhere underneath all of it there's a slow, quiet drain you can't explain to anyone around you. That's the thing about male confidence: the version most men are performing has nothing to do with the real thing. In Season 2, Episode 1, Dennis Procopio brings on new co-host Charles Ledbetter, a trained life coach and former Man-UP! client turned coach. They open the season by calling out something most men won't say out loud: the angry, chest-beating alpha you grew up watching is scared. And a lot of men have built their entire identity on top of it. This episode gets into what Dennis calls the Failure Script, a six-step cycle that starts with self-judgment, moves through internalized rage and depression, and bottoms out at stagnation. Dennis and Charles walk through how that cycle works and how to flip it into the Success Script, where validation leads to motivation, motivation builds real confidence, and real confidence creates the risk-taking that actually changes your life. They also get into why men reach for alcohol, porn, or money when what they actually need is validation, and why the quiet, stoic father nobody posts about is more authentically masculine than anything going viral right now. Why Therapy Wasn't Enough for a Marine with a PhD (And How Male Life Coaching Made the Difference

Most men in this audience have done some version of the work. They've sat across from a therapist, figured out where the damage came from, and walked out with real insight into who they are and why. And for a lot of guys, that's exactly where it stalls, because understanding your patterns and actually changing them are two completely different things. That gap is what this episode is about. Dennis Procopio (The Bro Coach®) and co-host Andrew Bontz sit down with Jonah Dominek, a Marine Corps veteran, former chiropractor, and entrepreneur who spent years in legitimate therapy and still kept repeating the same relationship patterns. Not because therapy failed him, but because it gave him the why without the what to do next. As Jonah puts it: "I know I'm damaged. What do I do tomorrow?" This episode gets into the real difference between therapy and men's coaching, why understanding your wounds isn't the same as healing them, and how male-to-male coaching fills a gap most men don't know they're missing. Dennis and Andrew also open up about their own stories, including Andrew's post-divorce spiral and what finally broke the pattern. Also: what separates legitimate men's coaching from Lamborghini-and-cash-stack nonsense, and why attracting the right woman usually starts with leaving women alone for a while. Chat with a Client’s Sister: Different Methods, Same Mission — Building Better Men

You've heard it a thousand times: men and women are fundamentally different. Most guys nod along without thinking twice. But what if that story is mostly wrong, and the one place it isn't wrong is the exact place nobody ever talks about? This week Dennis sits down with Ryan Western, sister of long-term client Ian Western, for a conversation that goes places nobody planned. Ryan walked in already convinced that most gender differences are socially constructed rather than hard-wired. She wasn't wrong. But she left having discovered one thing she'd never considered: that men carry a deep, constant emotional fear of women that is every bit as real as women's physical fear of men, and it changes everything about how men show up, shut down, and go silent in the relationships that matter most. She came in not knowing if she was walking into a red-pill situation. She left saying she and Dennis Procopio (The Bro Coach®) were basically saying the same thing all along. How that happened is worth every minute of this one. This episode gets into the male loneliness epidemic and why the men most at risk don't look like men who are struggling, the real difference between biological sex and the gender construct and why the confusion costs men their sense of self, and what Dennis actually means when he says Man UP is a bait and switch. Also: the Matrix, Krishnamurti, meditation as the only tool that reaches what words can't, and why Dennis says his real mission has nothing to do with masculinity. I Owe Me More: How Two Men Rebuilt From the Ground Up

You didn't hit a wall, you hit the ground, with your bank account gone, your body wrecked, and your mind broken somewhere underneath all of it. And in that darkness, you either begged to tap out, or you made the one decision that changed everything. Most men never tell that story out loud. This episode tells two of them. Dennis Procopio sits down with Charles Ledbetter, a former Man-UP! Life Coaching client who came into coaching with cocaine addiction, suicidal ideation, and two rental listings he had no idea how to run. Charles now owns a multi-million dollar property management company with 104 locations, and a marriage he says flat-out would not exist without the work he did with MULC. Dennis opens up about his own origin too: poverty, 24 schools, Rikers Island on attempted murder charges, and a handshake in New Orleans that became the day he never drank again. Two men, two completely different paths, and the same ground-level moment where everything either ends or begins. This episode gets into what it actually takes to rebuild from nothing, not through hustle culture or a 30-day program, but through one decision made with your back against the ground. Dennis and Charles dig into why the powerlessness model keeps men stuck, what real masculinity looks like from two men who lived the broken version first, and why the men who go deepest into the dark have the most to offer on the way out.
