    August 9, 2026 - John 10:22-42 - "Jesus Is The Christ"

How often do we demand more proof from God when He has already given us everything we need to believe? In week 28 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood takes us to the Feast of Dedication. The religious leaders corner Jesus and demand that He tell them plainly if He is the Christ. What follows is Jesus' final, definitive public defense of His identity before He withdraws from His public ministry. This week, we look at the undeniable proof of who Jesus is and the absolute security of His followers through five key points: Jesus exposes the unbelief of the Jews (v.24-26): Showing that their refusal to believe wasn't due to a lack of evidence, but because they simply were not part of His flock. Jesus shares the benefits of being a sheep (v.27-29): The incredible, comforting promise of eternal security—the guarantee that once you are in the Father's hand, nothing can ever snatch you away. Jesus is equal with God the Father (v.30-31): His bold, unmistakable declaration that "I and the Father are one," which immediately prompts the hostile crowd to reach for stones. Scripture cannot be broken (v.32-39): How Jesus brilliantly uses the Old Testament to defend His divine mission and affirm the flawless, unbreakable authority of God's Word. Jesus concludes His public ministry (v.40-42): Stepping away from the violence of Jerusalem and returning across the Jordan, where many still sought Him out and placed their true faith in Him. August 2, 2026 - John 10:1-21 - "Jesus Is The Good Shepherd"

In a noisy world full of competing voices and false leaders, how do you know who to follow? In week 27 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood unpacks one of the most beautiful and intimate metaphors in all of Scripture. Jesus contrasts Himself with the self-serving religious elite, declaring Himself to be the Good Shepherd who deeply knows, fiercely protects, and ultimately dies for His flock. This week, we explore the incredible security we have in Christ's care through four key points: His voice is knowable and trustable (v.1-6): The intimate relationship between the Shepherd and the sheep, and the safety found in learning to recognize and follow His voice above all others. He is the only door of hope (v.7-10): Jesus is the exclusive gateway to salvation, offering us a rich and abundant life in stark contrast to the thieves who come only to steal, kill, and destroy. He lays down His life (v.11-18): The profound difference between a hired hand who runs from danger and the Good Shepherd who willingly, voluntarily sacrifices Himself out of love for His sheep. He will be debated (v.19-21): The inevitable division that Christ's radical claims create among the crowd, challenging every person to decide whose voice they will truly listen to. July 12, 2026 - John 8:31-47 - True Disciples Abide In The Word

What does it truly mean to be free? In week 24 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood unpacks one of Jesus' most famous teachings on truth and freedom. Speaking to a group of people who claimed to believe in Him, Jesus challenges their understanding of faith, exposing the reality that true discipleship requires a deep, ongoing commitment to His Word. This week, we explore the stark contrast between spiritual freedom and spiritual slavery through five key points: Only Believers can abide (v.31): True faith isn't a one-time intellectual agreement; it is a continuing, everyday reliance on the teachings of Christ. Abiding leads to knowing and knowing leads to freedom (v.32): The beautiful promise that as we immerse ourselves in His Word, we discover the truth that sets us totally free. Sin leads to slavery (v.33-38): The sobering reality that anyone who makes a practice of sin is bound to it, unable to free themselves without the Son. Genealogy never saves (v.39-46): Why our family history, religious background, or moral heritage cannot rescue us—only a genuine relationship with God can. Only believers can hear (v.47): The ultimate test of our spiritual condition is whether or not we have the ears and the heart to receive the words of God. June 28, 2026 - John 7:53-8:11 - Questions From A Questionable Text

It is one of the most famous stories in the Bible: a woman caught in adultery, an angry mob with stones in hand, and Jesus writing in the dirt. But did you know this well-known passage is also one of the most debated texts in Scripture? In week 22 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood tackles John 7:53-8:11. Because many of the earliest manuscripts do not include these specific verses, it raises important questions about how we view and trust the Bible. At the same time, this text delivers a profound, undeniable picture of Jesus' radical grace and perfect justice. This week, we unpack the history and the heart of this passage by asking five crucial questions: Is This Scripture?: Addressing the textual history of this passage and why we can still confidently trust the Bible we hold in our hands today. Why Just The Woman?: Highlighting the blatant hypocrisy of the religious leaders who brought the woman to Jesus while conveniently leaving the guilty man behind. Is Adultery The Unpardonable Sin?: Exploring the gravity of sexual sin, while celebrating the truth that no sin is beyond the reach of God's forgiveness. Do You Have To Be Sinless To Judge?: Unpacking Jesus' famous statement, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone," and what it actually teaches about self-righteousness. Does Sin Bring Condemnation?: The beautiful balance of Christ's response: offering absolute grace ("Neither do I condemn you") alongside a clear, loving call to holiness ("Go and sin no more").
