    Is Brainrot a Gamble?

Call it Brainrot. Doomscrolling. Algorithm addiction. Is your attention span being held hostage by your feed? If you’ve ever caught yourself scrolling for an hour, consuming everything from Salad Fingers and talking oranges to increasingly unhinged internet nonsense, you’re not alone. And it may not be entirely your fault. In the Season 2 premiere of Shrinks & Giggles, we’re diving into the psychology of brainrot, social media, algorithms, and our increasingly fractured attention spans. Why is it so hard to stop scrolling? What happens to our brains when we constantly consume low-quality, rapid-fire content? And how much of our behavior is actually being engineered by the algorithms feeding us more of what keeps us hooked? This episode explores the psychology behind doomscrolling and compulsive content consumption, how algorithmic feeds can affect our attention and mental health, and what we can actually do to break the cycle. Because deleting the apps and moving to a cabin in the woods probably isn't the answer. We’ll give you practical ways to become more intentional about what you consume, reclaim some mental space, and make your relationship with your phone a little less… feral. Subscribe to Shrinks & Giggles for new episodes every other Thursday. And tell us in the comments: What ridiculous piece of internet nonsense has you completely hooked? 👀 #Brainrot #Doomscrolling #MentalHealth #ADHD #SocialMedia #Psychology #ShrinksAndGiggles As always we at Aspire Therapy Center are here for you, offering comprehensive psychological assessments, testing, and therapy services. 📍 Serving clients in California, Florida, and beyond🌐 www.aspiretherapycenter.com 📞 (323) 345-1402📲 Instagram: @aspiretherapycenter #MentalHealth #PsychologyPodcast #TraumaTriggers #TherapistsExplain #MentalHealthMyths #PsychologyEducation #ShrinksAndGiggles #TraumaExplained #TherapyTalk #AspireTherapyCenter

Pineapple Pizza to PTSD: Trigger Warnings Decoded | Episode 8 Shrinks and Giggles

Are you actually triggered… or is it just your personal brand?  It's just psychology.  In this episode of Shrinks and Giggles, your favorite psychologists break down the internet’s favorite mental health buzzword: “triggers.” What’s the difference between a real trauma trigger and something that’s just become part of your personal brand online? We unpack what clinical trauma and triggers actually mean in psychology, why the term is everywhere on social media, and how the conversation around mental health may be getting a little… messy. ⚠️ Warning: This episode might make you cringe, hide, laugh, or gag — but it will also help you understand what triggers really are and how trauma actually works. If you’ve ever wondered:• What is a trauma trigger?• Is everything a trigger now?• Are we overusing therapy language online? …this episode is for you. ☕ Enjoy the podcast?
