Titles, Trauma & True Discipleship | Becoming Pricelis

What does it look like to follow Jesus when your faith feels tired, your questions feel loud, and the “middle” won’t hurry up? In this episode, Ariana sits down with Pricelis—Bronx pastor, ministry leader, writer, wife, and mom—for an honest conversation about becoming: becoming free, becoming grounded, and becoming more submitted to Christ than to a version of “Christianity” that can quietly form us in the wrong direction. Pricelis shares how church hurt, the upheaval of 2020, and the pressure of spiritual titles (“Christian,” “pastor”) forced her into a deeper wrestle—one that made room for healing, boundaries, and a renewed love for Jesus Himself. Together, they talk about humility, lament, and why rebuke can be an act of love when it points people back to truth and toward a better way. This is an episode for the listener who’s asking, “What is going on?” and “Can I keep going?” You’re not alone—and there is an until. Subscribe for more, and check out resources in the show notes. Divorce, Disco Balls, & the God Who Stays | Becoming Kerena

If you’re a woman walking through divorce, separation, or a big life unraveling, this episode is for you. Ariana sits down with Kerena Marie, the creator behind Disco Theo, to talk about becoming a woman who is both broken and beautifully held by God. Kerena shares how a friend’s “disco ball” metaphor became the picture for her life after abuse, abandonment, and divorce—shattered pieces glued back together and hung up high to reflect God’s light. Together they name the strange “dark parallel” between engagement and divorce, the shame and silence women often feel in church, and the deep relief of discovering Jesus as the groom who never walks away. You’ll hear practical, gentle ways to meet God in trauma: sobbing in the back pew during communion, praying simple “God, help” prayers, and reaching for children’s Bibles and liturgy when your brain can’t handle much more. If you’re in the middle and wondering if your story is over, this conversation is a reminder: you are still a daughter, still a bride, and you are not alone.
