    Behind the Scenes with the Houston Astros: Jenloy Herrera ⚾🎙️ On this episode of the In & Out Talks Podcast, we sit down with Jenloy Herrera, who spent the 2022, 2023, and 2024 seasons working as a Spanish translator with the Houston Astros and experienced Major League Baseball from a perspective most fans never get to see. Jenloy became an important part of the Astros staff, working closely with players—particularly pitchers—to help bridge the communication gap between Spanish- and English-speaking members of the organization. But his role extended well beyond translation. Jenloy was involved behind the scenes with analytics, training, player communication, and other aspects of the day-to-day preparation required throughout an MLB season. In this episode, Jenloy takes us inside a Major League clubhouse and discusses what goes into supporting professional players beyond what fans see on the field. We talk about communicating with pitchers and coaches, the growing role of analytics in baseball, building relationships with players from different backgrounds, and what he learned during three seasons inside the Astros organization. Jenloy also shares what life looks like after his time with the team. He still calls Houston home, where he enjoys spending time with his family and staying involved in sports by coaching his daughter.
