There is no BOUNCE BACK after having a baby

You grew a baby. Your body changed. Your life changed. And somehow, society expects you to just bounce back? Between social media transformations, celebrity postpartum photos, fitness routines, and the pressure to look like your “old self,” it's easy to feel like you're falling behind if your body, energy, or life doesn't look the way you expected after having a baby. But here's the truth: you are not supposed to bounce back. You're living forward. In this episode of Womb Talk, we're talking about postpartum body image, the comparison trap on social media, and the unrealistic expectations placed on women after birth. It's so easy to scroll through your feed and compare your real, everyday postpartum experience with someone else's carefully selected photos. You see the flat stomach, the workout progress, the glowing pictures, and the seemingly effortless return to normal. But you don't see the whole story. You don't see every person's recovery, circumstances, support system, or struggles. And you certainly don't need to measure your own healing against someone else's timeline. Your body has been through something extraordinary. It may look different. It may feel different. Your priorities may have shifted. You may be learning how to care for yourself while caring for a tiny human who needs so much of you. And that's real life. This conversation is a reminder to stop putting your life on hold until you look a certain way, fit into your old clothes, or feel like you've finally “gotten yourself back.” You are still you, even if you look different. You are still worthy of joy, movement, connection, and living your life right now. In this episode, we explore: ✨ Why the idea of “bouncing back” creates so much pressure for new mothers ✨ How social media can distort our expectations of postpartum recovery ✨ Why comparing your body and timeline to another woman's can steal the joy from your own journey ✨ How to make peace with a body that has changed ✨ Why your postpartum experience doesn't need to look like anyone else's ✨ Giving yourself permission to live your life instead of waiting until you feel like your old self ✨ Embracing this new season of motherhood with more compassion and less comparison You don't have to love every change. You don't have to pretend the transition is easy. And you don't have to abandon your own health or well-being. You simply deserve the time, support, and grace to figure out what caring for yourself looks like now. So the next time you find yourself comparing your postpartum body to someone else's online, remember: you're seeing a snapshot of their life, not a standard you have to meet. You didn't fail to bounce back. You are becoming, healing, adapting, and living. And your life is happening right now, not six months from now when you think you should look different. 🌱 Let's stop bouncing back and start moving forward. Celebrating 8 Years as a Doula

Eight years. So many families. Countless lessons. And somehow, I'm still just getting started. 💚 In this special episode of Womb Talk, I'm celebrating eight years of being a doula and taking you along for a little trip down memory lane. From where my journey began to the moves I've made, the clients I've had the privilege of supporting, and the experiences that have shaped the doula I am today, I'm sharing a more personal look at the journey behind Fruitful Womb Doula Services. Birth work has taught me so much about women, families, advocacy, surrender, strength, and the beauty of being present during some of life's most vulnerable moments. It's also challenged me, pushed me to grow, and reminded me just how much there is still to learn. Because here's the thing: eight years in, I don't have it all figured out. And I don't think I'm supposed to. I'm still curious. I'm still learning. I'm still exploring new ways to support women through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the many other seasons of womanhood. In this episode, we're getting personal about the journey, the growth, the memories, and the things I'm excited to learn next. Whether you're a fellow doula, a birth worker, a past or future client, or simply someone who loves hearing the stories behind the people who do this work, I'd love to have you along for this conversation. Thank you to every family who has welcomed me into their story, trusted me during such an intimate season of life, and allowed me to do work that means so much to me. Here's to eight years of supporting women, learning along the way, and continuing to grow. And here's to whatever comes next! 🌱 Love and Blessings, Elisabeth Fruitful Womb Doula Services 🌿 Website: https://fruitfulwomb.ca 🎙️ Subscribe to Womb Talk for more conversations about women's health, fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and everything in between.

Turns Out, Being the Good Girl Was Exhausting

“Wow, she’s so mature for her age.” For some girls, that sounds like the ultimate compliment. But what happens when being mature, responsible, helpful, independent, and easy to love becomes the role you learn to play before you ever get the chance to simply be a kid? In this episode of Womb Talk, Samantha and I are having a deeply honest conversation about what can exist underneath the praise of being the “mature” girl. We explore what happens when a woman grows up learning to be capable instead of cared for, responsible instead of supported, and attuned to everyone else’s needs instead of her own. Samantha shares insight into the moment many women eventually reach: realizing that being good at taking care of everyone else doesn't necessarily mean you know how to take care of yourself. We talk about why receiving care can feel uncomfortable, why asking for help can bring up guilt or vulnerability, and what happens when you've spent so much of your life paying attention to everyone else's emotions that you’ve lost touch with your own needs. And perhaps the biggest question of all: If you've spent your whole life figuring out what everyone else needs, how do you begin figuring out what YOU need? This conversation is for the woman who has always been “the strong one.” The dependable one.The one who doesn't need much. The one everyone comes to when things fall apart.Maybe you've always been incredibly capable. Maybe you've been praised for being independent. Maybe you’re the person who notices everything, anticipates everyone's needs, and somehow keeps everything moving. But when someone asks, “What do you need?” …you have absolutely no idea. If that sounds familiar, this episode may hit a little differently. In this episode, we explore: ✨ What being “so mature” as a child can actually mean beneath the compliment ✨ The difference between being capable and feeling safe ✨ Why some women become experts at caring for everyone except themselves ✨ Why receiving care can feel uncomfortable ✨ The connection between independence, responsibility, and identity ✨ What happens when you lose touch with your own needs ✨ How to begin noticing what you actually want and need ✨ Moving from always being the caretaker to allowing yourself to be cared for Meet Samantha Samantha Grider helps the woman who was praised for being so mature at 10 put down the weight she was never meant to carry, so she can feel safe at home in her own body again. Through gentle NLP, hypnosis, and nervous system tools, she guides caregivers and high-achieving women out of bracing and into rest that doesn’t have to be earned. Her work centers on three quiet shifts: rest is not a reward, she gets to stop being easy to love, and safety is a feeling — not a place, person, or performance. 🔗 Connect with Samantha in her telegram group: https://t.me/+S6zzVP-uWvgyOWEx If you've ever been called “the strong one,” “the responsible one,” or “so mature for your age,” this conversation is for you. Because maybe you were never meant to be the woman who could handle everything. Maybe you were meant to be a woman who knew she didn't have to.

What You Need To Know About Your Endo Womb

Have you ever wondered if the emotions you carry could be affecting your physical body? What if some of the patterns, symptoms, fears, or reactions you experience aren’t just happening on the surface, but are connected to what’s happening within your mind, nervous system, and subconscious? In this thought-provoking episode of Womb Talk, we’re exploring the fascinating connection between the mind and body, trauma, suppressed emotions, subconscious patterns, and spiritual hypnosis. We dive into the science and theory behind mind-body healing and subconscious rewiring, and what it can actually look like when we begin bringing awareness to the patterns beneath the surface. We also explore an important question many women have: Can trauma and suppressed emotions show up as physical symptoms? And if so, what might that look like? Then we take the conversation deeper into spiritual hypnosis. What exactly is it? How does it work? And how might it complement the conventional treatments and support women already use, rather than necessarily replacing them? This conversation is for the woman who has ever thought: "Why does my body feel this way?" "Could stress or emotions really be affecting me physically?" "Why do I keep repeating the same patterns even though I know better?" "Is there more happening beneath the surface?" And because healing doesn't always have to start with a huge life overhaul, we end with a simple question: What's one small shift you can make this week if you're feeling overwhelmed? If you've been curious about the connection between your mind, body, emotions, subconscious, and spiritual well-being, this is a conversation you'll want to hear. In this episode, we explore: ✨ The mind-body connection and subconscious rewiring ✨ How trauma and suppressed emotions may influence the way we experience our bodies ✨ What physical symptoms can sometimes tell us about our emotional state ✨ What spiritual hypnosis is and how it works ✨ The relationship between subconscious patterns and healing ✨ How holistic approaches can complement conventional care ✨ Why understanding your body can be an important part of feeling more empowered ✨ One small shift you can make when you're feeling overwhelmed Season 4 - Episode 11 Meet Our Guest Dr Jennifer Schlueter Dr. Jennifer Schlueter helps women with endometriosis and other womb conditions relieve or even completely eradicate their pain and symptoms naturally. The One Where She Chose the Plants

I had the pleasure of having The Ladybird Company come onto Womb Talk for our 9th episode of season 4. We take a look into some of the nutrition and herbal allies for women's cycles, and about telling her story that influenced her to get into herbal medicine. As well as the healing wisdom of our ancestors. Please check her out at: www.theladybirdcompany.ca BIO: Mackenzie Laurin is the founder, horticulturist, and practicing herbalist behind The Ladybird Company; where her work is a reflection of her lifelong study of the natural world. In 2021, she graduated from the Horticulture Technologist diploma program at Olds College, where she focused her studies on native ecosystem restoration, permaculture, and ethnobiology. Following college, she continued her education through independent study, fieldwork, and everyday practice; delving into the studies of herbal medicine, nutrition, and the biological sciences. She began to explore the threads that weave together health, ecology, and culture; it was in this intersection that, in 2025, The Ladybird Company was finally born. The Ladybird Company offers a collection of handcrafted goods inspired by old ways and made for modern life: apothecary products; artisan botanical skincare, haircare, and pet care; culinary herbalism pantry staples; low-waste kitchen & cleaning items; and medicinal plant seeds. Each item is rooted in respect for the earth, thoughtfully crafted with love and intention, and meant to nourish the spirit as much as the body. Alongside these, we curate a selection of non-fiction books and kitchen & apothecary tools. Outside of the retail space, Mackenzie leads classes, workshops, educational nature walks, and other events rooted in ecology, heritage, and hands-on learning. She offers herbalism consultation services & custom herbal formulation, and is in training to become a birth & death doula. Through the reclamation of traditional knowledge, and the insights of modern research, The Ladybird Company seeks to bring household healing into the modern home. This desire, to place the power of healing once again in the hands of the people, is the beating heart of the company.
