Ep #81 - Your Clinic Makes More Money. So Why Doesn't Your Paycheck? | Craig Dacy

Send us Fan Mail You added another zero to your revenue this year. Your paycheck looks exactly the same. What is going on? Craig Dacy has an answer, and it isn't the one your accountant gave you. Craig spent ten years teaching fourth grade before he and his wife paid off just over $30,000 of debt in twelve months — on a teacher's salary. That experience turned into a decade-long career coaching business owners through the money conversations nobody trained them to have. He now works primarily with medical and wellness practice owners, and he's writing Profit First for Physical Therapists, launching in early 2027. In this conversation, Craig makes a case that stopped me cold: every practice needs two money systems, not one. You already have an accounting system — bookkeeping, taxes, a P&L that tells you what happened six weeks ago. What you're almost certainly missing is a money management system: the thing that tells you today whether you can make payroll, order supplies, or hire. We also get into the difference between being a small business owner and being the CEO of your practice, why "I'm just not good with money" is the exact same lie as "I'm just not a math person," and the reverse-engineering exercise Craig runs with every new client — starting with your paycheck and working backwards to what your clinic has to produce to fund it. If you have ever avoided opening your bank app because you didn't want to know, this one is for you. TOPICS COVERED • Paying off $30K in a year on a teacher's salary — and what sparked it • Why money is emotional, and how avoidance actually works • Small business owner vs. CEO: the distinction that changes everything • The two money systems every clinic needs (and the one you're missing) • Reverse-engineering your revenue target from your own paycheck • Building a cash runway before you leave your job • What to do when you've already made the jump with no cushion • Opportunities over excuses — the mindset Craig screens for • Why hitting a revenue ceiling is almost always a systems problem • How personal and business finances quietly drain each other CONNECT WITH CRAIG Website + free profit quiz: https://dacycoaching.com/  Book a free call: https://dacycoaching.com/contact-us/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/craigdacy/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dacyfinancialcoaching/  YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@therapybusinesspod  This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.  If you own or run a clinic and are interested in being a guest on the show, please complete the form here and let's connect!  Or email Jody at Jody@AcceleratedMedicalPractices.com.  🚀 Grow your clinic with proven systems at AcceleratedMedicalPractices.com For more Insights and Tips on Growing Your Hormone Clinic, subscribe to THE AMP Report sent every other Thursday and follow us on social media for "almost" daily tips!  Get The AMP Report Instagram Facebook LinkedIn YouTube Last BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, is your looking for the fast track to growing your clinic, check out The AMP Accelerator - A free membership site filled with on demand course content to allow you to learn what you need, when yo...

Ep #80 - Why Patients Quit in Year One and the 13 Ways That Stop It

Send us Fan Mail Almost nobody cancels because of price. They cancel because eight months ago they stopped feeling the change, quietly decided it wasn't working, and never told you. On day one of her job as COO of a hormone clinic in Orlando, Jody became a patient — and Facebook Lived the entire thing. The blood draw. The consultation. The pellet procedure. Eighteen hours later, a feeling she describes as fourteen cups of coffee and the energy of a child. And then it faded, and she started chasing that first rush, and for a while she thought hormone therapy didn't work — while she was working inside the clinic, with one of the field's sharpest hormone experts in the office next door. She only came out the other side because she was surrounded by people who could explain it. Most of your patients aren't. In part four of the six-part Marketing Gaps series, Jody breaks down the First Year New Patient Automation: thirteen touch points across a patient's first twelve months, designed to sit with them through the exact stretch where doubt is loudest. What each touch needs to say, why every automated piece has to be evergreen, where to build in real human contact, and the honest math on why keeping ten patients beats replacing them. TOPICS COVERED: • Why patients judge hormone therapy against a pharmaceutical timeline • Jody's own first year as a patient, Facebook Live in real time • The First Year New Patient Automation, touch by touch • What "evergreen" means and why every automated touch needs it • The 60-day personal phone call, and how to make sure it happens • The five weekly numbers every practice should be tracking • What acquisition really costs, and what retention is worth • Three fixes if you're worried about emailing patients too much Build it yourself in under two weeks, or get it prebuilt: acceleratedmedicalpractices.com/automation Free strategy session: acceleratedmedicalpractices.com/strategy Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jodybethlayne/ This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.

Ep #79 - How She Built a 7-Figure Clinic With Zero Ads

Send us Fan Mail At twenty-seven, Dr. Jordan Wiggins had $200,000 in student debt, no business history, and no bank willing to loan her a dollar. She bootstrapped a women's health clinic out of a single rented room anyway — and grew it into a seven-figure practice that patients flew in from the UK to visit. No paid ads. No Instagram. Word of mouth, until she had to stop taking new patients. Then she closed it. On purpose. Jordan is a naturopathic doctor, the founder of The Pleasure Collective, host of the Pleasure Principles podcast, and the author of The Pink Canary, featured in the Washington Post and Cosmopolitan. In this conversation she walks Jody through the whole arc — the build, the ceiling, the exit, and the rebuild. The business lessons land hard because they're specific. When Jordan became the bottleneck in her own clinic, she didn't hire her way out of it — she set boundaries, raised her prices, and offloaded everything that didn't require her hands. She niched every provider on her team so each one owned a specialty, and her front desk triaged new callers to the best-fit practitioner instead of defaulting to her. She's also candid about the five years she spent pouring her own time, money and equity into team members who were never going to be a fit. Then there's the clinical thread. Jordan's own teenage years — dismissed pelvic pain, two surgeries, blood work that showed nothing, and doctors who eventually suggested it was psychiatric — are the reasons she built a different standard of care. And years later, prescribing estrogen and watching libido stay flat is what led her to write The Pink Canary and start asking her patients a question most intakes never touch. Jordan also speaks openly about the season that forced her to stop entirely: a new baby, a two-year pandemic shutdown in Canada, and an abusive relationship she's since rebuilt her life out of. It's the honest version of the pivot story, and it's why her answer to Jody's closing question is the one it is. Topics covered - Bootstrapping a clinic with $200K in student debt and no bank financing - Why renting a room on a split was costing her more than a lease would - Building a seven-figure practice on word of mouth alone - How to fill your associate providers' schedules when patients only want you - Raising prices and setting boundaries as a growth strategy, not a marketing one - Niching each provider and triaging new patients at the front desk - Hire slow, fire fast — and the five years it took to learn it - Deciding when to shrink a business on purpose - Why estrogen alone doesn't restore libido, and what's actually going on - The intake questions most clinicians never ask - The missed opportunity in preventative sexual health for men - What Jordan is building next — and the pink flags she'll never ignore again Connect with Jordan Website: https://www.thepleasurecollective.com/ Pleasure Principles podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-pleasure-principles-with-dr-jordin-wiggins/id1568520304 The Pink Canary on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1982238747?lv=shuf&channelId=500&plpRedirect=mhFallback Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/drjordinwiggins Connect with Jody Accelerated Medical Practices: https://acceleratedmedicalpractices.com Book a complimentary strategy session: https://acceleratedmedicalpractices.com/strategy The Accelerator: https://accelerator.acceleratedmedicalpractices.com This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.

Ep #78 - Why Your Prospect’s “No” Isn’t Really No

Send us Fan Mail Most clinics don't have a lead problem. They have a "we gave up on them too soon" problem. Every time a prospect ghosts a phone call, has a great conversation and doesn't book, or says "thanks, I'm not interested" — that lead gets quietly written off, and the clinic goes right back out to buy a new one. In episode three of our six-part series on the marketing and sales gaps inside hormone and functional medicine practices, Jody makes the case that the money you're chasing is already sitting in your CRM. She walks through the five places leads go to die, and exactly what to do about each one: why nobody answers the phone anymore (and the three personal touches she and Patrick use instead — a voice memo, a 90-second video, and a real email), why a prospect who asks a hundred questions and still doesn't book is almost always just further up the buying journey than you assumed, and why the person who says no in the first thirty seconds is usually saying no to being sold to, not no to you. Then she gets into the part most clinics skip entirely: educational nurturing. Your prospects know about two percent of what you know about hormones. Jody shares the one-week notebook exercise that turns your patients' most common questions into months of content — for social, for YouTube, for your follow-up sequences. And finally, the uncomfortable one: why follow-up ends too early. It used to take five to seven touches to convert a lead. In 2026, studies put it at eighteen, twenty-five, even forty. That's not a discipline problem. That's a math problem, and math problems get solved with systems. Topics covered: • Why "new is always better" is terrible marketing advice • Unanswered phone calls: the 2026 reality, and the three-touch sequence that gets around it • The three buying stages — awareness, consideration, decision — and how to tell where a caller actually is • What to say when a prospect tells you they already booked somewhere else • The immediate "no" personality, and why pushing harder loses them for good • Educational nurturing: teaching the science instead of pitching the consult • The one-week notebook exercise that becomes your entire content calendar • The trust recession, and why touch counts have exploded • Why follow-up dies at touch three — and what to automate so it doesn't Mentioned in this episode: • The Practice Automation System — acceleratedmedicalpractices.com/automation • Email Jody directly — jody@acceleratedmedicalpractices.com onnect with Jody: www.acceleratedmedicalpractices.com https://www.instagram.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices https://www.facebook.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.

Ep #77 - He Coded His Own Friend in the ER — Then Built a 7-Figure Practice

Send us Fan Mail What if you were running the code on your best friend's husband — and didn't even realize it until the room went quiet? That's the moment that changed everything for Dr. Jeffrey Galvin. After 20 years as a board-certified emergency medicine and obesity medicine physician — including time at Boston City Hospital during the height of the AIDS epidemic and crack wars, and a stint as a military trauma specialist — Dr. Galvin walked into an ER room, looked at a patient he'd just called time of death on, and realized he knew him. That night sent him down a rabbit hole that ended with him walking away from a secure ER paycheck to build something from nothing: a single, uninsulated office inside a CrossFit gym. Sixteen years later, that CrossFit closet is Vitality Medical Wellness Institute — a state-of-the-art concierge longevity practice in Charlotte, North Carolina, serving executives, high performers, and (surprisingly) a growing roster of physicians as patients. In this episode, Jody sits down with Dr. Galvin to talk about what it actually takes to bet on yourself, why "relational medicine" is his real superpower, and how he built a nearly referral-only practice without ever really marketing it. They also get into the harder stuff: how to say no to patients who aren't ready, why he thinks most functional medicine certifications are "kind of a racket," why he refuses to compete on price, and the one sentence a frustrated patient's wife said that talked him back into treatment six months later. Topics covered: - The ER moment that changed the entire trajectory of his career - Why he calls his diagnostic process "cheating" (and how you can too) - Walmart vs. Nordstrom's: owning your pricing without apology - How to fire a patient who isn't going to be compliant — and why that protects your reputation - Building a staff and mentorship pipeline when you're one of the only practices doing what you do - The most dangerous trend in longevity medicine right now Connect with Dr. Jeffrey Galvin: Website: https://www.vitalitymwi.com/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vitalitymwi/ This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.

Ep #76 - Why Your Best Employee Still Can't Sell — And What Actually Fixes It

Send us Fan Mail Every hire is an A-player. So why is your sales conversion still flat? This week on Beyond Hormones, Jody tackles episode two in the six-part series on the biggest marketing and sales gaps hiding inside growing hormone and functional medicine clinics — and this one isn't about culture, it's about staffing structure. Jody breaks down the single most common mistake she sees in clinics that have grown just enough to bring on a team: handing the sales conversation to whoever happens to be friendly at the front desk. Using a real walkthrough of the numbers — a patient liaison's salary versus what that role can actually generate in revenue over three years — Jody makes the case for why sales needs to be its own dedicated role, not a task squeezed in between charting and phone calls. She digs into why being "friendly" doesn't equal being "skilled" at sales, why privacy changes everything about whether a hesitant patient says yes, and why even the best-designed role eventually needs a system underneath it to catch what one person can't. If you've ever wondered why your team is great but your conversion numbers say otherwise, this episode is for you. Topics covered: • Why giving one employee too many roles quietly costs you patients • The real difference between "friendly" and "sales-skilled" • Why privacy is often the deciding factor in whether a patient starts treatment • A simple math exercise to justify (or design) your next hire • What KPIs a patient liaison role should actually be tracked on • Why sales and marketing have to work as one loop, not two departments • Where automation fits in once your team still runs out of hours in the day Connect with Jody: www.acceleratedmedicalpractices.com https://www.instagram.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices https://www.facebook.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices The Accelerator: accelerator.acceleratedmedicalpractices.com Practice Automation System: acceleratedmedicalpractices.com/automation This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.

Ep #75 - How to Get Found by AI Before Your Competitors Do

Send us Fan Mail He's not a hormone doctor. He's not even in medicine. He trains dogs. And he might just have the sharpest, most battle-tested marketing playbook Jody has heard on this show all year. When Chad first reached out, Jody almost said no — "you're not appropriate for this show." One call later, her mind was made up. Chad, a Navy veteran turned founder of K9 Revolution Dog Training, built his business from the ground up after nearly every "expert" he hired failed him. So he taught himself. Meta ads, Google ads, content, automation, and — most recently — how to get his business recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini, and every other AI tool patients and clients are now using to find a provider. In this conversation, Chad and Jody talk about the moment he realized nobody would ever care about his business the way he did, how he found his unique value by studying the gaps in his competitors' messaging, why it took him almost eight years to embrace automation (and what he'd do differently), and the exact test he ran to see whether AI search engines even knew his business existed. Spoiler: they didn't recommend him — at first. Every principle in this episode translates directly to running a cash-pay hormone or functional medicine practice. This is one you'll want to take notes on. Topics covered: ✔ Why Chad fired his marketing agencies and did it himself ✔ The two "buckets of money" every new practice owner needs before taking the leap ✔ Finding your unique value proposition by studying your competitors' gaps ✔ Lead magnets, automated follow-up sequences, and why personalization is everything ✔ How to test whether AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini even know your practice exists ✔ Three concrete tactics to improve your AI search visibility (Reddit, press releases, and YouTube) ✔ The mindset shift from "I hate sales" to "sales is how I help more people" Where You Can Find Chad:  K9RevolutionDogTraining.com.  https://www.youtube.com/@CanineRevolution https://www.instagram.com/k9.revolution_/ This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.

Ep #74 - The 3 Hidden Leaks Costing You Patients While You're Still Growing

Send us Fan Mail You can add ten new patients this month and still be losing ground. That's the uncomfortable truth Jody opens with in episode one of a brand-new six-part series on the marketing and sales gaps quietly draining revenue out of hormone and functional medicine clinics. For thirty years, Jody's job has been telling business owners that more customers is the answer to slow growth. In this episode, she flips that script. Using the image of a leaky bucket — one hole for lead follow-up, one for patient experience, one for retention — she shows exactly how a clinic can spend more on marketing every month and still fail to grow, because the water is pouring right back out the bottom. Jody pulls from real stories along the way, including a formative lesson from her mother's fax machine, the "date your patients" philosophy she borrowed from her own nineteen-year marriage, and the retention tactics — including a thirteen-touch patient automation and a monthly event called Wellness Matters — that she built at her own hormone clinic in Orlando. This episode kicks off a new run of Thursday episodes dedicated to marketing, and it sets up everything that's coming: how to actually diagnose where your bucket is leaking, and what to do about each hole, one at a time. Topics covered: — Why "get more patients" is often the wrong answer to a growth problem — The three follow-up categories most clinics fall into, and why the middle one doesn't work anymore — A simple hour-long exercise to map your entire patient experience — How to build a retention system that keeps patients for years, not months — The real math behind patient lifetime value and word-of-mouth growth Connect with Jody: www.acceleratedmedicalpractices.com https://www.instagram.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices https://www.facebook.com/acceleratedmedicalpractices This podcast is powered by Accelerated Medical Practices, where we believe hormone and wellness care should be both life-changing and profitable.
