    BRYAN TROTTIER PART 1 | Ice Guardians Ep 54

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull are hanging out with six-time Stanley Cup champion Bryan Trottier in part one of their conversation this week. Trotts and Chaser tell Hully about the first time they ever met on the ice and the guys talk about the similarities between Trotts and Mark Messier and how far back those comparisons go. Trotts fills the guys in what it was like growing up in Saskatchewan with Native grandparents and what role music has played in his life. Hully asks Trotts about getting drafted and starting his career with a great young group in New York and Trotts goes into the influence Al Arbour had on the Islanders teams of the late 70s and early 80s and how the Trio Grande line came to be. Trotts discusses his first impressions of the Edmonton Oilers and how the passing of one dynasty to another happened because of the example the Islanders set after winning. They talk about rivalries and how much the media and the fans made the Rangers-Islanders rivalry as great as it was.     JAMAL MAYERS | Ice Guardians Ep 53

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull are catching up with former NHL forward and Stanley Cup Champion Jamal Mayers this week. Jammer tells Hully and Chaser about growing up in downtown Toronto with his single mother and older brother and how he didn't really get started in hockey until he was 11, but then moved up the ranks quicker than most. Jammer talks about getting drafted by the Blues and what it was like coming up to play between and learn from Twister and Chaser in the NHL. Jammer remembers some funny interaction with Basil McRae and then tells Hully about playing in Worcester. The guys talk about Jammer getting to play the first time in Toronto and why only his brother and his grandma were there to see it and they relive some of the greatest Blues teams Jammer got to play on. Hully brings up Mayers getting to go play for the Leafs in Toronto and the guys talk about the way they used to poke at each other on the bench. Jammer talks about playing for Joel Quenneville in Chicago and the joys of winning a Cup in his final year in the league. Chaser talks with Jammer about the new podcast, The Ride Home, that Jammer will be bringing to the Ice Guardians Network to give advice to parents on raising young athletes and helping their kids reach their potential.     DARREN PANG | Ice Guardians Ep 52

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull sit down with former Chicago Blackhawks goalie and NHL broadcaster Darren Pang. Panger speaks on how little broadcasting has changed in his time doing it and tells the guys how he got his start in the industry during his playing career. Chaser tells the story of his first TV broadcast and the advice he got from Jack Buck and the guys laugh about a time when a retired Hully got hurt and had to miss a few rounds of golf. Panger talks about his youth hockey days and some of the other NHLers that he grew up around. The guys talk about some goalies that deserve to be in the HOF and Hully and Panger talk about some Team USA memories from the 2002 Olympics. Panger goes into more detail on his broadcast career path and shares how his former teammates in Chicago made the transition to broadcasting easier for him. Chaser and Panger remember the time they went to see Pat Maroon play as a kid and talk about the new podcast Panger and Big Rig will be doing.     TONY GRANATO | Ice Guardians Ep 51

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull are joined in studio this week by former NHL forward and coach, Tony Granato. The guys all discuss how they met and how Hully has known Tony for most of their lives. Tony tells Chaser what kind of a player Brett was as a mite. Granato tells Chaser about his time trying out for the US Olympic team in 1984 and how that led to him playing at Wisconsin and ultimately making it to the NHL. Granato asks Hully about how he ended up playing for Team USA instead of Team Canada on the international stage and the guys talk about some great memories from their time together on those teams, and Chaser relives his time watching Hully score to win the Cup in Dallas. Tony talks about his short time playing for the New York Rangers and some of the lessons he learned while he was there before getting traded to LA to play with Gretzky. The guys talk about the Kings Cup run in 1993 and how the team was able to get to a good spot without Gretzky. Hully asks Granato about the transition from playing to coaching and Tony goes into some of the details of getting that first job in Colorado. Kelly has a bone to pick with Tony about a disagreement they had when Granato was a coach in Pittsburgh and Chaser was working at NHL Network, and Kelly relays the story of how he found out he won the King Clancy.     KEVIN KAMINSKI | Ice Guardians Ep 50

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull are catching up with Kevin "Killer" Kaminski this week. Killer tells the guys about his time playing for the Saskatoon Blazers in AAA and some of the guys that he played with, and Hully asks how he got his nickname. Killer shares his story of getting drafted into the NHL and what his first experience in the Show was like before going right back to the Saskatoon Blades for the Memorial Cup. The guys discuss the injuries Killer suffered and the difference in protective equipment from then to now. Hully and Chaser ask Killer about his favorite fights in the NHL and about the number of stitches he had to get over the course of his career. The guys talk about how great Bob Probert was, but how Wendel Clark always seemed to have his number. Killer talks about the concussion that ended his career and how he got into coaching right after his playing days were over. He also tells the guys about the time he went gator hunting in Louisiana and talks about how great it is to be coaching at the youth level back in  Saskatoon. Hully tells the guys the story of how his dad and Stan Mikita first started putting curves in their sticks and the guys discuss the origins of the tiedown on hockey jerseys. DMac and Hully talk about playing with Pavel Datsyuk early in his career and some of the great coaches they played for. The guys talk about how much luck played into so many NHLers getting into the league.     RICK ZOMBO | Ice Guardians Ep 48

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull come to you from the Window World Studio with former NHL defenseman Rick Zombo. Hully and Zombo talk about growing up in the Chicago area and some of the guys they played youth hockey with and against and Zombo tells the guys about his road to the USHL and University of North Dakota. Zombo and Hully talk about the atmosphere of college hockey venues when they played and the guys all relive some of their favorite memories from the rivalry between Detroit and St. Louis, including one of the greatest fights in NHL history. Zombo tells Hully about his time in Detroit and what it was like playing there when all the European players started joining the team. The guys also talk about the alumni group in Detroit and about how great the Ilitch family is to the team. Zombo remembers one of the best pieces of advice he received about connecting with the local community and he fills the guys in on some of the troubles he has faced in his life since leaving hockey.     JIM MONTGOMERY | Ice Guardians Ep 47

    Kelly Chase and Brett Hull are back in the Window World Studio with former teammate and current St. Louis Blues head coach Jim Montgomery this week. Monty and Hully talk about the recruitment process to play college hockey and how NIL money has effected hockey. The guys relive one of the greatest pranks pulled on Monty while he was playing for the Blues and some of the other shenanigans they used to get up to in the locker room. Monty talks about playing with Paul Kariya at Maine before going pro and then discusses how he got into coaching at the college level. Hully and Monty talk about the special talent that Johnny Gaudreau had at a young age and the guys compare coaching at the college level and the NHL. Monty tells Hully the importance of scheduled days off, the Blues tough start to the season, and how the team is approaching the condensed training camp this year. Monty relives his time as a player/assistant coach for the Missouri River Otters during an NHL lockout year and some of the things that he learned that have shaped who he is as a coach. The guys talk about the upcoming season for the Blues and Monty tells the guys what he's excited about heading into training camp.
