Stone County Extension Saves the World is an educational and humorous podcast hosted by Stone County Arkansas, County Extension Agents: Anna Harlan (Family and Consumer Science Agent) and Tyler Caston (Agriculture Agent). They work for the University of Arkansas Systems Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service.     Ep. 14- Eat at Home, Save Money/ Save Time... to Spray

    Want to save money, stop eating out.  Easier said than done.  In this episode Tyler and Anna are back at it.  It's the time of year to start thinking about weed control. Herbicides have there place and Tyler talks about pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides in lawns, landscape beds, pastures and hayfields.  Timing your spray application is important for control.  Anna talks about how to save money by buying ingredients to cook at home, rather than going out to eat all the time.

    Ep. 13 - Save for a Snowy Day

    Best episode of the year, so far. Anna and Tyler talk winter weather tips.  Tyler gives some tips on protecting plants and making sure to provide adequate nutrition to livestock in winter weather.  Some of the tips, would have been nice to know a few months ago, but remember, now you know for next year.    Anna continues with financial tips to help you get your finances in order. She also gives winter emergency prep tips.  Tyler responds to a question from a viewer about fermented feed and the info he found.  If you like the stories they tell, this ones got a few.

Tyler discusses pond management tips for controlling aquatic weeds and what can be done in the winter. Also stocking fish for recreation and fish that can be stocked for biological weed control.
