    Blindspot Patterns

Episode 41: Blindspot Patterns It’s easy to see a pattern in someone else’s life. It’s a lot harder to recognize one in your own. In this episode of I’m So Grown, we’re continuing the conversation about patterns—but this time, I’m turning the mirror on myself. Last episode, I asked you: What patterns do you have? Well, I'm answering that question today. I’m sharing three patterns I’ve noticed in myself: • The Cut-Off Pattern — when protecting myself means creating distance from people, situations, and even opportunities. • The “Reject You Before You Reject Me” Pattern — especially in romantic relationships, when uncertainty makes me want to leave before I have to experience rejection. • The Cold Shoulder Pattern — a behavior I used much more when I was younger, when shutting someone out felt easier than dealing with the conflict. And underneath all three, I noticed something bigger: When something feels uncertain, unsafe, hurtful, or disappointing, my instinct can be to create distance. But recognizing the pattern is only the beginning. Sometimes being grown is becoming a person who can recognize patterns, question them, and then decide whether they still serve you. Patterns Are Not Mistakes

Episode 40: Patterns Are Not Mistakes What happens when you stop giving people grace for the same behavior over and over again? In Episode 40 of I’m So Grown Podcast, we’re talking about the difference between mistakes and patterns, and why recognizing the pattern can change the way you approach friendships, relationships, boundaries, and self-respect. I recently came across the quote, “Grace is for mistakes, not patterns,” and whew… it freed me. Because how many times have we said, “Maybe they’re going through something,” “Give them grace,” or “That’s just how they are”—only to realize years later that the behavior wasn’t an isolated mistake. It was a pattern. This episode is about setting boundaries, recognizing toxic patterns, trusting your intuition, practicing discernment, and no longer accepting less than your standards. And yes, we’re also talking about the difference between giving grace and allowing repeated behavior, because understanding someone’s struggles doesn’t mean giving them unlimited access to you. Sometimes growth looks like forgiveness. Sometimes it looks like a boundary. And sometimes it looks like finally believing what someone’s pattern has been showing you all along. Welcome back to I’m So Grown Podcast.  Sometimes being grown is… looking at the pattern and realizing it's not a mistake. #ImSoGrownPodcast #PatternsNotMistakes #Grace #Boundaries #Friendship #ToxicFriendships #SelfRespect #PersonalGrowth #Healing #GrownWoman #Relationships #EmotionalBoundaries #Discernment #SelfWorth
