Should Investors Pick Euro Stocks Over US Equities? PowerCast w Tyler Mathisen, Season 2, Episode 1

President Donald Trump’s unpredictable fiscal and foreign policy are a key factor reshaping expectations for economic growth on both sides of the Atlantic. Without getting political, guests on the latest PowerCast with Tyler Mathisen discuss how investors might rebalance portfolios for 2026. The latest episode offers ideas from Liam Boggan of Quantmatix Limited, Kristina Hooper of Man Group, and Bobbi Rebell Kaufman, CFP® on how Americans can respond to the affordability crisis. In the latest episode of PowerCast, experts offered diverging views on the outlook for U.S. equities. Quantmatix Chief Executive Officer Liam Boggan indicated that signals from his firm’s AI-driven trading platform suggest the U.S. economy will expand in 2026, with inflation remaining subdued—an outcome that would be welcomed by most investors as a “Goldilocks” scenario. In contrast, Man Group Chief Market Strategist Kristina Hooper said that after three years of robust, double-digit stock market returns, the U.S. could face a mild recession and low-to-high single-digit declines in U.S. stocks in 2026. Despite their differences on the U.S. outlook, both experts agreed European equities are positioned to outperform their American counterparts in 2026.Hooper added that gold is emerging as the preferred safe haven for many investors “because it carries with it arguably less risk” than U.S. Treasuries. According to financial wellness expert Bobbi Rebell, concerns about market conditions and affordability have reached such elevated levels in the United States that 61% of Americans now identify money as their primary source of stress. Indeed, she said a growing number of Americans are now using savings or taking on new debt to cover everyday expenses. However, Rebell advises that Americans should not rely on potential caps on credit card interest rates or other policy interventions; instead, she recommends proactively managing your personal financial wellbeing. This podcast represents opinions and is not intended as investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell securities.
