    Matthew // Week 21

    Why do we worry? In Matthew 6:25–27, Jesus doesn't just tell us to stop worrying—He reveals the root of it. Worry often grows from a heart that's devoted to things we desperately want to control. In this message, we'll explore two life-changing truths from Jesus' teaching: Your devotion determines your worry. Whatever has your deepest devotion will often become the source of your greatest anxiety. When our hearts cling to control, worry follows. When our hearts are devoted to God, peace begins to replace fear. Your job is to do what you can do. God's job is to do what you can't do. Jesus reminds us that worry cannot add a single hour to our lives. We are called to faithfully obey and trust God with the results that are beyond our control. If you've been carrying stress, anxiety, or the weight of trying to control every outcome, this message is an invitation to place your trust back where it belongs—with the God who faithfully provides.

    Matthew // Week 22

    Jesus never tells us to stop caring—He tells us to stop worrying. In Matthew 6:27–30, He points us to the birds and the flowers to remind us that our heavenly Father faithfully provides for His creation. If God cares for them, how much more does He care for us? In this message, we'll discover how Jesus exposes the connection between worry and faith: The reason your worry feels so big is because your faith is so small. Worry grows when trust in God's character shrinks. The bigger your faith, the smaller your worry. As your confidence in God's goodness increases, anxiety begins to lose its grip. Worry is a choice. While circumstances aren't always within our control, where we place our trust is. Seeking first your own security fuels worry, but seeking first the agenda of God brings freedom. When our lives revolve around protecting ourselves, worry multiplies. When God's Kingdom becomes our priority, we experience the peace that comes from trusting Him to provide.     Matthew // Week 20

    Do you struggle with worry? In this message from Matthew 6:25–27, we explore Jesus' invitation to live free from the grip of anxiety by trusting our Heavenly Father. Worry often grows from fear and our desire to control what we cannot. But Jesus offers us a better way—a life rooted in confidence in God's care and His Kingdom. We'll also look at 1 Peter 1:1–17, where Peter reminds believers of the living hope we have in Christ and the secure identity we possess as God's people. In this message, we'll discover: Why the root of worry is often fear and the desire for control. God's consistent invitation throughout Scripture: "Do not be afraid." Why we don't have to let worry control us because we belong to Jesus and His Kingdom. How knowing our value in God's eyes gives us confidence to trust Him with today and tomorrow. No matter what you're facing, Jesus calls you to exchange anxiety for trust and to rest in the Father's faithful care.

    How am I prone to enhancing my reputation? Prayer and Fasting isn't about looking spiritual—it's about drawing near to God. In this message from Matthew 6:16–18, we continue through the Sermon on the Mount as Jesus exposes the danger of practicing spiritual disciplines for the approval of others. He warns against becoming "hypocrites"—people who project an image to protect what's hidden under the mask. The truth is, all of us can fall into the trap of wanting to look good in the eyes of others. Whether it's our generosity, prayer, or fasting, God isn't impressed by appearances. He cares about our hearts. Our motives matter to Him.     Matthew // Week 18

    In Matthew 6:1–4, Jesus confronts the danger of performance faith — doing spiritual things to be seen, admired, and applauded by others. The Pharisees pursued public honor and social reputation, but Jesus warns that human applause is the only reward they receive. This message explores how God looks beyond our actions to the motives behind them. Jesus calls us into a deeper, quieter faithfulness: a life where generosity, obedience, and devotion are not for display, but done in secret before the Father. “Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.” The truth is, we all wrestle with mixed motives. But Jesus invites us to: • Examine our hearts honestly • Cultivate a secret life of faithfulness • Rest in the approval of our Father, who sees what is done in secret The Father sees. The Father knows. And His approval is enough.

Jay brings a great word out of Matthew 5:21–26, where we explore how Jesus takes the commandment “do not murder” deeper than outward actions and into the condition of our hearts. The law says: don’t take life—but Jesus calls us to bring life. We bring life through: • The thoughts we think • The words we speak • The actions we take • Choosing forgiveness and reconciliation with others Anger isn’t ignored or excused—it’s brought honestly before Jesus, where transformation begins. This teaching challenges us to move beyond surface-level obedience and into a life marked by grace, humility, and restoration.

    In this message from Matthew 5:17–20, we take a closer look at what Jesus really meant when He talked about the law—and why His words still challenge us today. Jesus is often misunderstood. Some assume Christianity means there are no rules, just grace and freedom to live however we want. Others believe following Him is all about strict obedience, trying to earn God’s acceptance through rule-keeping. But Jesus points to something deeper. He says, “I did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.” This reminds us that God’s Word still carries enduring authority—it hasn’t been set aside, but brought to completion in Christ. At the same time, Jesus warns about the danger of minimizing God’s commands. Obedience isn’t what earns our salvation, but it is evidence of a transformed heart. Then comes a shocking statement: “Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Pharisees…” Jesus raises the standard beyond outward rule-following to something internal—a life shaped by love for God. We don’t obey to be loved; we obey because we are loved. Ultimately, this passage points us to fulfillment in Christ—where grace and truth meet, and where true righteousness is found.
