Tune into our podcast episodes every Sunday! We may not have much control over what is happening in this world of ours, and we may feel powerless to change things, but the truth is that we can change it by starting with ourselves. If every one of us started making the changes within ourselves and at home first, eventually positive things would evolve and stand out in the world around us. That’s how we can be an integral part of the world we want to see.

Your Body Knows How You Feel Before You Do (Here's How to Read It)

Ever snap "out of nowhere" — and then wonder where that even came from? It wasn't out of nowhere. Your body felt it first. Here's how to read the emotions in your body before they take over. Welcome to Episode 2 of The Emotional Edge: A Hope Regained Series — a weekly series on building real emotional intelligence after life's hard chapters. Today, Christianne Boudreau breaks down why so many of your reactions seem to come from nowhere, and what's actually happening underneath: your body registers emotion — a clenched jaw, a tight chest, a stomach drop — often before your mind puts it into words. When you miss that signal, you meet the moment already flooded. If you want to learn how to control your emotions without suppressing them, grow your self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and finally understand how emotions show up in the body, this episode is for you. 📝 FREE COMPANION WORKSHEET — The Body Barometer (body map, 7-day scan tracker, Feelings Log #2): 👉 hoperegained.com/blog IN THIS EPISODE, YOU'LL LEARN: ✔ Why emotions show up in your body before your brain catches up ✔ What interoception is — and why it's the missing first step of emotional intelligence ✔ The 4-part Body Barometer: The Signal, The Scan, The Source, The Shift ✔ The one "feeling" that usually isn't a feeling at all (and how it starts arguments) ✔ A 10-second body scan you can do anywhere — at a red light, in a meeting, or hiding in the bathroom at a family gathering ✔ This week's practice: Feelings Log #2 CHAPTERS 0:00 Your body already told you (why you "snap out of nowhere") 0:44 Welcome to The Emotional Edge, Episode 2 2:39 Why emotions seem to come out of nowhere 6:47 Interoception: how your brain reads your body 7:50The study that mapped where we feel emotions in the body 9:12 What ignoring your body costs you 12:10 The Body Barometer: a 4-step tool 13:02 Step 1 — The Signal: find your first-responder 14:08 Step 2 — The Scan: a 10-second body check 15:19 Step 3 — The Source: the "feeling" that's really hunger 17:31 Step 4 — The Shift: calm your body, choose your move 19:23 Example: "Can we talk later?" You Don't Have An Anger Problem, You Have a Vocabulary Problem

You don’t have an anger problem. You have a vocabulary problem — and once you see it, you can’t unsee it.In this first episode of a brand-new series, The Emotional Edge: A Hope Regained Series, we’re breaking down why most people can only name three or four emotions — fine, stressed, mad, sad — and why that vagueness is exactly what makes your emotions feel impossible to control. Grounded in Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett’s research on emotional granularity, this episode teaches you a simple, repeatable framework — The Granularity Method — for turning a vague feeling into a precise one, so you can finally understand what you’re actually dealing with in the moment it’s happening. This one goes deeper than past episodes on this topic — two full worked examples (a relationship moment and a workplace moment), not just one, so you actually walk away able to use it.If you’ve ever wondered why you snap over small things, why “I’m fine” never feels quite true, or how to build real emotional intelligence and self-awareness without years of therapy-speak, this episode is your starting point.FREE COMPANION WORKSHEET (Feelings Log #1 + full emotional vocabulary list): → hoperegained.com/blogWHAT YOU’LL LEARN: – Why naming your emotions precisely is the #1 skill behind emotional regulation – The 4-part Granularity Method: The Vague Label → The Zoom-In Question → The Precise Word → The Pattern – The one question to ask yourself that reveals what any feeling is actually trying to tell you – Why anger is almost always a “bodyguard” for a softer, more vulnerable feeling underneath – This week’s practice (homework): Feelings Log #1CHAPTERS 0:00 You don’t have an anger problem, you have a vocabulary problem1:08 Welcome to The Emotional Edge series (Intro)2:23 The Problem: why “fine,” “stressed,” and “mad” are the only four words most of us use4:29 Why It Causes Us Challenges: the real cost of staying vague 7:59 The Solution: The Granularity Method (two worked examples) 20:27 How to Get to a Better Place: this week’s practice + Feelings Log #1 22:42 Next week’s episode + free worksheetSUBSCRIBE for new episodes every Sunday, and follow The Emotional Edge series all the way through — one new tool every week, building toward one emotional vocabulary you’ll actually use.Listen everywhere: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTubeTell me in the comments: what’s the vaguest word you catch yourself using the most — “fine,” “stressed,” or something else?Hope Regained is here to help you rebuild — your confidence, your relationships, and your understanding of yourself — after the parts of life that knock you down. Your Emotions Are Being Used Against You (And You Don't See It)

Your emotions are being used against you, and most of us never see it happening. In this series opener of the Hope Regained Podcast, Christianne Boudreau shows how manipulators, media and even the people closest to you steer your feelings, and how emotional intelligence, self-awareness and emotional resilience put your hands back on the wheel. If you've ever woken up calm and ended the day furious at a stranger, apologized without knowing why, or made a decision you later realized wasn't really yours, this episode is for you. You'll learn why love and fear drive almost every choice you make, the psychological manipulation tactics that work on people with low emotional awareness, why the "bubble" we built after COVID blinds us instead of protecting us, and a simple four-question tool, The Steering Wheel Check, to help you control your emotions instead of letting them control you. This episode opens two new series on personal growth and personal development: THE EMOTIONAL EDGE (11 episodes): building emotional intelligence, one practical skill at a time. He Was Given Less Than 1% to Survive. This Is What He Did Next.

On October 11, 2024, Brussels entrepreneur and restaurateur Vincent Van den Broeck was struck by a car while riding an e-scooter — hit at 55 km/h in a 30 km/h zone. He suffered multiple fractures and severe brain trauma, spent weeks in a coma, and was told he had almost no chance of surviving. In this episode of Hope Regained, Vincent sits down with host Christianne Boudreau to talk about what actually happened in that hospital room, the three months of rehabilitation that followed, and the mindset that got him walking out of rehab months ahead of schedule.  He opens up about the people who carried him through it, the nightly ritual of three questions he still asks himself today, and why he calls his new book ‘our’ story instead of his own. Vincent is the author of Everything Feels Impossible Until It's Done: How the Life You Build Becomes the Life That Saves You — releasing today, October 11, 2026, exactly two years after the accident. This is Part 7 of our seven-part “Rebuilding Your Life” series. 📖 More from Vincent:  Instagram @vincentinthekitchen Website https://untilitsdone.eu/ Linkedin: @vincentvandenbroeck Book: Everything Feels Impossible Until It's Done - Available for purchase on Amazon The Until It's Done Club:  https://www.skool.com/until-its-done-9289/about 🌿 More from Hope Regained: hoperegained.com/blog Timestamps: 0:00 The Moment Everything Changed 1:08 The Accident That Defined a Journey 2:59 The Core of Authenticity 6:03 Building a Life You Love 8:22 Non-Negotiable Happiness 14:02 The Last Moments Before the Impact 18:31 Waking Up to a New Reality 28:54 Defying the Odds in Rehabilitation #HopeRegained #rebuildingyourlife  #resiliencemindset

Who Are You Becoming? (Not Just What You Survived)

You don't have to know exactly who you're becoming to start becoming them — you just have to stop waiting for a finished blueprint before you take the next small step. In this season finale of The Rebuild, I'm breaking down why we get stuck waiting to "figure ourselves out" before we're allowed to move forward, and introducing the Identity Blueprint — a simple, four-part framework for rebuilding your sense of who you are after a hard chapter, without needing a finished picture of the new you first. If you've spent this whole season rebuilding — your confidence, your routines, your relationships, your capacity for joy — and you're still quietly stuck on the question "okay, but who am I now?", this episode is for you. You are not required to have that answer memorized. You're allowed to still be drafting it, one small, ordinary action at a time. In this episode: • Why waiting to "feel like yourself again" before you act is backwards — and what the research on identity actually says instead • The psychology of "possible selves" and narrative identity, and why the story you tell about your hard chapter shapes who you become next • The Identity Blueprint: a 4-part framework for rebuilding who you are — The Old Floor Plan, The Load-Bearing Values, The Unbuilt Rooms, and Moving In • This season's final Rebuilding Journal prompt (free printable in the show notes) • What's coming next week: my season-finale conversation with Vincent Van den Broeck TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro: The Question Nobody Asks You Out Loud 1:26 Welcome Back + Everything We've Rebuilt This Series 3:06 The Reframe: Why You Don't Need a Finished Blueprint First 8:19 The Identity Blueprint Framework Begins 9:35 Part 1: The Old Floor Plan 11:20 Part 2: The Load-Bearing Values 12:42 Part 3: The Unbuilt Rooms 14:25 Part 4: Moving In 17:06 Practice of the Week: Rebuilding Journal Prompt #6 21:21 Coming Next Week: My Conversation With Vincent Van den Broeck FREE COMPANION WORKSHEET Grab this week's Identity Blueprint printable and the full series's Rebuilding Journal — free — at hoperegained.com/blog THE REBUILD: A HOPE REGAINED SERIES This is Episode 6 of a 7-part series on what it actually takes to rebuild your life after a hard chapter — not the highlight-reel version, the real one. This is the final solo episode of the series — next week closes with an in-depth, inspiring conversation with Vincent Van den Broeck, author of the upcoming book "Everything Feels Impossible Until It's Done: How the Life You Build Becomes the Life That Saves You," available October 11, 2026, on Amazon. Why Feeling Happy Again Feels Like a Betrayal

Feeling happy again after a hard chapter shouldn't feel like a betrayal — but for so many people rebuilding their lives, it does. In this episode of Hope Regained, we break down why joy feels unearned, far away, or even guilt-inducing after loss, trauma, or a major life reset — and we introduce a simple, research-backed framework called The Joy Ledger to help you let good feelings back in without your nervous system slamming the door. This is Episode 5 of "The Rebuild," a seven-part Hope Regained series on what it actually takes to rebuild your life after a hard chapter — one piece at a time. Today we're tackling rebuilding joy: the guilt that shows up when things start going right, the psychology of survivor's guilt in everyday life, and why your brain treats good news like a threat after it's spent months (or years) scanning for the next bad thing. You'll learn: ✔️ Why feeling guilty about being happy again is far more common than anyone admits ✔️ The real psychological reason joy can feel unsafe after trauma or loss (hint: it's not a character flaw) ✔️ The Joy Ledger — a 4-part framework (The False Debt, The First Deposit, The Guilt Audit, and Compounding) to help you let joy back in, on purpose, in small doses ✔️ The research behind savoring and Barbara Fredrickson's broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions ✔️ This week's Rebuilding Journal prompt (#5 in our season-long journal thread) → Grab the free companion worksheet for this episode at hoperegained.com/blog — it walks you through The Joy Ledger and this week's journal prompt so you can actually use what you just listened to. This series is building toward something big: Episode 7 is a full-length interview with @Vincent Van den Broeck, tied to his upcoming book "Everything Feels Impossible Until It's Done." If this episode moved you even a little, that conversation is the one to stick around for. → New episodes of Hope Regained every week. You Don't Have to Save Every Relationship From Before

You don't have to save every relationship from before your hard chapter to prove you're a good friend — you have to let your circle reorganize around who you are now. In Episode 4 of The Rebuild, I'm breaking down why relationships fading, ending, or unexpectedly beginning after a major life change is normal and even healthy, and introducing the Garden Method — a simple, four-part framework for letting old relationships end without guilt and letting new ones in without fear. If you've been quietly keeping score of who reached out and who didn't during your hardest chapter, or feeling guilty for not missing an old friend as much as you think you should — this episode is for you. Your friend group changing isn't proof something's wrong with you. It's proof the conditions of your life changed, and a healthy circle is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. In this episode: • Why losing friends after a major life change is normal, not a personal failure • The real, research-backed reason some friendships fade after a hard chapter (it's not you) • The Garden Method: a 4-part framework for your relationships — The Overgrowth, The Pruning, The Fallow Ground, The New Seeds • This week's Rebuilding Journal prompt (free printable in the show notes) • A one-sentence piece of what's coming in my season-finale conversation with Vincent Van den Broeck TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro 0:30 Welcome Back + Where We Left Off 2:00 The Message I Almost Sent 4:00 The Reframe: Why Your Circle Is Supposed to Change 11:00 The Garden Method: A 4-Part Framework for Your Relationships 26:00 Practice of the Week: The Rebuilding Journal 30:00 The Sentence That Stopped Me 33:00 Coming This Season: My Conversation With Vincent Van den Broeck 34:00 This Week's Practice + What's Next FREE COMPANION WORKSHEET Grab this week's Garden Method printable and Rebuilding Journal page — free — at hoperegained.com/blog THE REBUILD: A HOPE REGAINED SERIES This is Episode 4 of a 7-part series on what it actually takes to rebuild your life after a hard chapter — not the highlight-reel version, the real one. You Don't Have to Get Back to Your Old Routine

You don't have to get back to your old routine to heal — you have to build a new one that actually fits who you are now. In Episode 3 of The Rebuild, I'm breaking down why the pressure to "get back to normal" is aiming at the wrong target, and introducing the Scaffold Method — a simple, four-part framework for rebuilding your daily structure after a hard chapter, without forcing yourself back into a life that no longer fits. If you've been trying to recreate your old mornings, your old Sundays, your old sense of "normal," and it keeps quietly falling apart no matter how hard you try — this episode is for you. It's not falling apart because you're doing it wrong. It's falling apart because you're building on ground that already shifted. In this episode: • Why "getting back to normal" is the wrong goal after any major life change • The real reason your old routine won't stick anymore (it's not a discipline problem) • The Scaffold Method: a 4-part framework for building new daily structure — Footing, Load-Bearing Beam, Temporary Brace, Striking the Scaffold • This week's Rebuilding Journal prompt (free printable in the show notes) • Another piece of what's coming in my season-finale conversation with Vincent Van den Broeck TIMESTAMPS 0:00 Intro 0:48 Welcome Back + Where We Left Off 2:35 The Week I Tried to Rebuild My Old Routine 3:35 The Reframe: Why "Back to Normal" Is the Wrong Goal 8:26 The Scaffold Method: A 4-Part Framework for New Structure 14:36 Practice of the Week: The Rebuilding Journal 15:56 Day Six: The Story I Promised You 18:19 Coming This Series: My Conversation With Vincent Van den Broeck 19:39 This Week's Practice + What's Next FREE COMPANION WORKSHEET Grab this week's Scaffold Method printable and Rebuilding Journal page — free — at hoperegained.com/blog THE REBUILD: A HOPE REGAINED SERIES This is Episode 3 of a 7-part series on what it actually takes to rebuild your life after a hard chapter — not the highlight-reel version, the real one.
