    City SC Posse - Ep21: CITY Is 8th, Hartel Is Cooking, and Colorado Is Next

    St. Louis CITY SC is no longer just playing better. CITY is officially climbing. On this episode of City SC Posse, Bright and Kev recap CITY’s 3-1 road win over LA Galaxy, a result that pushed St. Louis into 8th place in the Western Conference and continued one of the hottest runs of form in MLS. Bright opens by welcoming new listeners and explaining what City SC Posse is all about: casual fan reaction, the eye test, match impressions, standings, stadium experience, and the moments fans actually talk about. The guys break down the LA win, starting with Kyle McNaughton’s strong header to open the scoring and the immediate Galaxy response that forced Roman Bürki into an important save on Marco Reus. Bürki’s return matters after the strange “fitness” questions from the previous match and Ben Lundt’s costly mistake against Sporting KC. Then Marcel Hartel took over. His first-half stoppage-time goal gave CITY a 2-0 lead at halftime, and he finished the night with a goal and two assists. Bright and Kev discuss how Hartel is becoming the attacking centerpiece for CITY and why his recent form changes the feel of the entire offense. The Becher conversation is also back.     City SC Posse - Ep20: CITY is Rolling, the Signings Are Here, and Galaxy Is Next

    City SC Posse is back for Episode 20, and suddenly the season feels alive again. Bright and Kev start by thanking everyone who watched, listened, shared, and supported the Wrexham AFC bonus episode, which became the show’s biggest episode so far. After the original Wrexham story, the stolen rental car, the missing souvenirs, and Wrexham AFC replacing the entire order, the bonus episode brought in thousands of streams and new listeners to NFNPPOD and City SC Posse. Then it is back to St. Louis CITY business. CITY beat Sporting KC 3-2 at Energizer Park, and Kev was there with Pop to take in the rivalry win. The guys talk through the atmosphere, the Thursday night crowd, the lack of SKC blue in the building, and what it felt like to be back after the World Cup break. The recap gets into the biggest talking points from the match: Roman Bürki not being in the lineup or even on the bench, Ben Lundt getting the start, Sang-Bin Jeong continuing to produce, Marcel Hartel looking like a true DP, Eduard Löwen burying the late penalty, and CITY nearly making a comfortable rivalry win way more stressful than it needed to be.     Part 2 of our July NFNP hangout episode is here — and somehow, this one turned into a prophecy. Bright and Duds continue the conversation from last week with St. Louis sports, the Cardinals, Jordan Walker, CITY SC frustration, downtown St. Louis curfews, fireworks chaos, families feeling unsafe after major events, and the question of whether the city is finally getting serious about enforcing basic rules downtown. Then the guys circle back to last week’s interview with Texas bail attorney Ken W. Good, including bail bonds, bounty hunters, failure-to-appear problems, TikTok and X reactions, and whether Rizzuto may have been listening when he suddenly decided to do his own bail-bond deep dive.     City SC Posse - Ep19: CITY Is Back, But Wrexham Stole the Show

    City SC Posse is finally back from the World Cup break, and Bright and Kev are ready to remember what St. Louis CITY SC soccer felt like before international soccer took over everyone’s brains. The guys start with a quick World Cup reset, Team USA frustration, and the relief of getting back to Energizer Park. CITY enters the restart in 12th place, still outside the playoff line, but close enough that the next stretch matters. With Sporting KC, LA Galaxy, and Colorado coming up, CITY has a real opportunity to turn its strong pre-break form into a meaningful second-half push. Before the break, CITY was finally moving in the right direction: a road win at Colorado, a home win over LAFC, a draw at D.C., an Open Cup penalty shootout win over Houston, and a 3-0 win over Austin. It was not perfect, but it was progress, and progress is a luxury item around here. Then comes the roster conversation. Sergio Córdova is gone. Cedric Teuchert is gone. CITY still needs attacking help. The transfer window is opening, and the rumor mill is currently quieter than a church basement during bingo instructions. Zach Zengue may be interesting for CITY2 and future depth, but he is not the immediate attacking answer fans are begging for. The guys preview Thursday night’s rivalry match against Sporting KC at Energizer Park. SKC is at the bottom of the West, but rivalry games are weird, restart games are weird, and CITY has a proud tradition of making bad teams feel like they just discovered electricity. This has to be a win if CITY wants the second half of the season to mean something. Then Bright closes with the Wrexham story. After visiting Wrexham during his England trip, buying gear at the Racecourse, grabbing beers at The Turf, and writing about the experience, the rental car was stolen in Birmingham with all of the Wrexham souvenirs inside. The car was eventually recovered, but the belongings were gone. Then Wrexham AFC did something incredible: they read the blog, responded, and replaced the entire order. So yes, CITY is back.     Bright comes to the NFNP from a hotel room in Minot, North Dakota, where even buying beer is more complicated than it should be. That opens the door to a conversation about strange liquor laws, Missouri freedom, college beer runs, blue laws and why St. Louis remains one of the easiest places in America to find a drink. From there, Bright and Duds recap Fourth of July weekend: fireworks, neighborhood war zones, BBQ, pork burnt ends, smokers, deep-fried turkey and the kind of holiday chaos that makes the Midwest feel alive. The episode then shifts into sports as the guys break down the United States’ disappointing World Cup exit against Belgium. After a massive audience tuned in, the U.S. still failed to deliver the kind of breakthrough win that could push American soccer into the next tier.     Bail, Bounty Hunters and Murder Suspect Lee Gilley’s Escape to Italy | Ken W. Good

    A Texas murder suspect posted a $1 million bond, surrendered his passport and was placed on GPS monitoring. Then, according to authorities, Lee Gilley cut off his ankle monitor late on a Friday, traveled from Texas into Canada and boarded a flight to Italy using a false passport. The monitor reportedly detected the tampering. The surrounding system reportedly did not respond until roughly 60 hours later. On NFNP 2x21, Matt and Duds are joined by Texas bail attorney Ken W. Good, a board member of the Professional Bondsmen of Texas and host of The Bail Post. Ken explains how Gilley was legally released, what a $1 million surety bond actually means and why an ankle monitor cannot physically stop someone from fleeing.
