Homeopathy Myths Busted: The Truth Behind the 4 Most Common Misconceptions

Send us Fan Mail If you've ever been curious about homeopathy but felt put off by what you've heard, this episode is for you. There is a lot of noise out there, and most of it is based on misunderstanding. As a former community pharmacist of nearly 20 years who retrained as a homeopath, I've heard every myth going.  In this episode I'm tackling the 4 most common myths about homeopathy head on, with the facts, the logic, and the occasional analogy that I think will make you see things rather differently. In this episode, you'll discover: •        Myth 1: It's just a placebo. The fact that busts this wide open. •        Myth 2: Diseases are caused by bacteria and viruses. Why the dirty bin analogy changes everything. •        Myth 3: Modern medicine actually cures people. The oil light on your dashboard and the problem with poly-pharmacy. •        Myth 4: CAM therapies are airy-fairy and nobody serious uses them. The answer might surprise you. •        Why complementary and alternative medicine has been around for thousands of years •        What ancient Chinese and Indian practitioners knew that modern medicine is only just catching up with •        What energy medicine actually means Whether you're already a convert or you've always been a bit sceptical, I think this episode will give you a lot to think about. Breathe Easier Naturally: 5 Tips for Managing Asthma From the Inside Out

Send us Fan Mail Every 10 seconds, someone in the UK has an asthma attack. Three people die from asthma every day. 1 in 11 children and 1 in 12 adults are living with this condition. Those statistics stopped me in my tracks when I first read them. If you or your child has asthma, you'll know the routine: brown inhaler morning and night, blue inhaler when things get bad. While those inhalers do an important job, they don't get to the root cause. They manage but don't heal. In this episode, I'm sharing what asthma actually is, how it connects to eczema and hayfever (yes, there's a direct link), and my 5 top tips for supporting the body naturally alongside conventional treatment. In this episode, you'll discover: • The statistics that show just how serious asthma is in the UK • The main symptoms of asthma and what's actually happening in the body •  What the brown and blue inhalers do (and the side effects worth knowing about) •  The fascinating three-way link between asthma, eczema and hayfever •  Why skin, bowels and lungs are connected in Chinese medicine •  Why avoiding dairy can make a real difference •  Which supplements support lung health and reduce inflammation •  How breathing exercises help (including one children can do too!) •  How to identify and manage your triggers •  How homeopathy supports asthma at the root cause level Asthma is serious. It deserves proper attention, not just symptom management. This episode gives you the tools to support your body from the inside out, alongside whatever conventional treatment you're already on. Case study: Cracked Hand Eczema: How Childhood Trauma Was Written All Over Her Skin

Send us Fan Mail This case study is about a woman who came to me with deep cracked eczema on the backs of her hands, inside both elbows, the back of her neck, and a little around her mouth. Her knuckles were cracked and painful. It was affecting her daily life. On the surface, it looked like a skin problem. However, as with so many cases I see, once we looked at her full history, a very clear picture emerged. Two significant events in her childhood. Two major experiences of rejection, change and loss of safety. So her skin had been carrying that ever since. In this case study, I'm sharing: • The presenting condition: cracked painful eczema in multiple locations • The two childhood events that shaped her whole picture • Why fear of change and feeling rejected are so relevant to skin health • The remedy I prescribed and why it fitted perfectly • What happened after the first prescription (unexpected initial response, then bowels, sleep and periods all improving) • What happened after the second prescription (hands much better, no cracking, face and elbows improved) • What happened at the end of 3 months and where she is now This is a beautiful case for showing how constitutional homeopathy treats the whole person. The eczema improved significantly. So did her periods, her sleep, her bowels, and her stress levels. Because when you get to the root, everything gets better.  Here is the link for my Menstrual cramp solution. Support the show Thank you for listening to Homeopath in Your Pocket! 18 Months of Chronic Coughing Cleared in 5 Days: A Client's Experience in her own words

Send us Fan Mail This episode is a little different from my usual ones. Today I'm joined by the wonderful Donna, one of my former clients, who has very kindly agreed to share her experience of working with me.  Donna is a full-time aftercare manager, a wife, a mum, a grandmother, and the kind of woman who holds absolutely everyone together. She came to me after 18 months of a relentless cough that was leaving her surviving on one to two hours of broken sleep a night, sitting upright just to get through the night. She had tried prescribed medication from her GP and private ENT specialists through BUPA. Things would ease temporarily, then the cough would return. Nothing was getting to the ROOT CAUSE. What Donna didn't realise was that behind the cough was something much deeper: unprocessed grief following the devastating losses of both her father and her brother within a few years of each other. Here's what we talk about in this episode: How Donna's cough began and what 18 months of broken sleep really does to youWhy conventional medication kept containing the cough rather than resolving itHow she found me through a podcast interview and what made her decide to give homeopathy a tryWhat surprised her most about that very first consultationHow the cough cleared within five days of starting her remedies, after 18 months of sufferingHow her wider wellbeing shifted in ways she wasn't expectingWhat she would say to anyone sitting on the fence about trying homeopathyDonna's words speak for themselves, so I'll leave you to listen. However, I will say that episodes like this one are exactly why I do what I do. That's a lot of people dealing with something that can feel relentless, especially when conventional treatments don't give lasting relief. Eczema: How to Heal Your Skin From the Inside Out

Send us Fan Mail Eczema is incredibly common. In the UK, 20% of all children under 5 years old suffer with it. It's not just itchy skin. For many families it means broken nights, bleeding skin, and a child who is miserable and exhausted. It starts from within, and that's where we need to look to heal it. I'm sharing my top 5 tips for managing and reducing eczema, drawing on what I know from both my pharmacy background and my years of treating it homeopathically. In this episode, you'll discover: •        Why 60% of children with eczema also suffer with broken sleep •        The fascinating connection between skin, bowels and lungs in TCM •        Which foods aggravate eczema (and what to replace them with) •        Why omega-3 is like moisturising from the inside •        The role of the gut microbiome in skin health •        Why the 3 F's matter for bowel health and eczema •        The natural topical alternatives to petroleum-based emollients •        How homeopathy treats eczema gently and at the root cause level This is one of the conditions I see most commonly in my practice, and the results can be truly transformative. For many people, it affects confidence, mood and mental health in a really significant way. Guest episode: Reiki for Stress, Burnout & Perimenopause: What Every Busy Mum Needs to Know with Louise, Reiki Master

Send us Fan Mail In this episode I'm joined by the wonderful Louise, a Reiki master practitioner and teacher based in South Croydon, for a conversation that honestly had me nodding along the entire time. Louise's journey into Reiki is a deeply personal one. After losing both of her parents, she won a Reiki session in a competition (as you do!), and that one experience changed the entire direction of her life. She went from being a primary school teacher for nearly 15 years to becoming a fully qualified Reiki master teacher, and she hasn't looked back. We cover a lot of ground in this episode, including: What Reiki actually is (and what it definitely isn't, because there are some big misconceptions out there)Why you don't need to be spiritual or religious to benefit from itHow Louise uses Reiki to get to the ROOT CAUSE of what's going on, rather than just working on the surfaceThe most common issues she sees in women aged 35 to 55, including stress, overwhelm, and perimenopause symptomsWhy so many of us wait until we hit burnout before we ask for help (and how to stop doing that)One tiny, practical thing you can do this week to start filling up your own cupLouise also shares the most relatable Wi-Fi analogy for anyone who's ever been a little bit sceptical about energy healing, and I genuinely think it'll make you see things differently. We also get into the mental load that modern women carry, why "life begins at 40" means something completely different these days, and why giving yourself permission to rest is not a luxury. It's a necessity. Oh, and my youngest is a huge fan of Louise's sessions too (she wants to be a "Reikiologist" when she grows up, which I think we should make an official qualification). You can find Louise on Instagram at @soulaligmentwithlouise Or Book in for a Reiki session with her, here.
