Olive Jones Went From Busking To A Top 10 Album | For Mary | 4Cee Sessions Podcast

Olive Jones breaks down FOR MARY, the debut album that took Olive Jones from busking on the street to the Top 10 of the UK Spotify chart, with vinyl sold out and a first headline tour. She built it slowly, over years, and it shows. In this 4Cee Sessions interview, Olive gets into growing up in a tiny Dorset village where "Dorset doesn't grow musicians," starting on saxophone at school, cutting her teeth busking (and getting chased off by police), the Leeds band that fizzled in Covid, making FOR MARY with producer James Wyatt, and the story behind "Mary", a song about mental health written for the people she loves.Along the way: the Gotts Street Park feature "Tell Me Why" that Elton John championed, supporting Bombay Bicycle Club on tour, and a debut that critics are calling the front of a British soul renaissance. This 4Cee Session was recorded live, in front of a live audience in New York City.Watch the full live performance, out now on our channel.Powered by  @distrokid  Follow Us on IG:4Cee Sessions: https://instagram.com/4cee.live/Host:  @trwlsh  / https://instagram.com/trwlsh/Olive Jones: https://instagram.com/olivejonesmusic/Camera Operator:Oneil CampbelFrancelee MoralesRaf SantanaEditing and Colors: Oneil CampbelFrancelee MoralesRecording Engineer:James YostPeter JensenSpecial Thanks to:Reservoir Studios4Cee Sessions Crew0:00 Intro0:50 First tour1:36 Dorset1:47 Musical household2:46 Saxophone3:39 First song4:52 Finding folk6:41 Busking8:13 The band10:35 Touring11:37 Solo12:48 Meeting James13:59 Collaborators15:11 Top 1016:34 "Mary"17:48 "Kingdom"19:19 Vinyl20:01 What's next21:07 Her hope21:30 Live#OliveJones #ForMary #4CeeSessions #britishsoul #altfolk

BLK ODYSSY On MOOD CONTROL, Joey Bada$$, Wiz Khalifa & Controlling Your Mind With Frequencies

BLK ODYSSY ( @BLKODYSSY  ) breaks down MOOD CONTROL, the album where BLK ODYSSY tied a frequency to every song to control how you feel. The idea came from a stranger in Berlin, an older man who studied acoustics and told him the right frequency could change how a room feels. He built the whole record on it.In this 4Cee Sessions Podcast Hosted by  @trwlsh  BLK ODYSSY gets into the frequencies concept behind MOOD CONTROL, growing up in Plainfield, NJ, getting kicked out of the boarding school where he met his manager, meeting his longtime collaborator in a Texas pizza shop, and the live band he wants you to leave weak at the knees. The Austin artist and producer is behind collaborations with Joey Bada$$ ("Stank Rose"), Wiz Khalifa ("XXX"), and Timbaland ("On Site"), and executive produced Rapsody's "Please Don't Cry." Joe Budden recently put him in the same sentence as Travis Scott and The Weeknd. This 4Cee Session was recorded live, in front of a live audience in New York City.Watch the full BLK ODYSSY live performance, out now on our channel.Camera Operator:Oneil CampbelFrancelee MoralesRaf SantanaEditing and Colors: Oneil CampbelFrancelee MoralesRecording Engineer:James YostPeter JensenSpecial Thanks to:Reservoir Studios4Cee Sessions CrewFollow Us on IG:4Cee Sessions: https://instagram.com/4cee.live/Host: @trwlsh / https://instagram.com/trwlsh/BLK ODYSSY: https://instagram.com/blkodyssy/CHAPTERS0:00 Intro: controlling your mind with frequencies1:45 Off a red-eye: 3am in LA, on stage in NYC2:29 His dad, Parliament & the New Jersey Turnpike3:11 Getting kicked out of boarding school4:14 Quitting music for basketball4:33 SoundCloud and the name "Sam Houston"5:28 Moving to Austin alone6:41 What "BLK ODYSSY" actually means7:34 Meeting Alejandro in a Texas pizza shop9:23 Life Lessons10:44 Scoring his life like a film12:36 Why "BLK VINTAGE" happened by accident13:26 Rapsody's phone call 14:37 Making music for the community16:20 Making his first album in a fried chicken kitchen17:32 The stranger in Berlin19:13 The science: 98.6 Hz20:54 A healing frequency for every song23:22 Working with Joey Bada$$, Wiz Khalifa & Rapsody26:10 Stealing his drummer & the BLK ODYSSY live band28:59 BLK ODYSSY performs live#BLKODYSSY #MoodControl #4CeeSessions #alternativeRnB #JoeyBadass

Jade LeMac on "Constellations," the Walter Boys Sync & Touring with Hilary Duff | 4Cee Sessions Podcast

"Dad, I like girls, by the way. And I have 40,000 followers on this app called TikTok."That's how it started for Jade LeMac (  @JadeLeMacMusic  ). A few years later the number reads differently: hundreds of millions of streams, a Juno nomination, a GLAAD nomination, and a summer touring with Hilary Duff. We sat down with her at 4Cee Sessions the same weekend she played Governors Ball. She took us back to Victoria, to the house where she grew up with her cousins one floor apart, forming bands and singing karaoke until music stopped being a game. She talks about rewriting Rihanna's "Stay" to be sadder at 13, which is the moment she realized she could write at all. About teaching herself piano and guitar off YouTube. About "Constellations," the chorus she wrote at 15 and didn't finish until 16, the song that keeps finding new life through its syncs and now sits north of 500 million streams on its own. We get into the EP, "It's Always at Night", and why the dark makes everything louder. Letting the people she loves end up in her songs. The value of having someone who'll tell you a song isn't good instead of lying to your face. And what hasn't changed since she was the kid singing outside her mom's storefront, trying to pull customers in off the street. Recorded live in front of an audience in New York City. Natalie Jane: "I Found Virality Before I Found Who I Was" | 4Cee Sessions Podcast

One video. Seven days. A million followers. And a career that started moving before she had the chance to figure out who she was as an artist. We had the opportunity to sit down with Natalie Jane ( @nataliejane  ) at 4Cee Sessions for an in-depth interview and podcast conversation that goes beyond the moment people discovered her online. She talks about growing up in New Jersey, writing songs at eight years old, moving to Los Angeles alone at 18, and what it actually felt like to watch everything change overnight with "Mentally Cheating."But more than any single moment, this is a conversation about the process of becoming. With her album "the world i didn't want", Natalie Jane is talking about identity, sound, and what it means to finally know what you want your music to be after the world already decided it was watching. We also get into her songwriting process, her decision to skip Berklee College of Music, discovering ABBA and disco influences, building her live show, and what comes next for one of the fastest rising pop artists right now. There's a difference between going viral and finding your voice. This is about both. This Sessions was recorded live in front of an audience in New York City.Full live performance from this session, Seven, Sabotage, and Dancing Queen (ABBA cover), out now on our channel.Hosted by  @trwlsh  Follow us on IG: Follow us on IG: 4Cee Sessions: https://instagram.com/4cee.live/Host:  @trwlsh / https://instagram.com/trwlsh/Natalie Jane: https://instagram.com/nataliejane/?hl=enVideography & Colors: Francelee MoralesOneil CampbellRecording Engineer:James YostSpecial thanks to: 4Cee Sessions CrewReservoir Studios00:00 Intro01:30 Childhood02:50 First Songs04:20 Stage Persona06:00 Influences07:30 Moving to LA08:40 Berklee Decision09:40 Songwriting Process11:00 Sabotage (Story)12:20 New Sound13:20 ABBA & Disco14:10 Artist Identity15:20 Going Viral16:30 Live Shows17:20 Performance Style18:10 High School Mentor19:20 What's Next
