What if your anxiety is trying to tell you something? | Episode 46

What happens when you stop fighting your feelings and actually get curious about them? No, really we want to know! Jane is back from a spiritual retreat in the south of France—and she has stories. Ancient sacred sites. Meditation. Baptism. Cliff jumping. Energy work. Rage. Tears. Laughter. And, of course, a few completely unexpected detours. 😂 But underneath all the stories, something much deeper emerged. Jane came away realizing that her rage didn't necessarily need to disappear. It needed direction. Instead of letting anger fly everywhere, what if she could use that fire as fuel for courage? Chandra brings the conversation back to the body and the ways we've both learned to push through pain, ignore signals, anticipate discomfort and convince ourselves that everything is fine. Together, they explore anxiety, excitement, spirituality, energy work, healing, menopause, pain, safety, intuition and the strange wisdom that can come with getting older. Because maybe the goal isn't to make every uncomfortable feeling go away. Maybe it's to ask: What is this feeling trying to tell me? This is a funny, honest, occasionally very woo-woo, occasionally very NSFW conversation about learning to listen to yourself instead of overriding yourself. And yes, there are vaginas. And an ant. Don't ask. Just listen. 😂 Welcome to The Sage Stage—the podcast for women 50+ who are navigating midlife, reinvention, relationships, spirituality, purpose, creativity, menopause and all the wonderfully messy stuff that comes with getting older. We're not here to tell you how to live. We're figuring it out right alongside you. #thesagestage #comedy #truths #divinefeminine #womenwhopodcast

As Long As You're Moving Forward, It Doesn't Matter How Long It Takes!

The Weekly Win: The Needle Is Moving! Sometimes your Weekly Win is a huge breakthrough. Sometimes it's finding a venue for your first workshop. Sometimes it's moving an entire apartment's worth of furniture up three flights of stairs. And sometimes... your adult child actually LOVES the gift you guessed they'd like. 😂 This week on The Sage Stage Weekly Win, we're celebrating the little victories that prove we're still moving forward—even when life doesn't feel particularly glamorous. We've got workshops in progress, a dance party coming up, a new computer that's hopefully going to rescue us from our ongoing tech disasters, and some very exciting plans to start bringing guests onto the podcast. But we're also talking about something much bigger: learning to recognize the small wins. Because personal growth, midlife reinvention and building a new life don't always happen in giant, dramatic leaps. Sometimes the needle just moves a tiny bit. And that's enough. Happiness Wasn't What We Thought It Was

What if the thing you thought would make you happy… never actually did? In this episode of The Sage Stage, Chandra and Jane dive into a powerful question: “I finally realized happiness wasn’t…” And the answers surprised us. From trying to make everyone else happy, chasing the perfect life, dreaming about success, navigating motherhood, career sacrifices, money, independence, and the pressure women feel to “have it all”… this conversation takes a very honest look at what happiness really means. Chandra shares how she spent years believing other people’s happiness was the key to her own. Jane reflects on letting go of the picture-perfect life she imagined as a child and discovering that happiness hadnothing to do with the house, career, or external success she once envisioned. Together, they explore: ✨ Why women often put themselves last ✨The invisible sacrifices behind motherhood choices ✨Career dreams that don’t always unfold the way we expect ✨ Money, independence, and having a voice in your own life ✨ Why age and experience change how we define happiness ✨ Learning to stop chasing the “perfect” life and start appreciating the real one Because sometimes the biggest life pivot isn’t changing your circumstances… It’s changing the story you’ve been telling yourself all along. Welcome to The Sage Stage — where women 50+ talk honestly about pivots, purpose, creativity, relationships, aging, and finding joy in the messy middle.
