    In this episode of Opening Doors, I sit down with Ken Massey, a CARES founding member and former board member, and Gary Bulson, a current CARES board member and owner of Men on the Move. Ken shares how a conversation with former Farmington Hills Mayor Jerry Ellis and CARES Executive Director Todd Lippa led to the creation of CARES. What began as an effort to preserve a small food pantry has grown into the Campus of Hope, serving families throughout our community. Gary shares how his lifelong commitment to volunteering led him to CARES and why he is proud to help guide the organization into the future. We also discuss the reality of suburban hunger, the importance of treating every family with dignity, and the hundreds of volunteers who make the work of CARES possible. This conversation is a reminder that food insecurity can affect anyone, and that a caring community can help people move from scarcity toward hope.
