    A Different Authority | Brad Straarup

    What if the most dangerous lie isn’t the opposite of the truth, but something that sounds almost true?     A Different Salvation | Brad Straarup

    What if the counterfeit isn’t denying Jesus, but changing how we are made right with God? In Week 3 of Cults & Counterfeits, Brad teaches on Catholicism and the difference between a Gospel that says “It is finished” and a system that says “keep paying.” While Catholics affirm many core truths about Jesus, the major difference comes down to authority and salvation. In Week 2 of Cults & Counterfeits, Brad teaches on Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnesses, two groups that claim to be Christian but deny foundational Christian doctrine. Both use Christian words like Jesus, gospel, salvation, grace, and Scripture, but redefine them in ways that lead to a different authority, a different Jesus, and a different salvation. In this message, we run both beliefs through three key questions:  What is your final authority?  Who do you say Jesus is?  How are you saved? The goal is not to win arguments.     The True Gospel | Brad Straarup

    How do you spot a counterfeit gospel? In Week 1 of Cults & Counterfeits, Brad teaches on the most important foundation of our faith: the true Gospel. Just like counterfeit money works by looking close to the real thing, false gospels are dangerous because they often sound spiritual, biblical, or even Christian. But if the message adds to Jesus, subtracts from Jesus, or changes how we are saved, it is not the Gospel.     Don't Go Back | Brad Straarup

    What do you do when following God gets harder than you expected? In Week 3 of In the Waiting, Brad teaches from Joshua 7 and reminds us that just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you misheard God. Israel had crossed the Jordan, seen Jericho fall, and stepped into the land God promised them. But after one painful defeat at Ai, Joshua started wondering if they should have stayed on the other side. Sometimes the same thing happens to us. We obey God. We take the step. We start moving forward. And then the process gets harder than we thought. But hard doesn’t mean go back. This message is for anyone who has started following Jesus, started building something, started healing, started obeying, or started walking into what God promised, but now feels tempted to retreat to what was familiar.
