    Gunsmoke: The Day Doc Adams Made Himself the Bait

    When young Lemmy Woods is shot in the back and sent home tied to his horse, Doc Adams arrives too late to save him. The boy dies before he can name the men he was trying to leave behind, and Doc simply can't let it rest. Against Marshal Matt Dillon's warning, Dodge City's gentle healer starts telling everyone in town that Lemmy talked, turning himself into the bait.     Gunsmoke: The Killer Bound for Custer’s Cavalry

    Marshal Matt Dillon and Chester are riding back into Dodge when they cross paths with a drifter driving an old rancher’s horses down a dry wash, a discovery that leads them straight to Amos Granby’s ransacked house and the old man hanging dead inside. The drifter, who gives his name as Joe Trumbull, has no gun, no explanation, and not a mark of guilt to hold him on except the fact that he was there.     Dragnet: Big 38 - Undone by His Own Baby's Birth Record

    It was Friday, August 17th, and hot in Los Angeles when Sergeant Joe Friday and his partner Ben Romero picked up the robbery detail no cop wants: a store clerk shot dead because he didn't empty the till fast enough. Burt Matthews died in front of a co-worker who could describe the gunman's build and his nervous twitch, even the way the getaway taxi's doors swung open, but not much else. Within days, six more armed robberies hit the city, each one ending the same way: the bandit backing out the door and vanishing into a waiting cab. The break came out of the crime lab, where two different .38 revolvers turned up tied to two different killings, and out of a stack of 87 photographs pulled from every taxi company in town. A frightened eyewitness finally put a name to a face, but it was a stranger's newborn daughter, traced through a job application and a hospital's birth records, who led Friday and Romero to a bedroom on the edge of Beverly Hills, where the case ended the way so many Dragnet cases did: quietly, and with a confession neither man wanted to give.     Dragnet: Big Quack - The Diploma Mill Doctor

    It was a chilly Sunday morning when Sergeants Joe Friday and Ben Romero were called out to a Hollywood apartment where Marla Hutchins told a strange story. Her doctor, treating her twice a week with hypnotherapy for chronic headaches, had come by the night before, given her three sleeping capsules, and left her to sleep. By morning her jewelry box was emptied and her mink coats were gone. The only other person who could have taken them was the doctor himself, a man calling himself Arthur Schulte. The trail led Friday and Romero to a boarded-up house that had once been the Los Angeles College of Psychotherapeutics and Psychiatry, a diploma mill run by Schulte and his partner Leo Donaldson that sold worthless doctorates to anyone with cash and no questions asked.  Episode Quotes  "He did it.
