Have you ever known that something in your life needs to be dealt with, yet chosen to put it aside because you are afraid to face it, unsure how to resolve it, or simply not ready to confront it? Perhaps you hope that, one day, the problem will somehow disappear on its own. Sometimes, we believe that if we stop thinking about a problem or simply ignore it, we can avoid the discomfort and pain that come with it. But some problems do not disappear just because we choose to avoid them. In fact, the longer we put them off, the more intimidating they may become, and what once seemed manageable can gradually grow more difficult to address. Life inevitably brings challenges, and we cannot always know how to deal with them. Sometimes, when faced with difficulties, we feel frustrated, afraid, or even powerless. But these feelings do not mean that we are not doing well enough. Rather, they remind us that some things take time to understand, and that we may need to explore different ways of dealing with them. The Tiny Talk series, STOP IT, takes inspiration from Marc Chernoff’s 30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself, exploring its themes through a series of short episodes. In this episode, we focus on “stop running from your problems” and reflect on how we can learn to accept our feelings, face our fears, and rediscover the courage to work through life's difficulties. Stopping avoidance does not mean that we have to carry every burden alone, nor does it mean we must become brave overnight. Sometimes, we can take time to gather our thoughts, seek support from someone we trust, and work through our problems at our own pace. What matters is that we do not allow fear to keep us stuck in the same place forever. Instead, we can give ourselves the opportunity to move beyond our struggles and embrace new possibilities in life, one step at a time. This space will continue to be created with care. 《動植皆宜|Between Wildness and Stillness》003 — 水兵草 Water Soldier

Between Wildness and Stillness is a series about plants, animals, and the quiet observations of everyday life. Rather than teaching botany or wildlife facts, each episode invites us to notice the familiar living things around us, and the quiet lessons they offer about everyday life. In this third episode, we meet water soldier, a plant that rises to the water’s surface in summer and sinks beneath it in winter. What seems like a remarkable feat is actually part of its natural growth cycle. Understanding how it works reminds us that adapting to our surroundings does not always mean forcing ourselves to change. Sometimes, finding the right way to work with our nature allows us to live more freely, without making everything a struggle. Britain’s canals have also changed over time, from vital industrial transport routes to places where people and nature coexist. Their story invites us to consider how, when our circumstances change and familiar purposes no longer fit, we too can find a new place in the world and discover new meaning. This space will continue to be created with care.

Have you ever tried so hard to maintain a relationship that you kept giving, making compromises, and even changing yourself to please the other person, all in the hope of receiving a little attention and appreciation? Sometimes, we believe that if we do more and give more, the other person will eventually value us. But should a healthy relationship really depend on one person constantly making an effort to keep it going? Life is short, and our time and emotional energy are just as precious. When a relationship consistently leaves us feeling exhausted, hurt, or even questioning our own worth, perhaps it is time to pause and reconsider what that relationship truly means to us. The new Tiny Talk series, STOP IT, takes inspiration from Marc Chernoff’s 30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself, exploring its themes through a series of short episodes. In this episode, we focus on “stopping spending time with the wrong people” and reflect on how we can learn to value ourselves while continuing to care for others. Choosing to stop giving so much does not necessarily mean we no longer care, and letting go does not always mean losing something. Sometimes, what matters most is making time for those who are willing to understand us, respect us, and genuinely walk alongside us. This space will continue to be created with care.

Food has a special kind of magic. It does more than nourish us and sustain life. When we eat, we experience food through our sight, smell, taste and touch — even sound. With all these senses involved, food can create remarkably vivid memories. Sometimes, a particular dish becomes connected to a person, a place, a relationship, or a moment in time: who were we eating with? Who cooked it? Where were we? And what was happening in our lives then? These memories can make food a source of emotional comfort, helping to ease stress and anxiety. Food that reminds us of home, childhood, or happier times can bring a sense of familiarity, satisfaction and happiness. Cozy Simmer explores the memories and stories connected to food, while sharing simple ways to recreate these comforting dishes at home. Because even when we are far from home, a little Comfort Food can sometimes bring back more than just a familiar taste — it can bring back a feeling of home. 【簡易魚香茄子】(2人份) Easy Fish-Fragrant Aubergine (Serves 2) 材料|Ingredients 茄子 1個 | 1 aubergine 免治肉 250克 | 250g minced meat 豆瓣醬 2湯匙 | 2 tbsp chilli bean paste 蒜頭 1½–2(視乎大小) | 1½–2 garlic, depending on size 薑(約與蒜頭同等份量) | Fresh ginger, roughly the same amount as the garlic 小辣椒 1–2隻 | 1–2 small chillies 蔥 1棵 | 1 spring onion 生抽 2湯匙 | 2 tbsp light soy sauce 粟粉 適量 | Cornflour, as needed 糖 2茶匙 | 2 tsp sugar 水 適量 | Water, as needed 油 少許 | A little oil 做法|Method 1. Marinate the minced meat with a little light soy sauce, sugar and cornflour. 2. Wash the aubergine and cut it into small strips. If salted fish is difficult to find in the UK, you can use one small anchovy fillet preserved in oil instead. Add it when cooking the minced meat This space will continue to be created with care.

This episode of Book Nook explores Mitch Albom’s classic memoir, Tuesdays with Morrie, which recounts the author’s final months with his university professor, Morrie Schwartz. Diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Morrie gradually loses control of his body as his life approaches its final stage. Through their fourteen weekly conversations, the book reflects on death, ageing, love, forgiveness, money, work, and success. Rather than presenting death simply as an ending filled with grief, the book invites us to consider a more fundamental question: if we know that life must eventually end, how should we choose to live? Book Nook is a series where I share reflections on books I’ve read.Rather than retelling the content, I focus on the feelings and thoughts that remain, hoping to spark your interest to read the book yourself and support authors and publishers. Book Nook represents a quiet, comforting space made of books — a place where readers can step into other worlds and connect with voices across time and place. This space will continue to be created with care. 《時代變奏|Time in Variations》007 — Because of You

In Time in Variations, listeners are invited to request songs.Unlike live radio request shows, this is a pre-recorded podcast series, and each episode takes time to produce—from song selection to release. The idea of Time in Variations goes beyond simply playing a song.It reflects on how the same lyrics, placed in different eras and set to new melodies, can take on new meanings—much like how a song that once accompanied us through a season of life may sound different when we listen again years later. Through music, this series revisits time, memory, and the echoes they leave behind. Remark: I incorrectly explained the lyrics “I watched you die” while recording. It does not mean that her mother ended her life; rather, it refers to an emotional breakdown. 🎶 Because of You (Originally by Kelly Clarkson) Written by Kelly Clarkson; Co-wrote: David Hodges, Ben Moody I will not make the same mistakes that you did 我絕不會重蹈你的覆轍I will not let myself 'cause my heart so much misery I will not break the way you did 我絕不會像你那樣徹底崩潰You fell so hard 你曾經摔得那麼重I've learned the hard way, to never let it get that far 我已痛定思痛,絕不讓事態發展到那一步 Because of you 因為你I never stray too far from the sidewalk 我從不敢偏離安全的界線太遠 Because of you 因為你I learned to play on the safe side, so I don't get hurt 我學會了步步為營,只為免受傷害Because of you 因為你I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me 我不僅難以信任自己,更無法信任身邊的人Because of you 因為你I am afraid 我感到害怕 I lose my way 我迷失了方向And it's not too long before you point it out 而你總會很快指出我的錯誤I cannot cry 我不敢哭泣Because I know that's weakness in your eyes I'm forced to fake a smile, a laugh Every day of my life 我生命中的每一天My heart can't possibly break When it wasn't even whole to start with 當它從一開始就不曾完整過 Because of you 因為你 I never stray too far from the sidewalk 我從不敢偏離安全的界線太遠 Because of you 因為你 I learned to play on the safe side, so I don't get hurt 我學會了步步為營,只為免受傷害 Because of you 因為你 I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me 我不僅難以信任自己,更無法信任身邊的人 Because of you 因為你 I am afraid 我感到害怕 I watched you die (I watched you die) 我目睹了你的心逐漸死去(我目睹了你的心逐漸死去)I heard you cry 我聽見你的哭泣Every night in your sleep I was so young (and you're so young) 那時我太年幼(而你也那麼年輕)You should have known better (I was too young for you) 你本該更加明白(那時的我對你而言還太年幼)Than to lean on me 而不該把重擔壓在我身上 You never thought of anyone else You just saw your pain (you never saw me) 眼中只有自己的痛苦(你從未見過我)And now I cry 而如今我卻在哭泣In the middle of the night For the same damn thing 為了同樣該死的事 Because of you 因為你 I never stray too far from the sidewalk 我從不敢偏離安全的界線太遠 Because of you 因為你 I learned to play on the safe side, so I don't get hurt 我學會了步步為營,只為免受傷害 Because of you 因為你 I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me 我不僅難以信任自己,更無法信任身邊的人 Because of you 因為你 I am afraid 我感到害怕 Because of you 因為你Because of you 因為你 點唱 Request Song email: so.houuk@gmail.com Instagram: so.houuk This space will continue to be created with care.

🎙️ 跟潛意識溝通——解除緊箍咒 🎙️ Communicating with the Subconscious — Breaking Free from the Inner “Curse” 你是否曾經在事情開始之前,便認定自己做不到? Have you ever decided that you cannot do something before you even begin? “I’m not good enough.” “I’m going to fail.” “I’m not good at expressing myself.” Are these truly objective assessments of ourselves, or beliefs we have unconsciously carried for years? Sometimes, what limits us is not our ability, but the psychological barriers shaped by past failures, criticism, and even shame. In this episode, we continue exploring the subconscious and examine how the belief of “I can’t do it” is formed, and how we can begin to see our abilities and experiences from a different perspective. Perhaps what we need to break free from is not a lack of ability, but the voice that has been telling us for years: “You can’t.” This space will continue to be created with care.
